2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 Complaints

The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle began to vibrate and made loud grinding sounds. The contact stated that the vehicle began to lose motive power. The contact's wife was able to exit the highway; however, the transmission was slipping out of gear. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had become constant. Noticed that there was a recall on this vehicle NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000. My concern is that I took my vehicle in back in 2018/2019 for this repair. However my vehicle vacuum pump completely failed the other day where I cannot brake. My vehicle is only at 70,800 and fail to see that if a proper repair was completed back in 2018/2019 for it to fail again a couple of years later with low mileage. While I was able to get this vehicle home safely my concern is that if it failed earlier in the day on the highway I may have cause a serious incident.

Going under 15mph, applying the brake causes the pedal to become stiff and lock up and not work. This has caused me to almost hit someone in traffic. I immediately got off the road and got my vehicle to a safe location off the road . Communicating with a dealer today to confirm possible recall issue or potential repairs.

This truck has a 5 star crash rating, but is rusting very badly due to a defect in the design of the truck. There are tracks in the roof that lead down behind the cab. The water rolls down and then there is an indentation that holds the water. This water holding creates rust, horrible rust. The rockers, frame and the fuel pump rusted badly due to this defect. The 5 star crash rating comes into huge doubt due to such rust from the design defect.

My truck goes into “neutral” or doesn’t have power while driving at times and can cause a car crash.

At low speeds excessive brake pressure is required to stop my truck. Other GM trucks have been recalled for this issue, but i am told my vehicle is not included.
