2022 GMC SIERRA 1500 Complaints

My truck has the same issues for the transmission and engine problems I have taken it to 4 dealerships and they all say the same thing. The first one I spent about 3 hours there and they changed the 20 oil to the 40 oil and said that will fix the issues but it hasn't i called GMC to report this and they sent me to the others but they said it's been looked at and I know one of them didn't do anything to see the issue.Gmc called the other day and I told them I will let the engine locked up or the transmission keep doing the same thing and they'll have to fix the issue then.I do have 109000 miles on it but thus issue has been going on for 4 years they said I have 150000 miles for the issue but I do t think that is right.I paid them cash money for the truck when I bought it

I bought this truck from a dealer at the end of july 2026 and it only had 27k miles on it. I got the carfax and saw all the times of service and checked that this truck was inspected and went to the new oil type, filter and cap. It also was showing it had the special warranty due to recall. So i assumed everything was good to go and the truck was relaicle. Not even 18 days later and less than 800 miles I broke down mid drive. I was traveling at 45 mph and lost all power and almost caused an accident trying to get over and parked safely. There was no warning light or indication of it breaking down or having a mechanical issue. It went to the dealer and they diagnosed it as complete engine failure due the issue GM is having currently. They did order a new motor and it took two weeks to get in but they are in the process of the engine swap as we speak. I am sure i will get more details this week....but I am concerned now amd honestly wish I wouldnt have bought this truck considering I am seeing reports of new motor swaps having catastrophic engine failure two or three times. So at this point im in limbo waiting for the new install and hopefully it doesnt fail again

Truck died while driving on a major highway due to a faulty fuel pump module. The vehicle was blocking an intersection. The vehicle could not be put into neutral without the engine running because of the electronic transmission. Could not move the vehicle out of the intersection and out of traffic. I found out later that to put the truck in neutral requires a special tool, and going under the truck to engage the bypass, which is very difficult and unsafe on a major roadway.

Early this year the crankshaft seized while driving. The engine was promptly replaced and I carried on my way. Then 7k miles later, the replacement engine that GM sent also blew up and was a total replacement. Hopefully the third engine lasts longer.

The lifters stuck and it ruined the cam shaft. This was repaired and then when driving home, the engine seized and started smoking. The engine was then diagnosed with complete failure and it had to be replaced. The engine had been upgraded a year or two earlier to the 0W-40.

The Dynamic Fuel Management (DFS) is causing damage to lifters, valves, camshafts, and connecting rods. I received a recall notice from GMC on the GMC app, stating "L88" Engine loss of Propulsion or Related field action: Special coverage N252494003. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure. My 22' GMC 1500 has just over 30k miles, and issues are starting with the previously mentioned engine parts. A "pico" test was completed at approx 20k miles. Too early and not enough mileage to show the true damage caused by the "DFM" Dynamic Fuel Management.

The vehicle’s engine suffered a catastrophic failure and locked up while in operation. The engine is still installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. The engine suddenly locked up while I was driving, causing the vehicle to lose power and become disabled in traffic. I was forced to get the vehicle out of the flow of traffic and have it towed to a safe location. The sudden engine failure created a significant safety risk to me and other motorists, particularly because the failure occurred while the vehicle was being driven. Yes. Integrity Buick GMC in Chattanooga inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the engine had locked up. Only the dealer. No.

Had a prior recall a few months back on my truck in reference to the engine. My truck didn’t have an engine issue such as check engine light etc etc etc which required attention. So they only changed the oil to a different velocity. On Sunday afternoon August 23, 2026 while driving on Interstate 20 near Longview, Texas the truck shut off. I had to get it towed to the Chevy dealership (Peltier Chevy in Tyler, Texas).

The forward-facing camera module and related Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist. The system has failed repeatedly, with the camera replaced three previous times. On XXX, the vehicle performed unintended hard braking at approximately 70 mph on the interstate, after which Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist became inoperative. Similar hard-braking events followed by system failure also occurred approximately one month prior to the most recent previous failure. The dealership (Confidence Chevrolet Buick GMC in [XXX]) has confirmed the forward-facing camera and ADAS failures on multiple occasions. The camera module has been replaced three times (XXX). During the XXX repair, technicians documented Diagnostic Trouble Code U3000:49 (internal malfunction in the front view camera module), opened TAC case XXX, and performed radio programming per bulletin 25-NA-318. I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali (5.3L engine). This vehicle has exhibited a pattern of severe electrical, fuel system, and active safety sensor failures that pose a direct threat to occupant and public safety.At approximately 4,000 miles, the high-pressure fuel injectors suffered an early-stage mechanical failure requiring dealer repair.At approximately 24,000 miles, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic, un-warned total power shutdown while driving in the middle of active, fast-moving 5:00 PM rush-hour traffic on a 100-degree day in [XXX]. The vehicle completely stalled, causing a loss of standard driving capabilities and leaving the occupants stranded without air conditioning or cabin ventilation in an incredibly high-risk, live-traffic environment. The dealership attributed the failure to the fuel pump switch/control module.The vehicle's active safety framework is deeply compromised. The forward-facing front collision camera and its integrated crash-avoidance sensors have completely failed and required a minimum of three (3) separate repair interventions, yet the safety system remains broken and unreliable.The vehicle exhibits phantom electrical bugs. The MultiPro tailgate audio system consistently turns itself on while the vehicle is parked, locked, and closed, hijacking the driver's phone Bluetooth from inside the home. While driving down the road, the internal cabin radio will abruptly cut out and begin blasting audio through the exterior tailgate speakers, creating a severe driver distraction. The dealership has repeatedly dismissed these electrical safety anomalies as untraceable.3.
