On [XXX], my wife was driving her 2022 Yukon XL in [XXX] , when she heard a loud pop and realized her sunroof had exploded and shattered. Thankfully, the sunshade was closed, which prevented shards of glass from entering the interior of the vehicle. She was driving alone, had not gone under an overpass, and there were no other vehicles in front of her. There was no indication that a foreign object struck the glass and the remaining glass is clearly protruding outwards. A quick search on this issue revealed that this is not an isolated incident and has been noted by consumer reports and a previous NHSTA investigation. On June 20th, 2024, I contacted GM customer service. I was told that there are no recalls, extended coverage, or safety bulletins on the sunroofs. The customer service agent stated she had never heard of the issue and recommended that I contact my closest dealership for repairs. Repairs are estimated to be around $750. I am urging the NHSTA to reopen an investigation on defective sunroof glass and GM to issue a recall before someone is injured or killed. it’s the lifters that are collapsed and The lifters are pitted because the camshaft is cracked. So in couple months some of my friends who owned GMC Yukon had same problem. I think this problem become a common problem need to investigated by GMC and the cost should paid by GMC no matter it’s in guaranteed or not. Repair cost is around 10000$.

Windshield wipers quit working. I turned off the rain sensing feature and they did not work even then. This is the second complaint I am filing on this vehicle. The vehicle is at the dealership for the second time to address this issue. Very very unsafe! they will work fine and then all of the sudden while it is raining they will stop working. Night time is the worst.

On January 21, 2024, my family and I went to lunch. As we proceeded to leave to return home when I pressed the brake the braking system, traction system, and forward collision systems all failed simultaneously, causing me to be unable to stop the vehicle which caused it to go through a stop sign while the brakes were fully depressed. Luckily, we were still in a parking lot, traveling only 5 MPH. There was no oncoming traffic as we rolled through the stop sign. The following Error Messages Displayed on the Dash Info Screen Brake System Failure 43 MPH Top Speed, Forward Collision System Unavailable, Service Traction Control, Service Brake Pad Monitor There was no warning from the display prior to trying to stop the vehicle that indicated there were any issues with the brakes. It wasn’t until I depressed the brake that I realized that the braking system was in total failure. After safely allowing the truck to roll to a stop, I turned the engine off, and then back on to see if that would reengage the brakes, but it did not resolve the issue. At that point I called an Uber to take my family home and a tow truck to transport my vehicle to my local dealer, Barker Motor Company. My fear is that this could have happened while we were on the highway traveling faster than 5MPH in traffic, which could have been potentially fatal. After having my vehicle for a week to identify and repair the brake issue, was unable to identify the specific cause of the brake failure to repair and could not insure me that the brakes would not fail again. Instead, the technician replaced the battery in response to a low voltage code that showed in the DTC report. However, he could not provide an answer as to how that could have been connected to the total brake failure.

The vehicle shuts off when driving in stop and go conditions but not related to the auto stop function. A message across the dash appears “Please push start button”. This has happened more than once but there are no check engine lights or anything else appearing on the dash. The vehicle just keeps shutting off without any warning or pressing anything.

WE purchased this GMC Yukon brand-new in January 2022. Since July 2022 and at 5700 (five thousand) miles, I have been experiencing a repeated Check Engine Light problem. I have taken the vehicle to my local GMC dealer, who has involved GM Engineers, on seven [7] occasions to have the problem fixed, but they have not been able to resolve the issue. I am now concerned that this defect is built-in the vehicle itself.
