GMC Complaints

The backup camera in the dark on this vehicle is unusable. Someone will eventually run someone over. I have added brighter lights everywhere on the back of the vehicle and the camera is still useless at night. The dealer told me it looked fine to them (they checked it in a lit garage). There are hundreds of complaints across all forums.

There are 2 issues im experiencing. The first is the vehicle won't allow me to shut down the engine because it doesnt recognize that its been shifted into "park". Ive already paid close to 800.00 to.have this repaired because my model year is not covered in the recall. Today, it started doing it again. The safety issue is that either I, my wife, or my teenage daughter (depending on who is with the vehicle). Can be left stranded, unless we pop the hood and disconnect the battery. The second issue is that the tire pressure monitor is no longer working. It is sending warnings that our tire pressure is low. When its not. The safety issue is needing to pull to the side of the road to check the tire pressure and also not knowing when the vehicle may actually have a low tire.

Catastrophic engine failure after taking it in for the April 2025 recall. Complete engine replacement needed

The antenna fin cover came off while driving down the road. I had been a possession of the car less than six weeks. I’ve contacted the dealership- it’s covered under warranty, but the part is backordered because it’s such an issue.

2023 Gmc Yukon XL SLT 5.3 Liter V8 engine As i was crusing on hiway my engine gave up lost of power knocking noise and check engine light appeared on dash it was a very serious matter when you are on hiway and engine fails on you ive gotte the car diagnosed it had known issue like the rest of GM trucks and suv Lifter failure/camshaft/push rods complete engine had to be either replace or professional rebuilt. This vehicle brand new is almost $100k vehicle which shouldnt have had this issue under 2 years of ownership and paying out of my own pocket. I urge NHTSA to take this matter in to consideration and have the GM 5.3 liter V8 engine under recall just like they have with the 6.2 liter V8 engine they have the same problem with the lifters, camshaft,pushrod failure. Thank you

Engine lost all power while driving highway speed. Vehicle towed to Cavender Chevrolet dealer in Boerne, TX. Dealer inspected and determined cam bearings damaged. Engine replaced with remanufactured engine.

While traveling on highway, engine suddenly just stopped. Unable to restart engine and had to coast to side of road with high speed vehicles almost hitting us several times. Towed to dealership and told metal found in oil filter. Told engine had to be replaced. Vehicle was inspected 3 weeks before by dealership and told everything was fine.

Experience water leaking 3rd brake light and rear window. Leaking in both areas. Also concerned about mold that could be caused by this.

Loses power steering when vehicle is low speed or stopped. Same details as safety recall 14743 for 2015 gmc sierra.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 - 60 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as intended for approximately one second before accelerating. A dealer was contacted. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnosis was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was in the process of towing the vehicle to another location. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.
