I was sitting outside , and then all of a sudden my tailgate on my truck opened upped. And I heard there’s a recall on the latch but apparently it’s not on my truck when I looked it up on Google. It does say some 1500s have the problem. I am very worried that it’s gonna open up in a parking lot on a car or a concrete bumper. Can you please look into this? My truck is going in for service next month and I would like to get it fixed with no charge of course because of the recall. Please call me if you have any questions. [XXX] . In January 2021, I purchased a new 2021 GMC Yukon Denali from a GMC dealership, which currently has only about 27,000 miles. To date, several recalls have been assigned and completed for my vehicle. per the websites for GMC and your agency. However, based on published recalls for my vehicle and a repair that is currently underway, I have reason to believe that my vehicle should have been subject to three prior recalls for which it was not [NHTSA ID Numbers: 20V735000 (Front Seat Bolts), 25V274000 (V8 Engine Failure, and 21V739000 (Fuel Power Control Module] Currently, the fuel pump control module is being replaced at a local GMC dealership because it failed last week and left my stranded at home. GMC issued a recall for this in 2021, but my vehicle was not included. Aside from risk and inconvenience, this is also costing my over $300 for a rental. Secondly, though my vehicle's make/model/year is cited in GMC's ongoing engine failure recall, which you are investigating, I have not received a recall notice. I note GMC's financial interest in minimizing vehicle's it recalls for such a costly repair. I have inquired with GMC and two of its dealers and have only received reiterations that my vehicle has not been subject to GMC's recall, which I already knew. I have not been given any explanation for why my Yukon has not been recalled despite my inquiries. Lastly, GMC issued a 2021 recall for front seat bolts; however, I did not receive a notice for my Yukon. I have occasionally felt slight movement in the driver's seat since buying the vehicle. Based on reason and facts, I am alleging that GMC appears to be artificially minimizing recalls and notifications for vehicles that are in fact impacted by defects in their vehicles.

I have contacted local GMC repair facility (Frank Brown in Lubbock Tx.) about the safety recall on my 6.2 liter engine to attempt to schedule an inspection of my engine and cannot get them to inspect the engine which the recall notice said they would do. They continue to stall and say the inspection isn't approved by GM. I've tried 3 different times to address this isuue without satisfactory results. I recieved the GM safety recall N252494000 notice for my vehicle in May 2025

The contact owns a 2018 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, the gear shifter was shifted into park(P); however, the “Shift to Park” message was displayed. The contact shifted the gear shifter back and forth and then shifted into park(P) before the proper gear was recognized. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

The transmission in my 2017 GMC Acadia needs to be replaced. According to an article from Qulll&Arrow, LLP, transmission problems affected the 2017, 2018, 2019 and some 2020 models, however, my VIN number is not included in this. I am reporting this so it can be documented in case other owners come forward and a pattern can be established.

While driving in downtown boston in heavy traffic (stop and go) braking did not stop the vehicle when removing my foot from the brake and reapplying and the braking was extremely hard, the vehicle nearly collided into the vehicles in front of me. This issue persisted continously for the duration of travel. The issue was not found using the vin provided. This issue MUST be resolved ASAP. This incident was not the first, after owning the vehicle for several months this issue is a major safety issues, specifically when my new young adult drivers use this vehicle. Please help me resolve.

While driving my 2020 GMC Terrain (VIN: [XXX] ) with approximately 110,501 miles, I experienced a sudden and complete loss of brake assist. After about 2 hours of highway driving, I exited and the brake pedal became extremely hard to press, making it very difficult to stop. No warning lights or messages appeared before the failure. The dealer diagnosed the cause as the brake booster vacuum pipe exploding internally, which immediately eliminated vacuum to the booster. This created a serious safety hazard and nearly caused a crash. I have since had the part replaced, but the fact that this component can fail without warning at highway speed is alarming. The catalytic converter failed at 93,000 miles, and 64 months. GM says it is out of warranty.

Front wheel well liners keep falling out of place like they are melting. happens when towing and engine gets hotter than normal. Trailer is well below limit for vehicle. Liners fall onto the tire while in motion. This is the 4th time this issue has happened to my vehicle. Dealer replaces them and says it happens all the time.

GMC Consumer Relations Subject: Structural Undercarriage Safety Defect – 2012 GMC Terrain SLE Vehicle Information: Year/Make/Model: 2012 GMC Terrain SLE VIN: [XXX] Mileage at Purchase: 148,305 Date of Purchase: [XXX] Location: Rochester, New York I am filing a complaint regarding a severe undercarriage safety defect in my 2012 GMC Terrain SLE. The rear undercarriage of this vehicle shows heavy structural corrosion on suspension brackets and mounts. The condition produces clanging noises during normal driving, and an independent licensed mechanic has refused to work on the vehicle because the suspension integrity is unsafe. When I returned the vehicle to the dealer, I observed additional brackets being attached under the rear subframe area, suggesting reinforcement of compromised structural points. This confirms that the corrosion directly affects suspension geometry, alignment, and stability. This corrosion is not cosmetic. It is advanced structural deterioration affecting the mounting points for trailing arms and lateral links. These components are critical to safe turning, stability, and control. The corrosion compromises the ability of the suspension to keep the wheels aligned, creating serious risks of loss of control or wheel separation. What makes this more alarming is that the vehicle passed a New York State safety inspection on 07/13/2025, yet within days a mechanic refused to perform unrelated service because of the undercarriage condition. This raises questions not only about inspection validity, but also about the underlying durability and corrosion.
