The vehicle’s headlights are malfunctioning, creating a safety concern. The issue was reported to the dealership and GMC Customer Care, but it remains unresolved. The dealership offered repair assistance, but GMC Customer Care stated that no additional assistance is available.

There was a catastrophic internal engine failure, due to cam/lifter/bearing issues. This caused the timing chain and tensioner to jump and the engine to be out of alignment. This caused the valves to all be bent as a result. I believe that this has been an issue for longer than what GM has originally recalled for, and I am submitting this complaint because I read that there is an active investigation into this.

The fuel pump control module went bad and the vehicle shut off while driving. The vehicle is only 3 years old. Everyone I know with a GM truck or SUV has had the same issue and the dealer service writer even told me they get at least 6 vehicles with the same issue per week. There is already a recall for GM SUV's for 2021-22 model years but not for anything else even though many other vehicles have the same issue. They replaced the module under warranty but it is all but guaranteed to just keep happening.

2023 GMC Yukon XL(6.2 liter engine).Engine has failed twice with the first incident being on the interstate and the engine seized without warning with only 38,000 miles. GMC replaced the engine and now the second engine has failed with only 80,000 miles on it. I am told there needs to be a third engine installed and the vehicle is only three years old. If an engine fails without warning this puts everyone in danger. My [XXX] son was in the car when the first engine failed. There is an obvious manufacturer's defect that needs to be addressed before innocent people are injured or killed. The vehicle is currently located at Darrell Waltrip GMC in Franklin, Tennessee. I was in a rollover accident on June 26th 2025 in my boyfriends 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 where we flipped 5 and a half times. The wheel separated from the rim. I will upload photos since I am unsure how to explain how the wheel damage is. During the crash the drivers air bags deployed but the passengers did not. When we finally landed we ended up on the roof. My boyfriend tried to unbuckle my seatbelt but it would not release. He ended up cutting my seatbelt and then at that time (approx 3 min after we landed) the passenger airbag deployed striking my boyfriend in the back, neck and head. Which knocked him out for approx 1 hour. My boyfriend had several open lacerations to his back, neck, head and his arms and metal pieces were imbedded in his skin. He also suffered other injuries like a fractured back, and several other medical problems.I got a severe concussion in which it has caused me severe headaches, memory problems and cognitive issues. Both of us have reduced quality of life.

The rear stationary/fixed sunroof glass spontaneously shattered while i was driving. I heard a loud pop, after i parked i checked the car to see what happened and found a shattered sunroof. There was no impact or known object that struck the glass.

Truck feels like it is going over rumble strips when accelerating. There is a NTHSA bulletin for this. 21-NA-047

During heavy rain, the sunroof on my Terrain leaked badly enough to allow a substantial amount of water into the vehicle. The rear floor area became completely saturated, and the sunroof controls stopped working. I brought the vehicle to Hudson Cadillac Buick GMC in Poughkeepsie, New York, to have the problem diagnosed and repaired. The resulting repairs and water-damage cleanup cost me nearly $3,000 out of pocket. I was advised that the damage was not covered by my warranty or by my insurance. What concerns me most, however, is that this does not appear to have been an isolated incident. While my Terrain was at the dealership, I learned that four other GMC Terrains were also at the dealership experiencing water damage related to leaking sunroofs. Mine was the fifth. Finding five Terrains at the same dealership with what appeared to be similar water-intrusion problems was extremely concerning to me and made me question whether this is a recurring issue with these vehicles. I also have a video provided by the dealership documenting the water damage to my vehicle, and I am happy to provide that video, my repair invoice, photographs, or any other documentation you would like to review. They went to great lengths to dry the vehicle, which was especially important to me because I was extremely concerned about hidden moisture and dangerous mold. Thankfully, after their work, there is no odor and no indication of remaining moisture or mold, and I am very satisfied with the quality of the repair and cleanup. The extent of the water damage was frightening. At one point, I was genuinely concerned that I might have to get rid of the vehicle simply because I was afraid of the long-term consequences of having so much water inside it. I am very grateful that the dealership was able to restore the vehicle so thoroughly but there is still a possibility that the repair will fail and I will have to replace the sunroof module.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated that the tailgate failed to open as needed. The contact researched and became aware that the issue was a known failure. The contact was informed that an undisclosed repair needed to be performed to release the tailgate. The contact stated that the area was extremely difficult to access to release the tailgate. The contact had scheduled an appointment with a certified mechanic to diagnose and repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 182,000.
