2019 GMC SIERRA 1500- WEST JORDAN, UT
I washed my truck on a Saturday and as I was driving later that morning my tailgate opened while in transit. I did not notice this until I had stopped. After a little digging I found the 2019 tailgate electric switch is prone to this problem when it gets wet. There were no warning lamps for this problem.

The air conditioning system in my vehicle failed in April 2025. My dealership service department diagnosed the problem as a refrigerant leak requiring the compressor to be replaced. I had the $2400 repair made replacing both the compressor, condenser and the a/c system was charged. 2 months later, I am having the same issue again - failure of the a/c system due to a refrigerant leak requiring the condenser to be replaced. A quick Google search identifies a recall on the 2019 Yukon XL noting a "refrigerant leak due to thermal cycling". Though this is the precise year, make, model and distinct problem that I am experiencing, my specific VIN has not been included on the recall. We are in the height of summer, currently experiencing temperature that feel like 104-107 degrees in East Tennessee thus is has become a safety issue for myself, 4 children and husband to travel in our primary/only family vehicle. I find it unbelievable that a vehicle of this caliber has a basic (air conditioning) system failure after 6 years; however, it is incomprehensible to spend $2400, have it repaired, know there is a recall for the precise vehicle and concern, have it fail again and be expected to spend another $2400 because my specific VIN is not included. It is simply preposterous. I am requesting that my specific VIN be included on this recall, please.

2022 GMC YUKON XL- Edmond, OK
I had a sudden catastrophic engine failure 3/13/25. I previously filled out an NHTSA report, but I would like to add to my case. My engine was towed to the dealership and replaced. 4/25/25 the check engine light started coming on intermittently again. The service suspension notification, replace the battery in your key fob notification (which was replaced in February), and the check engine light have been coming on intermittently since then. All of these things occurred prior to engine failure the first time. The dealership would not look at our vehicle again until our vin was called for the recall. 6/22/25 the suspension sensor was replaced and the recall “test” was done. 6/27/25 the service suspension light was back flashing and GM was unable to find any codes. 6/29/25 the check engine light was flashing again. I believe my vehicle is going to have another engine failure. GM did a multi-point “inspection” and says it is safe to drive.

2017 GMC ACADIA- Jacksonville, NC
Shifting car into park and the car does not register that it is in park. Display reads "shift to park" and lights do not shut off. Car will sit for 15 or more minutes before the car registers it is actually in park. I try to start it, shut it off, of start it, put in gear and then switch back to park and shut it off but still reads "shift to park". Battery is going to die if this keeps happening. GMC should be responsible for doing a complete recall on this, especially since they are aware of the problem. I have been stranded in parking lots waiting for this car to correct itself. this has been going on for over 4 years.

2019 GMC ACADIA- Groves, TX
My coolant thermostat went out, causing my AC and steering assist to stop working. I have spoke to multiple other people who have had this same issue with their GMC Acadia and I believe this should be a recall. It’s going to cost me $1200 to have this issue resolved.

2021 GMC SIERRA 1500- Surf City, NC
It started with a emergency brake light coming on, shortly (2 miles) later it started misfiring on cylinder #1 after replacing coil pack plug wire and plug. It then started smoking bad out of the exhaust. I knew GM was having recalls on the 6.2 engines so I hauled it to the dealer. They told me it was a bad engine and since it had aprox.62,000 miles on it and no recall it wasn't covered. Since then the dealer called the factory service rep. and he agreed to replace the engine at a 50% reduction in the price, but had no idea when they could get me a replacement engine. After a few days of research on my part I called the dealer again to get a price on how much it was going to cost me? The owner of the dealership ask me to give him a few more days to ask the rep. if he would agree to 100%. My problem now is I don't have it to drive, I can't sell it. and no idea how long it will be before it can be repaired. Plus I am still making payments on it. It is available for inspection at the dealer. If I had of continued to drive, it could have locked up causing a catastrophic accident. In my research it looks like these problems started in 2019 not late 2020 when mine was built. NC has lemon law complaints going back to 2019 that have been paid out. I currently own a #1 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2 with aprox.389,000 miles and only replaced the transmission recently. #2 A 2008 GMC Sierra Denali 6.2 with 279,052 miles, new transmission. #3 A 2011 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2 with 234,361 miles and #4 a 2017 Cadillac Escalade 6.2 with aprox. 102,000 miles. All of these are working and driving on a daily bases. I have a lot of faith in these 6.2 engines until now, I will no longer be buying any more of these engines even though 1 out of 5 aint bad. Thank you for your consideration and for what you do. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2023 GMC YUKON- Cumming, GA
There's a recall on my SUV ... recall ID 25V274. The dealer told me that there is no part available currently so they refuse to inspect my SUV. I believe if the inspection revealed that there is no defect relating to the recall, the dealer is required to use higher viscosity oil. I've asked them to perform this inspection while they wait for the parts, but they refuse to do so. As summer vacation is here, what if the defect in fact does exist in my SUV that will cause a dead engine while driving on the highway, and we get hit by a semitruck killing me and my family. That would be too late isn't it!? How long must I wait for the parts and continue to put my me and my family's safety at risk?
