Multiple occasions where the dash lights up while driving, the vehicle will slow down to 40 miles per hour while driving and notes on the dash the truck acceleration will be reduced. It has almost caused accidents while I’ve been driving on the interstate. The truck will jerk and shake and jolt. Multiple sensors have been replaced including drive shaft, crank shaft components and cooling valve components. I’ve also been complained about burning smells and my engine started smoking recently which caused my family to evacuate the vehicle. I believe my vehicle has same issues as the other recall on GMC Sierra 2021-2024 with engine issues

I've had problems with the brakes for several years, the pedal is very hard at low speed. I've seen a recall but not on my car???

4/17/2025:Approached a 4 way intersection and truck steering lost power assist. Vehicle engine still running and hard steered thru intersection. A convenience store on corner so turned wheel (manually) into parking lot. StabiliTrak light was on as well, turned key off. Re start truck and power steering good, stabiitrak light off. 4/25/2025: Driving truck and stopped at red light, truck engine stopped. Pressed accelerate pedal, no response. Turned key off and back on, started and drove normal with no problems.

We purchased the 2025 GMC Yukon XL on February 26, 2025. While I was heading out on March 24, 2025 I had a total engine failure. No warning sign or warning lamps were present. We had the vehicle towed to Hurd Auto Mall in Johnston Rhode Island where we purchased it. We were told that the engine had seized with only 1,488 miles on it. We saw that over 870,000 GMC engines from 2021-2024 had this same issue and/or have been recalled. We are curious if the 2025 model also have this problem.

In the midst of driving my vehicle, soon after exiting the expressway. I received a notification across the dashboard stating to press the brake to start engine. It was totally confusing because I was actually driving and doing so at a speed of approximately 45 miles per hour because I just exited the freeway. Then I noticed the car would not accelerate. At that point I realized that my car had shut down on me while in the midst of driving. I had to very cautiously maneuver my way through traffic to the side of the road where I parked and called onstar for help. This was a very scary moment because I felt as if I could have very easily caused an accident and injured or cost the life of myself or an innocent person. The engine shut down was not evident because all the dashboard lights were still functioning as normal. I don't feel safe driving the vehicle and would very much like to replace with something else, but I feel stuck with it. Dealership says that the vehicle depreciation for one year was $10,000.00 and that I will have to roll that 10k into the price of any new vehicle if I wanted to get out of the current lease. That makes the purchase of newer, safer vehicle unaffordable for me, so again I feel stuck driving something that could have very easily cost me my life.

I was driving on a highway at speeds of 65 mph and the engine stalled on the left lane. I almost got struck by a tracker trailer. The dealer supposedly fixed the issue and a few months went by and the vehicle died again engine failure in middle of the highway.

The engine on my 22 Sierra began knocking at 23,000 miles . The engine i have is a 6.2. It was already scheduled for a front grill recall at the dealer and I had concerns for the knocking issues. I had no lights on the dash or a performance issue at the time. The dealer said they heard the knocking and wanted to take the oil filter off to confirm engine failure. The found metal shavings in the filter and it needed a new engine. They said if I kept driving it the engine would have locked up . Luckily I cought it in time and avoided an accident on the highway. This is a huge safety issue.

I was driving back from getting breakfast and the truck started to smoke and the truck just shut off on the street. As soon as the truck shut off, I received an alert on the dash that told me not to exceed a certain speed, but the truck was not moving at the time. I tried to restart the truck and I received another alert that said to put the truck in neutral and I ended up having to push the truck to a safe space. I call a tow truck to take the vehicle to the dealership for evaluation. I later spoke with the representative at the dealership and she told me that my 6.2L V8 engine had seized up. She could not tell me why it happened.

I was driving my Yukon with my family back from a trip and my Yukon engine shut off while on the highway. The vehicle went into neutral but I was driving down a hill when is all happened. Luckily there wasn’t much traffic and I was able to pull of to the side of the road. There was no check engine light or indication of any issues prior to this incident happening. After this incident, the vehicle turned back on and was able to drive home. Now it is seating at a dealership waiting for a new engine with no eta on a new engine.

I was driving around a lake with my family. We were fishing. I had no warning at all and my transmission started to sputter and jerk extremely bad and my brakes did not work at the same time. I had to use my parking break to stop my family and I from going into the lake at 40mph. I looked up on many websites and forums and saw multiple people with the same issue. I am afraid that this will happen to a young driver and it be very tragic. Please do a recall. My truck is still sitting at my house broken. I am on disability and can not afford to fix it. I just keep paying my payments with no use of my truck. Please I beg of you.
