Shift to park does not complete. System warning comes on and will not turn off until I restart vehicle and redshift to park. Multiple shifts are required to allow the vehicle to accept park. This has been happening for approximately 1 years.

2023 GMC YUKON- Madison, NJ
While we were driving at a high speed all control of the vehicle shut down. There was absolutely no warning that this was going to happen to that anything in the vehicle was breaking down. We were able to get to the side of the road and the vehicle locked into N. From that point on the car did not work. After being looked at my GMC, they decided that it needs a new engine. It only has under 15K miles. We were told that some somehow pieces of metal were in the engine. Engines are currently on a national backorder and we have been without our vehicle for over 4 weeks. They have no expected date that this will be fixed.

2024 GMC SIERRA 1500- Leander, TX
I am beyond frustrated with my newly purchased 2024 GMC Sierra Elevation 1500 5.3l V8. Back in November I was notified to bring my vehicle back to the dealership for a complete engine replacement. Ever since this time I have had continuous problems with the vehicle. One day after receiving my truck back, I noticed that it was running rough and misfiring. When I opened the hood, I observed a bungy cord still attached to the engine. Several weeks after, the check engine light came on and took a week to get back due to sensor issues with engine. Today, after getting off work, I turned on my truck, but I am unable to shift out of park and I am stuck waiting on a tow truck. There has been nothing but issues with this truck since they replaced the engine. I am not sure if the mechanics at Garlyn Shelton GMC in Temple, Texas, are qualified to replace engines. This is a brand new truck and I should not be having these issues. My fear is that these problems are going to continue because they either did not properly install the new engine or there are still defects.

2023 GMC YUKON XL- WELLINGTON, UT
1. My engine failed at 10,000 miles, seized up completely. 2. Safety was a HUGE risk factor as the engine went out while driving 65 mph in a dangerous canyon highway, which made me lose control of being able to drive the vehicle to safety as I was needing to coast to the top of a hill and then coast down to even find a safe spot to pullover. My safety was also at risk because it then left me stranded in a canyon with no cell service where I was (and I couldn't even connect via OnStar because of the area I was stuck in), leaving me stranded for over 3 hours in 100 degree weather with no place to hide from the heat in the middle of summer. I also had my [XXX] with me and thank God we made it out of that situation alive. And thank goodness for bystanders I don't know what I would've done without them. 3. Yes, an engine replacement was made via warranty, but the new engine still make clunky/grindy sounds and even after having that looked at, I was turned away because apparently there were no performance issues but I still feel like I cannot rely on the vehicle especially driving longer distances. 4. Yes. see comment for #3. 5. NO warnings AT ALL were ever on my dash regarding my engine going out. There was never a check engine light prior to the engine seizing, nothing. So how was I supposed to know my engine was going to give out on me at only 10,000 miles? Regular maintenance was kept up to date. It just went out randomly with no warning. 2018 GMC SIERRA 1500- PATASKALA, OH
DRIVING 70 MPH ON [XXX] IN MODERATE TRAFFIC WHEN MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY SLOWED DRAMATICALLY AND BEGAN TO SHUDDER . I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THREE WESTBOUND MARKED LANES AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY A DRIVER BEHIND ME WHICH HAD BEEN FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY. THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND MY OIL GAUGE WENT TO THE HIGH SIDE. I EXITED ONTO [XXX] AND AT 40 MPH THE TRUCK WOULD SHAKE AND SHUDDER UNTIL I DROVE THE 6 MILES TO MY RESIDENCE. ON [XXX], I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO LASH GMC DEALERSHIP IN JOHNSTOWN OHIO. ONCE THERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAILED LIFTER THAT BROKE INTO PIECES RESULTING IN A BENT ROD AND DAMAGED CAM SHAFT. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT DUE THE SEVERITY OF THE FAILURE. THE TRUCK IS A 2018 GMC SIERRA DENALI WITH ONLY 65,449 MILES ON IT. IT COST ALMOST $70,000.00 NEW AND THE REPLACEMENT ENGINE COST ME $14,221.96. I FEEL MY PERSONAL SAFETY WAS JEOPARDIZED IN THIS INCIDENT. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE RESEARCHED THE 6.2 GMC ENGINE ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND REPORTS OF NUMEROUS SIMILIAR FAILURES AND INCIDENTS INVOLVING THE ENGINE IN QUESTION. I TRULY FEEL NHTSA SHOULD TAKE A STRONG LOOK AT THE ENGINE FAILURES INVOLVING THIS ENGINE AND FORCE GMC TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE ENGINES IN QUESTION DUE TO THE SAFETY ISSUES INVOLVING THE ENGINES FAILURES IN TRAFFIC AND THE RISK ASSOCIATED WITH AN OCCURENCE. 2023 GMC YUKON XL- Lubbock , TX
Driving at highway speeds at night when engine sputtered, vehicle shifted itself into neutral and shut engine down. Slight difficulty steering for 1/4 of a mile with traffic continuing to pass at full highway speeds but was able to coast to a side road. No warnings of failure or check engine lights prior to event. Had just stopped for gas continued on trip and cruising about 77mph and hear a few noises as if vehicle ran our of gas and dash lit up letting me know it was shutting down, then shifted to neutral. Now dealing with GM travel interruption team and being told that it is engine failure due to faulty lifter/rod/bearing issue with no timeline as to when an engine replacement will be available. It has been inspected and confirmed by GMC service department in San Angelo TX

2024 GMC SIERRA 2500- Eastland , TX
The AC/Heat blower (fan) stopped working. The vehicle was new purchased new May 2023. August 2024 the blower motor stopped working. Took the vehicle to Jerry's GMC Weatherford, TX (where it was purchased) and they check the blower motor and replaced it. No charge for the service. Reason given for blower motor problem was, "motor shorted out, burnt the wiring and the connector". Now, February, 2025, the blower motor stopped working once again. Took it back to Jerry's GMC, Weatherfore, TX. The blower motor had shorted out once again, burnt the wires and connector. Reason given for the reaccurring problem, " the blower motors they are getting have a bearing problem, causing the motor to go to ground, overheat the wiring and burns the connector". They replaced the blower motor once again and no charge. The reason for this notice is, With these motors shorting out because of internal problems, the wiring melting and connector melting, there is the possibility of a fire hazard. We feel that there needs to an investigation into this problem before something happens. Thanks

2021 GMC YUKON- Severance, CO
Hello, I am writing this complaint because i bought this 2021 GMC Yukon new from King GMC in Loveland CO. The engine seized up on me while driving once turned off, i was able to get it going and now it has done it again but this time no luck getting it going, Maintenace has always been maintained and up kept, and the more i read about this i am finding out its a problem that everyone is getting with this 6.2 litter engines. The dealer wants to charge me 30k to change the engine and radiator and cooler lines on an already ridiculous overpriced vehicle. I am not sure why there hasn't been a recall issued perhaps because it involves a new engine? over700k people have the same problem. if thier is something you guys can do i dont think its correct the customers have to pay the dues on an unsafe bad design engine. Thank you for your time
