2024 GMC ACADIA- Branchburg , NJ
When pressing brakes to start the car the pedal goes all the way to the floor with little or no resistance. It has happened three times in 3 months. Took it to GM dealer after the first two incidents and they did a software update. Took it in again after the third incident and they did nothing.

While driving, vehicle threw an error “ reduced acceleration, drive with care”. I had my children in the car when the car abruptly reduced speed and car jerked. It was very scary while driving. It was stuck in 5th gear. I was taken to dealership. Code showed it needs a Transmission Valve Body replacement. Part # 24065353. Dealership has stated part is “on backorder with no ETA of the part”. My car has been sitting on the lot for 17 days waiting to be fixed.

Without warning, giving vehicle low consistent pressure on gas pedal to move forward slowly (2-3mph) vehicle rpm jumped up then suddenly shifted and vehicle jerked forward in a school zone. Behavior continued and vehicle was ultimately towed.

Engine seized on the highway doing 80mph with my three young children in the car. The safety of my entire family was at risk! Luckily made it to the side of the road safely, but was freezing in the rain and snow with a completely dead vehicle. The vehicle had been in for service months earlier and they detected a “bearing” issue and had it for 2+ weeks to repair. I can’t help but think these two incidents are related. No warning signaling that the car was going to die - it became very clear we were coasting while trying to apply the gas.

2023 GMC SIERRA 1500- SEWELL, NJ
The tailgate on my truck opened while I was driving and I was unaware until I got to my destination. I had a utility trailer attached at the time and my tailgate was damaged from the jack on the trailer. I thought maybe I didn't latch the tailgate but it has been several days since I opened it. The following day the tailgate dropped two more times in less than a mile. I see there is a service bulletin and recall on most GM models but my truck is not included. I made a service appointment at my local dealership for them to inspect. The service writer already stated that my truck has no open recalls. I feel this is a safety issue first and second my truck has body damage. I use my truck as a truck and usually have stuff in the bed. My truck is completely stock with no modifications except a GMC bed cover that I purchased at the dealership. I'm hoping for the best on Monday 2/17/25 when I take my truck in to be inspected.

I have a 2023 6.2L V8 GMC AT4. I have ~ 27,000 miles on the truck. On 2/1/2025, I was driving down the interstate going 78 mph and I lost all power to the truck. This was a MAJOR safety issue because I could only "coast" to a stop. I fortunately was able to get to the emergency lane and call a tow truck. I put others at risk because I had no choice but to move over. I had my truck towed to Brookfield Buick GMC dealership. Because I had no power, I had no HEAT. I sat for 1.5 hours before a tow truck could come to me. I was freezing because it was 20 degrees outside. The dealership told me that I had massive engine failure "seizure", which will require a NEW engine. I had no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. This was a BIG safety issue and I'm fortunate I didn't get injured.

2023 GMC YUKON XL- Houston , TX
2023 Yukon XL AT4 with 6.2L engine. [XXX] started to hear rattling noise coming from the engine area. I took the vehicle to a GMC dealer in Houston TX. The dealer diagnosed the problem as a defective transmission plate? Said they would have to order the part. Part arrived and while at the dealer they decided to inspect the oil pan. In the oil pan they found metal shavings. It was reported to me yesterday [XXX] that the engine would need to be replaced. This vehicle has roughly 17,000 miles and it’s been just over 1 1/2 years since purchased brand new by me. No confirmation of when a new motor will be available for replacement. Was told it could be months. Was also told that the vehicle is unsafe to drive since the engine could lock up at any time based on their findings. 1) [XXX] - Was driving on the interstate at 65 - 70 mph when the truck suddenly shut off and shifted to neutral. I was in the far left lane and had to coast thru 2 lanes of high speed traffic to the right shoulder before the truck stopped coasting. Once I coasted to a stop on the right shoulder of the interstate, I tried to crank the truck up a couple of times and it finally cranked and I proceeded on to my destination. When I reached my destination and was attempting to park, the truck shut off again and would not crank after that. I then called roadside assistance to send a wrecker and take it to my local GMC dealer in Montgomery, Alabama. 2) My safety and others was put at risk when the truck, without warning, shut off and lost power while driving at 65-70 mph in heavy interstate traffic causing the truck to suddenly decrease speed and having to maneuver through traffic , without power, while coasting to the side of the road. 3) [XXX] - The service department at Mullinax GMC in Montgomery, Alabama called me about a week later to say the engine had "LOCKED UP" and that they had contacted GMC to begin the process of getting it fixed. They indicated that this was not uncommon with this model truck, and that it happens sometimes. 4) There were absolutely no warning lamps, messages, sounds or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the engine failure. I was caught completely off guard when the engine shut off. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2019 GMC YUKON- Franklin , IN
Transmission failed at 90,100 miles. Left me stranded in middle of a busy intersection as I was making a left turn, it was like it was in neutral no matter how much I tried to accelerate. Very dangerous situation, scary and helpless feeling as cars approaching and I could not get out of their way. Near miss accident. This should not be happening at this low mileage
