During the operation of my 2023 GMC Yukon XL AT4 on [XXX], carbon monoxide (CO) entered the cabin, exposing my children and me to dangerously high levels of CO and causing confirmed carbon monoxide poisoning. We were driving with the engine running and the heater on for approximately 21 minutes when the exposure occurred. Symptoms began to escalate that day and into the proceeding days, including severe headache, stomachache, pallor, chest pressure, shortness of breath, fatigue, and neurological issues. My children, particularly my [XXX] and [XXX] , experienced the most severe effects— both were very ill especially my [XXX] . Unfortunately, we initially did not believe it was possible for CO to enter the vehicle cabin, which delayed early intervention and appropriate medical care. Blood testing 4 days later confirmed elevated carboxyhemoglobin levels in my [XXX] , the only one tested. During the incident, the battery warning light was the first indication of trouble, but soon after, many additional error messages began flashing on the dashboard. The vehicle then overheated, decelerated, and eventually shut down while driving. We were in the vehicle under 21 minutes. Upon inspection after the incident, my husband noted a severed belt and potential pulley issues. The exact cause of the CO intrusion has not yet been identified. The vehicle is available for inspection and unaltered to preserve evidence. I am writing GMC and requesting further investigation by GMC. This incident reflects a severe safety issue with potentially life-threatening implications for GMC owners. CO exposure can cause significant harm, and delayed identification in this case placed my family at substantial risk. Immediate investigation and corrective action are essential to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Time is critical, as this defect could have catastrophic consequences for other unsuspecting drivers and their families. We received an alert/warning that is nearly constantly beeping and servicing the trailer brake system. We have never used the wiring or towed anything, and the trailer brake system is unused. The beeping is near constant, even after we “dismiss” the alert and is very distracting when driving.

The contact owns a 2014 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that the oil reservoir was constantly needing to be refilled. The contact stated that he had to have the oil changed and added every 4 weeks. The contact stated that the check engine warning light had been illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the catalytic converter had failed due to engine oil deposits and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred, he saw the check engine warning light was illuminated and was again having to add oil due to excessive oil consumption. The vehicle was taken back to the same independent mechanic who advised that the catalytic converter was going to fail again due to oil deposits. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

On 12/5/24 took the truck to the dealership where we bought it with a complaint about the transmission. They took for a test drive could not find anything wrong with it, recommended we have the transmission flushed and filter replaced. They could not do the service so we got it into our local Chevrolet Dealership who did the work for us on 12/6/24. On [XXX] as we were departing a gas station in Tifton, GA, the transmission would not shift out of first gear and the temperature rose up to 234 degrees. Limped the vehicle to a campground, called a transmission shop who told us to bring in the truck at 7:30 am o 1/2/25. They were able to replace the transmission on 1/3. We had to drive it 500 miles before we could continue on our journey to Florida. Trying to accelerate on the Interstate and not being able to significantly put us at risk of a crash. Once the temp rose on the transmission the check engine light also came on. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have been told the MODULE ASM-COMN INTERFAC Part #86581706 has failed and is on back order, with no anticipated in stock date, and not available to be repaired. This controls the vehicles communication with Onstar which is currently not working. Onstar is sold as a safety feature of the vehicle. In addition I do not have access to the location services of the vehicle, also sold as a safety feature of the vehicle. The vehicle is available to inspection. The problem has been inspected by a GMC Dealer. There were no warning lamps, messages or promts when the module failed. I had to have the failure diagnosed by the dealer to locate the failure.

While driving on the interstate at 75 mph, the top trim from my grill flew off unprovoked hitting my windshield and roof of the truck. Luckily there wasn't anyone behind us but the noise definitely spooked myself and the passenger not knowing what just hit the windshield. I took it into the dealer from who I purchased the truck and told the entire grill must be replaced for a whopping $1571.26 not covered under warranty. The truck only has 24000 miles on it and cost near $80K. Thanks GMC!! Scorned customer.

In September 2024 i was driving down the freeway and my car shuttered like the transmission was slipping. I then proceeded to get over into the right hand lane incase i needed to pull over thankfully, because then i lost use of my breaks, and then my ability to accelerate and steer. Then my car just shut off and would not stop. My vacuum pump just broke with no warning, it has been replaced and my car still won't start, it's going on 5 months now and they still can't figure out why.
