I have been having the same issue with my car for 11 months now. My car has been in the shop more than in my possession. I have paid for repairs that did not solve the problem as well as thousands in car rental fees. When I am driving my car at over 70 MPH on the expressway the dash board lights up with a check engine light and then reads traction control turned off, service stabilitrak and the reduced engine power. The car then reduces down to just over 30 MPH right in the middle of the expressway. I've barely missed several accidents that could have killed someone. I have been in and out of the dealership as well as contacted GMC directly. This seems to be a common issue in this make and model of GMC (2014 ACADIA) and I am getting no where with any help or compensation from them. I was just quoted today for another almost $1900.00 repair that may not even solve the issue. I am still paying on this vehicle and am a front line worker who relies on this vehicle as I am a traveling Occupational Therapist. I don't think it's right that big business can just run over the little guys like this, not to mention the safety aspect and possible death can result in this issue. They have also not fixed the recall on the air bags which can lead to death as well. Please tell me there is something can be done about this.

The check engine light has come on multiple times in the past 6 months. I have taken it 3 times to be repaired and finally the found out what was wrong. The first time that I brought it in, May 2023, the Bank 1 Lean Code was coming up on the diagnostic. They replaced a sensor for $300. 2 weeks later the check engine light came on again. They got the same codes and didn't know what exactly was causing it so they fixed a bunch of things which cost me $2,200. 3 months later, the check engine light came back on again. This time they're telling me the repairs cost $3,725 and it's related to this bulletin [XXX] ). This seems like a safety hazard that I should not have to pay for. My car only has 58,000 miles. I already paid $2,500 in misdiagnosed problems and now they want me to pay another $3,725. I don't have my bills to upload because they're in my glove box and my car is with the dealership. - Farmington Hills, MI

Vehicle stalled, steering column was shaking. Fortunately, this took place when leaving work parking lot. Had it happened on the road, driver and passenger safety would've been at greater risk. In addition, this particular issue could've resulted in a fire in the engine compartment. Took to mechanics and was informed that cylinder #3 was no longer contributing to engine function. Technician discovered cylinder was leaking from exhaust valves. Vehicle has not been inspected by the other individuals. Prior to this incident, vehicle was consuming oil at an enhanced pace although the oil light indicator would never turn on. Engine light didn't appear until cylinder #3 failed. It's important to note there is a previous (successful) class action lawsuit for the 2010-2013 models for the same exact reasons noted above. Missouri is in the process of filing a lawsuit for the 2014-2017 models.

GM is pushing updates over the air that are permanently disabling the backup camera by damaging the camera control module. Not sure yet how long we’ll have to wait for the part. I’ve heard of many that have been waiting months. They should not be pushing out defective software when it takes out the safety equipment.

I am told by a GMC dealer that my engine mount is cracked/worn and needs replacing otherwise the engine can fall out. My mechanic tells me this is a common problem with GMC trucks; specifically the driver’s side engine mount. Perhaps a recall is necessary if this is a common issue. My vehicle is a 2018, so only 5 years old.
