1)The glass on the Furrion fireplace exploded. There are photos, but it has been cleaned up. It was not under any stress. It was parked in our driveway, not in use, and the power was plugged in with ACs set to keep the internal temperature from any significant fluctuations. 2/3)While our direct safety was not at risk because it was not in use, you can see by the photo the blast and the shards of glass could have seriously injured anyone (person, children, or pets) who may have been inside. There are numerous reports of this happening to others, some of whom were inside. They are all grand design, units, many the same model. See enclosed photos. 4)We reported it to grand design via phone on 9/3/26, a case # was assigned #01098902, and an emailed was received on Friday 9/11/26 that they will only replace the broken glass a courtesy since unit is out of warranty. I am more concerned about a potential defect in this unit and the potential for severe injury. A recall does not require a warranty, and this should be investigated immediately. No one has inspected. 5)There were no warning signs or symptoms. I was in the trailer on Monday Aug. 31st. The fireplace was fine. My husband went out there the morning of Sept. 3rd and there was glass everywhere.

Component failure : Left rear tire showed signs of wear. Replaced the tire and upon reinstalling checked the hubs and brakes. All good. Noticed a little deflection in the front of the left rear shackle. It was obscured by foam and underbelly material. Upon peeling it back, it was noticed that the shackle had torn completely away from the frame beam. RISK : This trailer had it been pulled down the highway another 10 miles would have experienced a catastrophic failure. This trailer at minimum would have lost the axle and torn apart the trailer. Worse it could have flipped the trailer or tow vehicle Reported Problem : Grand Design, the manufacturer, and Lippert the frame manufacturer have been notified. They sent me a "Customer Satisfaction Program" that identifies this issue. This is NOT Satisfactory. This is should be a total recall effort and they should be required to send out notices certified mail. Current : Working with the manufacturers to see if they will have the trailer towed to the nearest service center and if they will repair it.

    - Phoenix, AZ

On January 18, 2026, while towing my 2022 Grand Design Solitude 310GK near Bouse, Arizona, I discovered a serious problem and pulled off the road. The rear axle had become detached/displaced. At the time, I did not know exactly what had occurred or what caused the axle event. The RV was subsequently delivered to a repair facility on March 27, 2026. During the repair process, significant structural/frame damage was progressively discovered, including cracking in the spring-hanger/frame area. The repair facility documented that the damage was more extensive than initially believed and performed structural repairs that included additional steel and plating. My insurance company approved $23,615.83 in total repair costs, with a net repair cost of $23,365.83 after the $250 deductible; not all of that amount was frame-related. During this process, Grand Design referred me to Lippert regarding frame repair information. I subsequently received a Lippert frame repair procedure addressing inspection and repair of frame cracking. Grand Design has advised that my RV is not within the date range of the related program. I have asked Grand Design and Lippert to review the documented structural repairs and determine whether they are consistent with Lippert's frame repair procedure and whether the RV is structurally safe for highway use. I have specifically stated that I am not asking them to determine the cause of the January incident or certify the repair facility's workmanship. I am seeking a competent engineering determination concerning the structural/frame condition and repairs. I am reporting this to NHTSA because failure or cracking of the frame/suspension attachment structure on a large towable RV could create a serious highway safety risk. The cause of the January axle event and when the frame cracking developed are UNKNOWN. The cracking was discovered progressively during subsequent repairs.

BOTH rear Brake lights are broken due poor installation technique. The mounting screws were over torqued breaking the plastic cover and allowing rain to enter. The left rear Brake light filled with water and stopped working altogether. I have contacted Grand Design to get replacement lights to no avail. Frame and structural integrity/towable RV. 7/15/2024 — First Warranty Repair (Frame): Blue Compass found broken seal-plate welds on the frame; welds repaired, bolts replaced. 30 ft of roof membrane, which had pulled loose and "ballooned" in transit, was fully replaced. 6/2026 — Recurrence: Roof membrane pulled loose again during travel. Mobile tech (Mike's RV Repair, GA) performed a temporary repair ($668.60, GD-reimbursed), initially noting "frame flex" based on owner's account of 2024 history, later revised to "possible frame flex" absent independent diagnosis. 6/19–21/2026 — Follow-up Repair: GD/dealer deemed mobile-tech photos insufficient. Blue Compass Charleston reopened the repair, found membrane improperly tucked under the front cap, corrected and resealed it. Cost: $1,375.08. 7/23–8/8/2026 — Inspection, No Cause Found: Blue Compass Prescott Valley performed a free inspection; air test found no leak source. At pickup, service writer and tech visually compared the unit to a new one on the lot and confirmed filon flex/loose pin-box fit, expressing concern, but had no authority to independently request Grand Design SRT involvement. 8/10/2026–Present: Owner escalated to Grand Design; new case #01085558 opened for frame flex. GD committed to 24–48-hr follow-up; deadline passed with no contact. Additional structural symptoms since observed: lag bolts replaced in 2024 frame repair are missing, backed out or loose, detached service bay shell, separated closet panel with exposed insulation, misaligned closet doors/wall gaps, screws backing out throughout the basement — suggesting a broader chassis/structural issue beyond the roof. Documentation available: repair invoices, photos/video, mobile tech invoice, receipts, full GD case history. Have an appointment on 9/4/26 for dealer to do a frame inspection that Grand Design and Lippert are requiring to be done before considering any support with repairs.

    - Modesto, CA

In early 2024 we noticed a binding on the bedroom slide, we took it in for service at Happy Daze in Ripon and the repair shop fixed the slide issue. After our next camping trip a month or so after the repair, we noticed a crack on the outside driver side of the front of the trailer above and below the bedroom slide. We had noticed a gap in the front bedroom cabinets in which we had attributed to normal wear and tear and had reinforced with screws and wood trim previously. In contacting Happy Daze again we brought it in for the new issue and realized that we were experiencing frame flex/failure. Happy Daze connected with Grand Design who sent a team out and did a goodwill repair of the issue, telling us it had been corrected. The SRT team from grand design welded and added additional lag bolts but did not address the outside cracks on the trailer. Because the trailer was well out of warranty and we were assured that the repairs made were adequate we accepted the fact that we would deal with the superficial flaws on the outside of the trailer. We covered the areas as best we could to prevent any water damage from occurring at those areas. A few months ago we noticed that the cabinets had cracked in a few areas and have continued to separate from the wall also rubbing a hole on the side wall. We returned to Happy Daze who pulled off the front cover and found broken welds and loose bolts on the frame work that was repaired in 2024. Grand design was contacted and has refused to make any additional repairs to make this vehicle road safe currently. We were informed to make a claim with NHTSA regarding this issue.

On XXX, I was towing my 2024 Grand Design Imagine AIM travel trailer, VIN [XXX], on the freeway at highway speed behind a 2025 Ram 1500 Crew Cab using a hitch equipped with sway control bars. After the trailer crossed a bump in the road surface, it began swaying side to side and the oscillation grew uncontrollably within seconds despite the sway control. The trailer rolled over and was destroyed. It is a total loss. [Add: injuries, if any / no injuries.] This was not an isolated event. From the time of purchase the trailer exhibited poor towing behavior, including a tendency to sway and wander that was noticeably worse than other trailers I have towed with the same truck. I believe there may be a defect in the trailer's axle alignment, suspension, or weight distribution as built that made it unstable at highway speed. The tow vehicle is rated well above this trailer's gross weight, and the sway control equipment was in use, so I do not believe tow vehicle capacity or the absence of sway control explains the loss of control. I am aware NHTSA recall 23V-151 addressed incorrect tire size and inflation pressure information on the Federal Certification Label of 2023 Imagine AIM units built Nov 2022 to Feb 2023, with a stated risk of tire failure and loss of control. My unit is a 2024 and is outside that VIN range, but I am concerned a related tire, label, or chassis issue may exist on later units. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the Imagine AIM single-axle platform has a stability, alignment, or tire defect that contributes to sway and rollover. I am attempting to preserve the trailer for inspection and can provide photos of the axle, spring hangers, hitch, and tires, along with purchase and service records, on request. --- Two notes.
