2024 GRAND DESIGN SOLITUDE- Prosper, TX
The entry door came open while driving down the road. Both the standard lock and the dead bolt were locked. We had to stop at least 5 times during the travel day to close the door. After each stop we double checked the door to make sure that it was locked.

2022 GRAND DESIGN REFLECTION- Livingston, TX
We purchased our 2022 Grand Design Reflection in January 2022 and were told it is good for full-time living since that is what we do. We have had issues with the slides, roof and other items list below: 3/11/2022 - Warranty Items: Driver side large slide won’t go in all the way and driver side front slide jumped a tooth. 6/9/2022 - Warranty Items: Bedroom slide (driver side front) mechanism needs to be completely rebuilt. Large slide (kitchen) has a bent bracket. 11/23/2022 - Warranty Items: Bedroom slide seized up (replaced slide system). Roof staples and screws poking through (resolved). 2/6/2023 - Non Warranty: Fridge shock cord snapped and fridge fell forward. Purchased new shock cord and installed. 8/9/2023 - Non Warranty: Fridge not working, bad board. Warranty passed and extended warranty said they would not pay due to the fridge fell forward in the past. Gerster paid to replace the fridge. Warranty Items: Spare tire coming loose after every travel. Shop replaced the wench. 6/6/2024 - Warranty Items: Slide on passenger side not sliding correctly. Room track is ground down causing gears to slip. Shop replaced the assembly. 7/6/2024 - Warranty Items: Fridge randomly stops working, needs replacement. Extended warranty covered all but $150 deductible. 6/6/2025 - Warranty Items: roof staples and screes poking through (roof replaced). Driver side large slide pin bent (replaced). Tech found cracks in the fiberglass above the slide at the rear. The cracks are on the inside in the same area (Submitted a claim to Grand Design. Waiting). 6/27/2025 - Pulled into campground and tried opening the window by the dining table. It is stuck. Had to push and hold it closed and then the release lever worked. Randomly throughout our travels, we stop at different places and notice pieces of trim/wood on the floors. Two kitchen drawers and one dresser drawer open during travel so had to install new drawer slide hardware. I'm having trouble attaching details.

2025 GRAND DESIGN TRANSCEND- Lake Dallas, TX
On May 27, 2025 (in Indiana) the mobile service tech who was sent by Grand Design RV came out to check problems, including rooftop AC unit. On roof, he discovered that this factory brand new 2025 Grand Design Transcend One 151bh travel trailer had unsealed areas of roof that he stated "definitely let rain into interior wall of trailer (at shower enclosure inside) There is a high humidity/moisture problem inside this trailer - in the mornings overnight, clothing and Dry Goods have dampness and moisture on them - now potential health issues. Water remediation specialist said that moisture contained within the inside of walls leads to mold problems, as well as parts of flooring, wall, structures breaking off in transport. A potential ROAD HAZARD. Also that the wood of the wall and other interior materials have absorbed the water and retained it, causing Environmental issues inside the cabin. Extreme VOC release also. I have communicated with [XXX] from Grand Design RV Consumer Affairs Dept. regarding other issues before this and now have requested to him that I want my full refund and reimbursement on this unit (purchased this year March 2025). Via email he refused and also said neither will they replace this unit, he only said it can be "inspected" (again?) and only repaired. Although according to their authorized dealership Blue Compass of Indianapolis, Blue Compass has a one-year buy back provision. So I want to know why Grand Design will not stand behind their product by issuing full refund and reimbursement to me for purchasing this defective, hazard of a travel trailer. Other issues include damaged entry door, which does not seal nor shut properly. Also faulty doors & locks on exterior cargo spaces which as [XXX] stated could fly open when transporting the unit. This unit was sold defective, faulty and flawed from GDRV factory. Also, tech checked ceiling lights running HOT at over 105 degrees and at too high amperage than normal. FIRE HAZARD. Etc...INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION AC

2025 GRAND DESIGN MOMENTUM- Austin, TX
Sudden loss of trailer brakes nearly caused me to rear end vehicle in front of me. The more concerning part is when I went to an RV dealer to disgnose, they pulled the break away emergency brake to test if brakes applied. They did not apply, however about 1 minute after the breakway was pulled the switch began to melt, then almost immediately there was smoke coming from inside the battery compartment and a fire was started by the power wires melting due to a short. The fire then damaged a hydralic line and hydralic fluid was leaking right next to the flame. Luckily we had a fire extinguisher handy and quickly disconnected the battery. Grand Design had an investigator come on site to survey the damage and interview the dealer and myself. I was told that pulling the breakaway cable will cause the wires to overheat and could start a fire. I might agree if it was left for a long period of time, but not in 1 munute. If this would have been an actual emergency situation where the traler disconnected while driving, the brakes would not have applied and I am sure would have burned completely as it would have taken more time to get access to the fire location. Being told that this is expected behavior makes me very nervous to continue to use this trailier as I beleive it could happen again. A letter was sent to Grand Design and I have yet to get a response and having difficulty getting them to approve the repair and send parts

2021 GRAND DESIGN SOLITUDE- Cincinnati, OH
On the evening of 7-1-25 we had finished unhooking the rv. As we were setting out our leveling blocks we noticed smoke pouring from the front battery compartment. After we had disconnected our batteries via the battery disconnect switch and removed the batteries we were able to search out the cause of the smoke . The power cable from the tow vehicle where it makes connection to the camper was inserted into a metal box. The connector to the box had come free allowing the cord to rub through and short to ground on the metal box causing the wire to burn back through the wire bundle into the battery compartment. This melted all the wires in the bundle and fused them together . There appears to be no fusebile links in line to protect against thermal overload. If we had not been parked and unhooked we would not have been able to respond so quickly to disable the battery power .

While driving i had the frame ibeam break above rear passenger side shackle that holds the leaf spring and axel to frame. This was the actual ibeam/frame itself that broke about 2 inches above shackle weld. After further inspection we found an additional crack that started in the frame above the driver side rear shackle as well. If it broke it would have meant complete loss of axel. Luckily the leaf spring on passenger side with shackle and frame pined against bottom of frame.

2021 GRAND DESIGN SOLITUDE- Box Elder, SD
Visible indicators began to appear both inside and outside of the RV within the past 12-18 months that were indicative of a structural problem. First, we noticed separation underneath the front cap where it is sealed with the bottom molding. Next, we noticed the wood paneling facia board behind the front bedroom closet, in the front nose cap, had almost completely separated from the closet shelving. Additionally, the adjacent closet, doubling as the Washer/Dryer closet, had wood paneling separating from framing. Most recently, we observed three separate nails/and or screws, protruding through the front, bedroom laminated flooring. With all of these indicators visibly present, we contacted Grand Design customer service on Friday, April 25, 2025 and reported these visible warnings indicators to Grand Design customer service and requested pre-authorization for a stress test to be conducted in at attempt to determine if our RV had frame flex. On May 7, 2025 we took our RV to General RV in Draper, Utah to have this stress test completed. This test was paid for by Grand Design. The test concluded that our RV did in fact have frame flex and required repairs. General RV filed a claim, on our behalf, with Grand Design for the frame repairs, but NOT the interior damages to the RV as noted above. Grand Design approved the frame repairs under the 5 year frame warranty. This work on the frame was concluded on Friday, May 30, 2025. To date, we have been diligently working with General RV, Draper, Utah to have Grand Design approve the claim to have the interior damages repaired that are a direct affect of the frame flex damages, however, to date Grand Design has denied to approve this portion of the claim extended under the 5 year frame warranty.
