GULF STREAM Complaints

Wheel stud broke off while in transit. Other studs were found to have been over torqued while new. Other wheel studs on same hub had stripped threads. Wheel bearings on both axel hubs had very limited grease. Possible loss of wheel from missing wheel stud and other damaged studs. Limited grease in wheel bearings could cause bearings failure with possible catastrophic results. Replaced hub with damaged studs is available for inspection. Conditions were confirmed by independent service center, Roadside Trailer Services, RTS, 62223 Highway 90, unit 193, Milton, Fl, 32570. Not inspected by others since incident. Unknown if others had inspected prior to incident. Missing stud and stud problems noted on [XXX] by owner. Other damage and items observed on [XXX]. No prior warnings. The contact owns a 2025 Gulfstream Kingsport RV. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the contact engaged the turn signal to change lanes; however, the driver behind the RV flashed the high beam headlights, pulled up next to the RV, informed the contact that the turn signal light was flashing and operating opposite to what was intended. The RV was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the taillights wiring had been wired incorrectly. The RV was repaired. The contact had been alerted by an email report for a recall on the 2026 RV models but not the model or year the contact owns. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V010000 (Exterior Lighting) online; however, the VIN and model year were not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 900.

Subject: Kenda/Loadstar Radial Tire ST205/75R14D on 17' Gulf Stream Vista Camper Mode of failure: Sidewall bulged out over 2" with size of softball/4". Safety risk: At the time I noticed the left side trailer tire bulge, I was traveling at 60mph on a limited access highway towing trailer with a Ford F-150. With insufficient berm to pull off the highway, in an effort to reduce the possibility of a high-speed blowout, of a tire inflated to 50 to 75 psi, I slowed to 50mph and then 40 mph as the bulge clearly grew in diameter. Where possible I stayed halfway off the right lane but was many times forced completely onto the right lane. Thankfully, most of the time light traffic made for smooth mergers into the left lane but on 2 occasions there were near accidents during the 3 to 4 miles before I was able to pull into the median between the north and south 2 lane highways. AAA did not show up within the nearly 2 hours we sat there waiting/and then me changing the tire(I'm [XXX]). The bulge was within 12" of my head so that was a safety risk of a magnitude I tried not to think about. When I reported the problem the next day to Kenda, the 1st thing their agent said was; "let all the air out right now". I had traveled over 400 miles with it in an enclosed truck bed hard cover. Reproduced/Confirmed Problem: No but I have the tire and that can easily be done but not safely if standing close to the bulge. Inspected: Not yet. We are still traveling but I intend to do that upon my return home. Warnings: No. I noticed it because of a "Whitewall" painted on the tire by either Kenda or Gulf Stream. The contact owns a 2018 Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser 19ERD. The contact stated that the frame was bent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the hitch frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

I purchased a brand new 2022 Gulfstream travel trailer from Optimum RV in Pottstown PA. When I arrived home a neighbor noticed the wheels were not straight. Looking under I saw there were 2 shackles missing from the spring. The tire was rubbing on the wheel well. We could have been killed driving down I 95. Gulfstream and Optimum have been no help.

Hi, We have a 2021 BT Cruiser by Gulf Stream. We smelled gas and were concerned because this could be a fire hazard. And we also have heard many RV Manufactures are recalling units for LP gas systems that may be cracked, causing a gas leak. We just came home from getting our unit fixed. Here is what the repair was for. Cause: Propane regulator leaking thru vent. Correction: Replaced dual stage propane regulator. Cost: $171.11 We have not found of any recalls from Gulf Stream. We are asking that you consider looking into Gulf Stream to see if they also need to recall units.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2021 GULF STREAM VINTAGE CRUISER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HAULING THE ONE AXLE TRAILER, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE PASSENGER’S SIDE TIRE AIR PRESSURE WAS VERY LOW. THE TIRE AND WHEEL WERE LATER TAKEN TO THE LOCAL TIRE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL WAS FAULTY, CAUSING THE AIR TO LEAK FROM THE TIRE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

IN THE FALL OF 2019 I BROUGHT MY MOTORHOME TO DAISY TIRE COMPANY TO HAVE MY FRONT TIRES BALANCED. THEY REMOVED THE TIRE AND THEN EXPLAINED THAT BALANCING WOULD DO NO GOOD BECAUSE THE TIRE ITSELF WAS BAD. I BOUGHT TWO NEW TIRES SEP. 5, 2019. I WAS INITIALLY HAPPY WITH THESE TIRES AND BOUGHT 4 MORE WHICH I BROUGHT TO IDAHO AND HAD INSTALLED BY LES SCHWAB NEAR MY HOME. I WAS HAPPY TO KNOW I HAD FOUR NEW TIRES. THIS SUMMER WE DROVE TO COLORADO, BUT ALONG THE WAY THE FRONT END BEGAN TO SHIMMY. BY THE END OF THE TRIP TO DENVER, WE COULD NOT DRIVE FASTER THAN 50 WITHOUT A VERY BAD SHAKING. I WENT TO LES SCHWAB THERE, WHO FOUND THAT THE FRONT TIRES WERE VERY BAD: TREAD SEPARATION AND SEPARATION OF THE INNER LINING FROM THE BODY CORDS. WHEN I CALLED DAISY TIRE THEY SAID WARRANTY SERVICE IN DENVER WAS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT GAVE THE NUMBER OF THE DISTRIBUTORS OF THE PHYLON EUPHORIA TIRES: BARKLEY TIRE AMERICAS, 6047 MALBURG WAY, VERNON, CA 90058. I CALLED, BUT THEY ALSO SAID THE ONLY WAY TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE WOULD BE TO RETURN THE TIRES TO DAISY TIRE COMPANY. THIS OBVIOUSLY WOULD NOT BE SAFE, SO I PURCHASED TWO NEW TIRES FROM LES SCHWAB IN DENVER. I WANT DAISY TIRE AND BARKLEY TIRE TO LET ME KNOW IF THE REMAINING 4 TIRES ARE SAFE, OR IF THE ENTIRE LINE OF PHYRON EUPHORIA TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE. I ALSO WANT THE NHTSA TO INFORM ME IF THE PHYRON TIRES ARE SAFE OR DANGEROUS.

HIDDEN HITCH LOCATED AT 47912 HALYARD DR, SUITE. 100, PLYMOUTH, MI 48170, (800)632-3290, WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE.
