  • 2017 HONDA CIVIC SI
    - Maricopa, AZ

Since I have purchased my vehicle back in 2017 everything was running smooth with the A/C until one day one side of my center air vents was blowing hot air when the A/C was turned on. Then I kept hearing a hissing sound (like gasses escaping or boiling water) coming from the bottom of my dash on the front passenger side. So I called Honda and informed them. I dropped off vehicle to Honda I spoke with the service manager and he stated that they would take a look at it. After my vehicle was serviced they stated it was the AC condenser and it was replaced. That I should be good now. A few weeks later I heard the same escaping gas noises coming from the same area again. I called Honda and told them that I continued to hear the same gasses escaping from inside my car. This time they said it was the fan blower motor and that was replaced. A few months later I heard the same sound again and took it back in and they said that my refrigerant was low and that they will fill it up. All seemed to be ok. Then just recently (about 2 weeks ago) I take my car in to Honda (I'm now living in [XXX]) to get the a/c checked because it was blowing warm air again and I was hearing the escaping gasses again and they said it was the compressor seal and that was replaced. They also mentioned that my Evaporator Core was leaking and needed to be replaced. That costs $2850 to be replaced. I was shocked by the price and I stated that I've been telling Honda Techs this for years and no one care to replace it during warranty and now that 84k warranty is up now they want to fix it and charge me $2850!! I called Honda Corp and expressed my frustration on how their techs never cared to check my evaporator core (Where all the refrigerant was always leaking from) and they said its not a recall so they won't fix it. I then informed them that there are hundreds of civics with the same evaporator core issues and this is creates a cabin visibility issues and extreme heat hazard. This needs to be checked INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF I
