The car has an oil consumption problem as noted by dealership when following through with oil consumption test. The car has had several instances of stalling upon starting , car shakes and has no power. Yesterday I was 50 miles from home and car attempted to stall and it was 105 degrees outside. I am becoming afraid of this car. No, thankfully no fatalities at this time or I would not be sending in a claim if I were a fatality. There has been no attempt to fix the car which is still under warranty. Is the warranty not valid? One reason to buy the vehicle was for the warranty. I have records for oil consumption test.

On July 13, 3023, I was driving the vehicle and the pwwer steering light illuminated, but the light did go out. I took the vehicle to Stew Hansen Hyundai in Urbandale, Iowa, indicated the entire power steering column has got to be replaced. The parts hace been on back order, and as of today, August 16, the service center is still waiting for the parts to be delivered. The vehicle has slightly over 69,000 miles and 6 years. It's not covered under the warranty, Because that part is covered by the 5 year 50,000 warranty, so I have to pay an estimated $3,400. hundred dollars. I did share with the service agent that I received a power steering 15 years, 150,000 warranty extension notification, and provided him a copy, but waa told that was only for a specific part, and it did not apply to my repair, because my repair is for the entire power steering column. The reason why I'm paying this is because in June 2022, at 60,000 miles the vehicle's engine had to be replaced. That too took over two months to be fixed and returned to me, but repair as covered under warranty. Also, I'd be happy to share the information, but my vehicle is still in the shop for repair, depending on when the parts are received.

On 12/26/22, I was on a road trip and the car began vibrating violently on the PA turnpike. The car was losing power and would not accelerate. I was forced to stop on the highway with my kids in the car. Hyundai repaired the cylinders in the engine and then it began burning excessive oil, 1 quart ever 1000 miles. For months, I drove this car and as the oil got lower, the car hesitated while driving and ran very rough. On 7/4/23, transmission overheated and once again, car lost power on the road and left me stranded with my kids. Engine is burning excessive oil and causing other issues with car. Was not fixed when car died the first time and has now left me limping along and stranded twice. Car has been at shop since 7/5/23. Engine approved, but dealer can’t get parts. Hyundai won’t approve transmission until engine is replaced, leaving me to drive an unreliable car again when transmission and engine both have known issues. It’s unsafe to continually be stranded by a car that clearly has a bad engine. Would have been more cost effective for Hyundai to replace car at this point and still being given runaround by corporate.

MY 2017 HYUNDAI IS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL FOR EXCESS OIL CONSUMPTION AND I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY IT IS NOT INCLUDED. I HAVE TO ADD OIL EVERY WEEK TO MY CAR AND HAVE TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. I WOULD SIMPLY LIKE TO KNOW WHY MY 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE RECALL AS WELL AS HOW I CAN GET IT INCLUDED SINCE IT IS ONE OF THE SONATAS WITH THE EXCESS OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION OF THIS MATTER.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE Washington, DC 20590 Subject: Anti-Theft Upgrade Request and Complaint Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing this letter as an Autochthon American woman exercising my rights to conduct commerce and practice freedom of religion, seeking assistance and resolution for a distressing incident related to the theft of my conveyance. I believe that the faulty design system of my Hyundai, which was advertised as reliable, contributed to the unfortunate incident of theft. On [date of theft], my vehicle, a [make, model, year, color, license plate number], was stolen, and it has had a severe impact on my ability to conduct commerce, generate income, and practice my religious rights freely. The theft has left me under duress, causing immense stress and a crippling financial situation. The advertised reliability of Hyundai vehicles has proven to be far from the truth in my case, as well as the experience of many others. I am seeking assistance and action from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to address this issue and improve the anti-theft measures in Hyundai vehicles. My inability to utilize my vehicle has significantly hindered my daily life, preventing me from engaging in productive work and fulfilling my religious obligations. I implore the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to thoroughly investigate this matter and take necessary measures to enhance the security and anti-theft features in Hyundai vehicles. I kindly request the following actions: 1. An investigation into the reported faulty design system contributing to the theft of my vehicle and its impact on others. 2. The car started shaking or not running smoothly back in May and then the check engine light came on. I immediately pulled over and inspected under the hood. I saw nothing wrong and the car started fine and check engine light went away. I drove a few more days without any problems but then the same thing happened again. The next day I called the dealership (Bob King Hyundai in Winston-Salem, NC) the earliest appointment was 26 days away. I had no choice but to keep driving it even thought I was terrified every time. It happened a few more times and I took it by Auto Zone and they gave me a DTCs Secondary code of P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire detected No Code(The gentleman informed me that to get a code the light would need to stay on. I told this to the dealership when I took it in for service and diagnosis on 5/30/2023 They called me on 6/1/2023 and told me the mechanic could not find anything and that it could be a vaccum leak and they can clear themselves. About 2 days latter it happened again. I called the dealership back and ask that the Service Manager call me and He still has not called me. I also reported this to corporate Hyundai and that Gentleman stated He could not get in touch with anyone about the issue either. I went ahead and made another appointment which is now scheduled for 8/10/2023. I took it to O'Rielys and they told me the same thing that Auto Zone did Cylinder 3 misfire. I have replaced the gas cap with Hyundai but that didn't help.

Several weeks ago, the trunk would not open. The latch was determined to be defective. I paid for a repair and replacement at a local garage. I had discovered there was a recall but phone calls to the dealership service department were not returned. I paid $149.79 for the part and part of $150.00 labor charge to replace the trunk latch. Can I get a reimbursement for this part replacement and labor to repair?

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel was stiff and the vehicle lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. The contact parked and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was also diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced; however, the manufacturer declined the engine replacement due to Service Campaign 953 (ECM & Cluster Update - Engine Monitoring Logic Product Improvement) not being performed prior to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The contact stated that she had not received notification of the Service Campaign. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 106,238.
