On [XXX], I was operating (bobtail) truck number [XXX] and needed to complete some tasks outside the truck. I set the parking brakes by pulling the yellow valve out. The truck didn’t make the usual loud noise we hear every time we set the brakes. After a couple of minutes of reviewing the documentation I was supposed to drop off at that location, I stepped out of the truck with the key in my pocket and walked away from it. When I was about 100 feet away from the truck, I saw it rolling down on my right side. I went to recover the truck, and the first thing I checked was the yellow valves. Both valves were pulled out. I put the key in the ignition and started the truck. I pressed the yellow valve in, but there was no noise, and the feeling was a bit different. I did press the red valve in and heard that air noise. I pulled back out again and reversed the truck back to where I originally parked it. I notified safety and also requested by text to my supervisor, Shania, that the valves should be checked before any other driver would drive it. So far I haven’t been told what caused the roll away. No one got hurt, no citation, but the area where this incident happened is the entrance and exit of every employee in that building. I was let go from work on July 21,2026. Vehicle was involved in a fire. The fire started on the interior drivers side dash area.

Hello NHTSA, On 05/15/26, I was driving on [XXX] southbound when the sidewall of my Michelin X Line Energy Z steer axle tire failed and blew out. The tire was purchased on 12/23/25 and was made in [XXX] . When the tire blew, dark thing spread onto the hood, bumper, and side of my truck. I have attached images showing the damage and the failed tire. Thankfully, I was driving at about 55 mph, remained in control of the vehicle, and no one was injured. The tire tread was still in excellent condition at the time of the incident. For safety reasons, I was forced to replace both steer tires immediately. I have also attached the invoice along with the photos I recorded. P.S. I was unable to upload/download the video file successfully. Thank you. Truck is unsafe at highway speeds shaking violently and making lane changes scary and sways too much shakes at 65-70 and can’t see clearly out mirrors or concentrate as it sways from side to side at lane changes. Replaced new tires with new tires. Driveshaft service and alignments and balancing. No help. Dealer said to complain to factory and stopped working on it saying I should trade it off since it’s a lemon.

The contact leased a 2023 International MV607 from Enterprise Rental Car. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the driveshaft unexpectedly detached from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the driveshaft had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,631. The VIN was not available.

The serpentine belt system keeps on eating belts. This unit needs a 4th belt with only 8900 miles. Its had many trips to the dealer under warranty and they refuse to fix the Root Cause of the belts going bad. The serpentine belt system controls the ac compressor, water pump, cooling fan and alternator. When belt failure occurs multiple truck operating systems simultaneously go down. The belt will start squeeking then eventually will stop charging. The dealership has replaced the belt tensioner and the serpentine belt twice. Its a design flaw, there is an engineering issue with either the belt tensioner, idlers or pulley alignment. The chassis upfitter was also complaining of multiple brand new units experiencing excessive belt squeeling that will in short time lead to failure. The problem is known about at the dealer, it is very easily reproduced as belts average lifespan is about 2,000 miles. This is a dangerous condition as it can disable multiple truck systems in the event of belt failure. No warning lamps.

The Electronic Control Unit ABS gave false or partial warnings for years without showing up as the problem during four trips to the dealer over a four-year period. The truck would sound alarm, abs and air pressure low warnings. Then go into save mode and would drive slowly until shut down completely for a new reboot. Then the truck would operate correctly for some time. Right front caliper would set and drag. I had the truck into the shop over and over. This time I was told the complete brake system would have to be replaced, not the unit, just all four corners of brakes and ABS components. After picking the truck up from the shop and driving 19 miles the truck again displayed the exact same notices. When searching for a used component it was found out that every truck in the wrecking yards throughout the US had the same issue. This truck has low mileage, 77,000. This must be an issue seen over and over since there are no used component were found, I am told this is a $8,000. repair. Truck is presently in Prosser, WA. at the international dealers.

The contact owns a 2020 International MV607. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, an abnormal thunder-like sound was heard coming from the vehicle, with several unknown warning lights displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the vehicle began to jerk violently while shaking the contact was in the seat. The contact immediately pulled off to the shoulder of the highway. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the mechanic discovered that the fan hub was blown out of the engine. Due to the failure, the fan hub, fuel line, tensioner belt, and radiator all had to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle had been repaired but remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was 178,359.

This truck has had 4 different rubber brake lines fail in the last 3 years. Both lines at the master cylinder, one at the left front wheel and one in the rear.
