On 5/8/23 called JLR NA on transmission issues fault codes C0003A(abs) P0500 and PO721 gear box and speed sensors. They recommended not to drive and have towed and connected to JLR road side, but $225 to closest JLR dealer, so called back and JLR recommended Jaguar Plus and T&S Auto Clinic, locally. Plus does not do transmissions, so T&S called for tow $105.Open case on 5/9/23 #[XXX] and told T&S don't proceed with shop work, until we came in and authorized. Issue with them , no receipts , no written estimates that were requested. Here is issue: CLUNK in automatic PRND . Yellow check engine, abs and instrument displays"abs fault" "gear box" " output shaft" and many others. However if the DSC is disabled, like on heavy snow; and slowly shift P R N D then J shift to 2,3,4,5 no CLUNK just normal bumps in and out N. No speed issues my husband says. But I am 77 and have lung cancer and cannot work it without the D automatic . Many emails and calls to JLR who set up appointments with JLR dealers 25-50 miles away. All say they have to run diagnosis for two hours, $500 non- refundable fee, even though the instrument two green displays give most of the faults keep flashing. Transmission shop day have cheap ABS RR changed , and scheduled, some report that cures all faults, since JLR software get confused , revs engine, upshifts, down shifts and CLUNK. Solution: Husband says start engine, let idle down ,warn up, press DSC off, ease from P to R and you hear shift , then stop in N and the slowly D, the immediately in J shifter go through 5,4,3,2 keep foot on brake at all times. Result no CLUNK, but small normal bumps.(Keeps lock in gear, no down shifts Two JLR dealers say OOS and TCM internal new $14,000 or one said $4,200 plus labor warrantee 1 year. 2017 Jaguar fpace with 52k miles starting leaking coolant and is in the dealership for an expensive repair and suggested below parts needs replacement. Repair alone costs $4000 as it is of factory warranty. 1) waterpump 2) coolant pipes and hoses 3) belts Also opened a case with Jaguar but no response yet. Seen lot of Jaguar forums with coolant leaks which should have been taken care as part of recalls. Manufacturer should address the quality issues on coolant leaks. Being branded alone doesn’t suffice , they should maintain the reliability.

My wife parked the car in the garage and we noticed a puddle of gas below the car. After determining that we had a real issue we had it towed to an independent service provider. After inspection by the mechanic he noted that the plastic retainer clip on the fuel pump flange (Jaguar Part C2P24406) was broken allowing the fuel line to come out of the fuel pump/filter flange (see photo) and just pumped gas onto the cars undercarriage and ground. Luckily, this must have happened right before she came home. In the initial diagnosis of the problem by me I ended up starting the car in the garage and it just pumped about a gallon of gas onto the garage floor. By the way, just opening the driver's door activates the fuel pump -- so without even starting the car it would pump gas onto the car/garage floor. I was extremely worried that there would be a fire or explosion (possibly by the hot water heater in the garage igniting the fumes). After the mechanic informed me of the problem, I searched and noted that the 2010/11 Jaguar XF had a very similar (if not exact) problem and was recalled for this issue. There were no indicator lights/warnings of this problem occurring. I did not file an insurance claim or have anyone else look at the problem. I initially called the local Tucson Jaguar dealer to have it service there (that would be my preference), but the dealer informed me that it would be a month before they could even look at. Thus, I had it towed to a independent service provider. I feel this was a very dangerous failure -- gas pouring out onto the car and ground near the exhaust -- and that we were very lucky to avoid a catastrophic fire or explosion. I feel the issue is the same or related to the 2010/11 recall of the Jaguar XF. I have attached pictures of the defective fuel pump flange taken off my car and a picture of what it should look like. I also added the mechanics invoice for the repair work.

The headliner of the car completely separated from the vehicle. If this happened during driving it would have prevented seeing the road. When presented with the issue the local Jaguar dealer indicated they have had other cars suffer the same issue. It is a known defect that Jaguar has not notified or recalled the vehicle.

Catastrophic "Critical" coolant system failure. Resulting in vehicle completely disabled on the roadside. Police and Fire Dept. responded. I have been communicating with Jaguar North Scottsdale and Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC for resolution. The Coolant System defective parts were identified in 2017, newly designed "y" pipe and outlet pipes, single extruded pipes, have been available since 2018. (See Attached Technical Bulletin). Jaguar has not offered these repairs under warranty or recall to their vehicle owners, rather, shifting the blame on the consumer. JLR has had knowledge and remedy to their disposal and have done nothing to rectify the poorly designed Coolant System, which under many circumstances has also created catastrophic engine failure, warped heads and engine block. The Service Manager at Jaguar North Scottsdale admitted that the, "coolant system was poorly designed at best".Jaguar Forums on the internet are filled with numerous complaints about this issue; this could obviously be rectified through a recall, as evidenced by the fact that JLR Service Departments have available for installation, the redesigned parts. There were no gauges or impending warning messages prior to the "critical alert" message which displayed simultaneously with steam pouring from underneath the hood and exiting the exhaust system.

The car employs a start/stop system to shut the engine when stopped. When it restarts the engine, the idle speed drops to about 400 RPM (half normal idle) and surges when it recovers. It has also stalled several times. I've asked the dealership to fix this, but when at the dealer, the system would not shut the engine so they have not verified the issue. The first safety issue happens if the driver is not expecting the surge resulting in sudden acceleration. The second issue happened when the car stalled at an intersection with other cars trying to get by. This has happened many times since I purchased the car in 2015. The stop/start function stopped working for a period of time when the primary battery was older and weak. Since replacing the batter, this is happening more frequently now. I did find this issue on KBB's website, but not on yours https://www.kbb.com/jaguar/xf/2013/recall/
