  • 2011 JAGUAR XF
    - Rancho Palo Verdes, CA

The contact owns a 2011 Jaguar XF. The contact stated when the vehicle was started, there was an abnormal gasoline odor surrounding the vehicle. The contact stated that there was no gasoline odor inside the cabin of the vehicle, only outside of the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel tank flange assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 67,614.

From Day 1 of purchase, I have been unable to enter the vehicle or start it easily due to a recurring failure of the Transceiver Part # T4K1278. I have had six (6) dealership visits to rectify this concern. The part (T4K8326 Antenna) has been replaced once when I was not able to open the vehicle after multiple attempts. This did not solve the issue. The last dealership visit indicated the Transceiver (T4K1278) was likely the issue but the service advisor told me that the part was not able to be imported due to inherent failure issues. JLRNA (Jaguar Land Rover of North America) has ignored dealership inquiries as well as my own for the last two years. I have been stuck outside the vehicle so many times I cannot count and I have had multiple instances where I was unable to move in traffic due to this flaw. When trying to start vehicle, the dash warning indicates that the "Smart Key" is not present in the vehicle.

During the incident, the contact sustained a neck and head injury which did not require medical treatment. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. No police report was taken. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

Front and rear cameras inoperative below 32F. This happens every winter. Car parked in warm garage overnight. Back out and drive sufficient miles (at least 10?) and find cameras "unavailable" per display message. Cameras in side mirrors work though. The lack of the back up camera violates the FMVSS requirement for the camera to activate within 2 seconds of reverse engagement. I have not yet reported this to the dealer as it requires cold weather conditions to reproduce.

Vehicle has one open recall. Recall has been corrected by Jaguar per their statements. However, refuse to report fix to NHTSA so updates can be made to the database.

Fuel tank is leaking fuel from the top of the tank. Fuel is visibly leaking, I must exit the vehicle to air out and breathe. I’ve had multiple medical visits for headaches. Jaguar/Land Rover has had multiple fuel recalls, but have told me my car is not covered.

Purchased 2022 Jaguar Fpace SVR, delivered in June with no spare key. Ray Catena Jaguar advise Jaguar would supply spare key soon. It is now November and still no spare key. Jaguar Corporate Customer Service, Mahwah, NJ gave a poor response "contact your Retailer Parts Department." Ray Catena did not appreciate that response because Parts Department has no information on spare key. Then sent a email to Yesenia Machuca, Jaguar Public Relations Specialist-not even courtesy of reply. This is a Safety issue "stranded requiring spare key".

The BCCM in a high number of 2019 Jaguar iPace cars are going bad. The BCCM is the main charging component of the vehicle that controls the electrical system and creates a huge hazard and series of malfunctions when it goes bad. It renders the car immobile and you can not charge it. The dealerships and Jaguar North America refuse to recognize this. There is a significant backorder of these parts because of this issue and the dealership mentioned to me that they see this issue ALL THE TIME. Jaguar should be recalling this part for those of us, like myself, whose car is out of warranty.

I have a 2011 Jaguar XJL Supercharged with 65,000 miles that has a knocking noise and is in restricted performance mode. The timing chain and tensioner were replaced by a shop, but that did not fix the issue and I’ve been told there is internal engine damage. The internal engine damage has not been identified. The car itself is in excellent shape, but I don’t know how to proceed to address the internal engine damage as the shop is recommending replacing the engine with a used engine from the salvage yard, but that concerns me as I don’t know the history of the engine from the salvage yard. I've done some research and apparently this is a common issue. Does anyone have any insight on how to proceed with an Arizona recall as this is not normal? Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
