2015 JEEP CHEROKEE Complaints

Second time dealing with misfire on #6 cylinder. Coil failed causing sparkplug to be comprised.

Oil cooler cracked Dec 2022. Oil cooler cracked again Nov 2023. I heard this is an ongoing issue and should be a recall with people having to replace it every single year! Could become a safety issue as it blows spoke all over the place.

On 2 different occasions in the past three weeks, the vehicle has stalled while driving. The instrument panel flashed a Parking Brake Warning each time and then the warning went off. The instrument panel also flashed a transmission warning twice. Each time were driving in traffic when the car just shut off. We took it to the local dealership, they reset the transmission and sent the car home. The car did the same thing 3 more times since the "fix". It has since been towed back to the dealership for repairs.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was not made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the vehicle would intermittently fail to start up after multiple attempts. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the failure was likely related to the transmission. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The contact had to shift the gear shifter back and forth to shift the transmission to park(P). The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check transmission and transmission symbol warning lights would illuminate. The contact stated that due to the failure, the vehicle was unable to be shifted into park(P) while attempting to park the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be repaired. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact stated that the recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number:16V529000 (Power Train) had recently completed on the vehicle and felt that the dealer did not complete the recall repair properly. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

The “service shifter” warning repetitively pops up on the dash obscuring speedometer while traveling including at highway speeds. Dealer says the shifter wiring harness must be replaced at a cost of over $300. This single Jeep dealer says they have had to replace the harness on hundreds of Jeeps & agrees that it should be a matter for mfg recall.

The recall on my vehicle has still not been remedied, nor have I received any information in regards to this recall outside of news coverage and my own checking.

Service shifter light Service shifter light came on and gear shift lights are all red; Reverse, Park, Neutral, Drive. Then a warning message flashed to service the air bag system and the 4wd needs servicing. This has happened three times. The first time it happened was at a stoplight. The second time it happened I could not leave a parking lot. The third time it happened I barley got it toy destination to park it. I have researched that this tends to be a problem with jeeps.
