Vehicle has been having driving issues such as noises and loss of power while driving. Recall for power control module, have been told they can’t give a loaner and they don’t have parts since the recall was issued (01/16/2025) was in the shop while that recall was going on (8 months actually because they couldn’t get parts) because it caused my differentials to lock up, they replaced them but vehicle has still had problems since then and was told there was nothing to be done. Warning signals come on and off when vehicle loses power, all dashboard lights cut on and off and it makes noise when shifting gears or accelerating. I have been terrified to drive it for months because it has just been getting worse and I am currently pregnant and don’t want to put my child at risk if it were to cause a wreck because I was told it could go out at anytime.

SVC 4WD warning indicator light appeared in dash cluster. Vehicle has been taken to two certified Jeep service dealerships. Both have confirmed the issue is with the Power Transfer Unit and that it will need to be replaced. Jeep does not have a replacement PTU for this widely known issue. A recall has been issued for this very problem, but our vehicle and many others from 2019 are not included in the recall. Same issue, same model, same year, but no recall and no part available for repair. Both dealerships have stated that the vehicle should not be driven due to safety concerns for loss of power if the PTU should completely fail. 6 months have passed with no indication of any effort from Stellantis to even repair the recalled vehicles, let alone the same vehicles with the same problem that are not included in the recall. A report was filed with Stellantis.

No known remedy for the PTU recall. I have had the 4WD Service light on for quite sometime now. Please advise on when remedy is available.

Jeep has had an active recall for 1 year with no parts available, my 4 wheel drive no longer functions which is causing a safety risk. My job requires travel to areas that experience snow, I purchased a Jeep to have the option of 4x4 for my safety which is no longer available due to jeeps lack of concern and urgency to repair an issue.

The PTU caused the vehicle to have random grinding sounds from the drive train. There was a service 4wd engine light immediately. Took to the dealer 5/5/25 and was told about the recall of the PTU but no fix was available. I was told to keep driving and the vehicle around late December completely lost all forward gears on the highway. I was luckily able to coast to the shoulder and had it towed back to the dealer. Very lucky to not happen crossing traffic. The check engine light was also on at this point. The dealer informed me that it was in need of a new PTU and that there was still no fix for this problem. This is almost 1 year from the recall being issued. Unacceptable by any standards. Thank you

There was a 4x4 warning light in Dec 2024. The dealership checked and provided a quote for a new PTU, but said we could keep driving until repair, just not to use 4x4. Then we received a recall notice for the PTU from Jeep. Have been trying to get it fixed since. The dealership says there are no parts and no remedy for the recall. The Jeep Recall team says to take it to the dealership to get it fix, pay out of pocket then get reimbursed. The Jeep Recall team does not understand there are no parts available. Twice the recall team has closed the recall case number without following up if the repair was complete. This was my wife's vehicule. In Jan and Feb of 2025 we started to have loss of power while driving in traffic, so it has been sitting idle since. I had a DMV non op on it for time, but reactivated. I was told by Jeep there would be a solution in the fourth quarter of 2025, but that has come and gone. I had to buy a new vehicule for my wife. The Jeep just sits. I tried different lawyers for possible legal action, but they wont take the case, unless the vehicule has been at the dealership waiting to be repair or has been attempted to be repair three times. It has been a long wait for nothing so far.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while at a complete stop in a construction zone, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle made an abnormal grinding sound. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was shifted to neutral(N) and pulled over to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer confirmed that the failure was related to the recall; however, the part needed to repair the vehicle was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

What happened : The vehicle experienced a sudden electrical failure and loss of normal shutdown control. The vehicle would not start or turn over. After repeated attempts, it eventually started, at which point all dashboard lights began flashing uncontrollably. The engine continued running even after the ignition was turned off and the key was removed. The only way to shut the vehicle down was to disconnect the battery. This created a safety concern due to the inability to control the vehicle’s electrical systems or safely shut off the engine. The failure occurred without prior warning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for inspection. Diagnostics confirmed a failure of the Body Control Module (BCM). The Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) was also found to be non-functional and may have been affected by the BCM failure. The vehicle remains inoperable and is awaiting replacement of the BCM, which is currently on backorder with no estimated availability. The failed components are available for inspection upon request. The issue has been confirmed by the dealership. No crash occurred, but the malfunction posed a potential safety risk due to uncontrolled electrical behavior and inability to shut down the vehicle normally.

We have been advised by a Jeep Dealer that this vehicle's PTU is failing and needs to be replaced immediately before the car can be driven again. There is a current recall on other 2019 Jeep Cherokees with the same issue, "Loss of Drive Power from Damaged PTU", but our Jeep is not covered under this recall although it exhibits the same symptoms and is diagnosed with a failed/damaged PTU that needs to be replace. From everything that was reviewed and reviewing the recall it is the same problem that is reflected in the recalls that Jeep made on other 2019 Jeep Cherokees. We have been quoted by the dealership that this is a $3000 fix and when we contact Chrsyler/Jeep, FCA Stellantis customer service, they are not willing to assist with getting this fixed on the vehicle. There appears to be a significant amount of information in the public that this is a known issue for these vehicles. We would like to issue a complaint regarding the matter. I am [XXX] old and have had this car serviced at all recommended intervals. I can be reached at [XXX] . Thank you. Current mileage 120,287 have owned since purchased in 2019. On 12/28/2025 experienced a loud pop and an apparent disconnect of power to drive wheels, place car in neutral and back into drive seemed to drive normal. After driving another 12 miles and turning onto a side road experienced the occurrence again. We began having pops and vibrations as early as 2023 predominantly during an acceleration following a turn. On 10/19/2024, mileage 98,975, I requested maintenance as “developed slack in the drive train. When slowing down it bumps, when accelerating, mostly from a stop, it bangs and slips when shifting”, however despite having a tech drive with me only the hesitation was noticed. The concluded “trans no problem found at this time.” The bangs have intermittently continued but I had never experienced the loss of power like occurred on 12/28/2025.
