This isn't a major concern but just possibly a design defect that could potentially be dangerous in an accident. On March 30 2023 I was involved in an accident on a highway in Pennsylvania where traffic was stop and go. I was stopped, and a car slammed into the back of me going pretty fast. Her car bounced off my bumper and then hit into me again. The car and my seat belt did their jobs and I was not injured. However, afterwards the top of my head felt like it had a bad brush burn. It lasted for several days. When sitting in my car directly after the accident I noticed something odd. Both driver and passenger sun visors were off their hooks and in same position of pushed forward towards windshield under the hook. Because it happened to both of them and they were in the same position I have to surmise that the laws of physics during the accident caused this and that the impact knocked them off the hook and the other vehicle bouncing off and then hitting again caused them to pull back and then fly forward. I believe the movement of the visors so fast is what caused the brush burn on my head. I'm not sure if this is generally something that happens during an accident, but it seems pretty dangerous to me. Luckily I am not that tall and was positioned that the visor skimmed the top of my head. I cannot imagine though if someone was taller what that could potentially do if the visor comes flying at someone's face that fast. This has not been reproduced or confirmed by anyone. My vehicle is still at the body shop awaiting repairs.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for routine service and the mechanic discovered that the lug nuts on all four wheels had swollen and the factory lug tool could not be used to remove the lug nuts. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 47,400.

While driving when I come to a stop and i then start to accelerate when the light changes, the vehicle will start to move, then there is a load hard clunk and then the vehicle looses power. The safety of myself or other ps is put at risk because I could be in moving traffic when this happens. It has not been confirmed by a mechanic, I did ask at the dealer, but they said because the issue is sporadic they would not be able to figure out what the problem was and then recommended a $500 dollar transmission service and said that may not fix the problem. There were no warning lights. This problem happens sporadically, it will do it and then be good for a couple months or longer before doing it again. I emailed molar and asked what they thought, but never heard anything from them. I did see by googling that Jeep had issues with previous years, but it did not cover my year vehicle. I did see just tonight that there was a vehicle in Ohio that had reported this same type of issue to your office. I have 700 miles left on my warranty and I am very concerned about this issue and do not know what to do about. The dealer was not a help, only had a poke and hope approach, so I did not have them look at my vehicle. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

The tire pressure monitoring system light came on. I took it to the dealership and they said there is currently no fix for this problem. The front driver side tire also no longer registers on the warning screen. They said if a tire loses air while I'm driving, it's very possible that I will have no warning that it's happening.

I set my cruise control at a designated speed (70mph) and the vehicle accelerated well beyond…to 83mph before I realized it was still accelerating. I had to hit the cancel Button and turn off cruise control to get it to slow down. Then I set it and it didn’t “set” and kept decelerating.

The PTU failed on a well maintained 2020 Jeep Cherokee Limited. The SVC 4WD warning light came on my vehicle and the 4x4 system is not working. I took the vehicle to a Jeep dealership. The Jeep dealership looked at the issue and said I needed a new battery, which I paid a lot of money for then to install. They said the light would eventually go out. It did not. I had to bring it back and then they performed a diagnostic and inspection of the vehicle and determined that the vehicle has a bad PTU. This is a leased vehicle and I have been having to rent cars for the past month while we wait for a part for over a month. The dealership told me I could drive the car without a problem but it is such a terrible sound that I do not feel it is safe.

Jeep has 36,000 miles, it has a very knotty feeling in the steering wheel when trying drive straight. It feels like the steering wheel gets hung up when trying to slightly turn left/right. Constantly having to chase the road. No wrecks, or accidents on our jeep. It happens at highway speeds and normal city driving as well. I read of a recall for steering gear in 2019-2020 jeep but our jeep is not showing a recall for this problem.

The rare windshield shattered. The vehicle is currently at a Jeep dealership because after the incident I opened a complaint with Jeep corporate and was told to have it towed into the dealership. My child was sitting in the back seat when we heard a loud noise and seen the glass was shattered. Jeep was viewed by police. There were no warning that after warming my car up prior to leave my house that my back windshield would shatter not even a minute into my drive.
