2014 JEEP CHEROKEE- Millbury, MA
It started when I was trying to leave a Walmart parking lot back in October of 2022. I put my Jeep in reverse and it wouldn't backup. There was no car in front of me so I tried to drive forward and I couldn't. After several attempts I finally called AAA and had my car towed to my house till I could find a local mechanic to look at it. I then had it towed again to CS Auto Services in Leominster, MA and he ultimately had to disconnect the emergency brake because he determined the parking brake module was corroded and the only way for me to be able to drive it was to disconnect the emergency brake until one could be ordered and installed by a Jeep dealer. I thought he was ordering the module but I was supposed to so a few months later on Dec 27th I was driving home from Boston and the ABS lights and the pic with the car swerving came on and flashed all the way home. I was terrified driving home but after called a few people we determined since the ABS was used in bad weather I was probably safe, so I drove it home and had it towed to another mechanic the next day. The found 3 pages of codes that ultimately were a result of the corroded module and he said there was nothing they could do so I called the Jeep dealer down the road and got it in. They looked at it and ordered the module and connector. It has taken the better part of a month for the parts to come in but I have an appt Fri., 2/3/23 and was given an est. of $1700.00. I have already spent $500.00 trying to determine the cause of all these problems and I have driving around the last 4 months without an emergency brake. Both mechanics said they have seen this in Jeeps all the time and don't know why Jeep hasn't done a recall on this since it literally locks your gears up so you can't drive. I guess I was a lucky one because I wasn't driving at the time that it happened but it still happened. The contact has paid out-of-pocket for replacements as well as multiple diagnostic tests despite the dealer not being able to repair the issue.

Recently, after evertime I fill up with gas, my jeep stalls out and dies. I don't lose accessories or anything, I lose engine power. My battery like comes on and my dash says "battery voltage low" "put car into park and then desired gear" it takes a few tries to get it started again and it will buck like it wants to stall out or it dies again completely while I'm driving!

My Jeeps Transmission is going into Neutral while I'm driving in the freeway I'm unable to accelerate and at times have lost power in the freeway and it restarts when I put into park or turn it off. when I place on park or turn off, the system restarts. I had a recall supposedly fixed for this issue back in 2016 but the problem restarted again several years ago. I took the jeep to Norco Jeep in California in December 2022 and they stated they would "email Chrysler" and I have sent 3 follow up messages and no replies or responses. The mechanics at the dealership stated there was loss of control because the tires have different measurements. I mentioned to them I replaced all 4 tires 2 years ago and problem has still been ongoing. When the car is about to lose power, the transmission light goes on and starts losing velocity while in the freeway or in the streets ( mostly freeway) from 65 mph to 40, and then 20mph and at times it stops if I'm going uphill and starts rolling back. I am very worried for my safety and the safety of my 3 children and I am sending this email in the event of an accident to proof that I have made attempts to receive assistance. I'm in need of urgent assistance. Thank you

ive had my cherokee for over a year now, the transmission in it isnt great. Shifts funny alot. (hard shifts, late shifts). I was driving on a back road and after a sharp curve where i had to slow down. After exiting the curve i tried to speed up and the transmission jerks so hard it nearly sent me into the opposite lane with incoming traffic. its happened serveal time now over the last year. I have taken it to the dealership to have it look at. I was told "thats just how those 2014s are" "we can try and flash it but theres nothing else we can do. it was just as it should but a see what you are talking about" There were no warning lights on or anything else that would indicate this happening. First appeared september of 2021, one month after purchase. Dealership does know about it and says thats how they are. They always work on my vehicles for me and i trust their judgement. but after the near miss of a head on collision, it has me worried.

the Vehicle has a lot of issues primarily involving the Transmission. The transmission does not shift correctly. The automatic shifting is very erratic. Shift very low sometimes at 2000RPM, and then other times a very high at over 5500RPM. During acceleration, it makes a grinding noise and a very rough shift which can pretty much push you forward from your seat. I took the Vehicle to be serviced several times while still under warranty to the Manhattan Jeep Service Center and every single time they said the computer needed to be updated, and after a few miles, it would go back to doing the same thing, rough shifting.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission suddenly shifted to neutral, and the vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and was restarted. The service transmission warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

Recently every time I fill my car with gas it continuously stalls out of no where afterward then after driving it for a while it will be ok until I need gas again. The car only has 30,000 miles on it and my mechanic said the battery in brand new and the alternator is fine??? This almost caused a major accident pulling out on a 3 lane highway into traffic.

Vehicle began having parking brake issues. After further research I discovered I was not the only person to have this issue. The Electronic Parking Brake Module (EPB) was located on the rear left side of the vehicle next to the spare tire compartment. I removed the EPB and began to shake the part. The part was found to contain a bunch of water that should not have been able to enter the EPB. The vehicle is still inoperable as the EPB will not disengage. The vehicle is not mobile at this time. I just ordered a new EPB Module on 1/21/2023 from MOPAR and was charged $111 for shipping and the part.

Every time I fill the fuel tank and start driving the car dies, lurches or drops out of gear. I get a message on the instrument display that I cannot shift without a compete stop (I did not shift) It's in drive but will not move. This is dangerous as it gets me to the middle of an intersection and its dead. I know this sounds crazy but it's a repeatable problem. And apparently, I'm not the only one.

Service Shifter warning keeps going on. The car's transmission went out at 74,000 miles and I paid for a brand new OEM transmission. 20,000 miles later on the new transmission, it has service shifetr red lights on like other 2014 & 015 Jeep but mine doesn't show as part of that recall
