Upon backing into a parking spot this morning, my EPS dinged and the break light started flashing. The yellow brake indicator light also popped on. I know there is an open investigation into the EPS system right now so this is another case of malfunction. It has not done it while driving, but now I am terrified it might and I am constantly driving my car. Nothing has been inspected as of yet.

MANUFACTURE DEFICT!!! 2014 cherokee limited, only 25000 miles, the transmission slips into neutral, then stalls once slowed down and requires driver to shift to park; also at red-light, dash will alert to park to shift in gear, then stalls while in traffic; both dealer and independent service center confirmed. engine light comes on, but lights and codes reset with restart. VERY Dangerous and has been a noted Recall in 2019 as a software/electrical correction, yet still occurs since recall; Jeep/Chrysler should fix or offer compensatory vehicle if unrepairable...NOT a failed transmission

I placed my Jeep into park at a drive thru ATM, once I finished my transaction, the parking brake independently engaged while attempting to shift to drive. I was finally able to disengage the parking brake after many attempts by holding down the parking brake button and shifting to drive with my foot on the gas pedal at the same time. I managed to pull out of bank lot and made a left turn at 15 mph, once I got into the right lane safely, I released the parking brake button but then the parking brake immediately engaged as the service parking brake message displayed. I was unable to move the vehicle and my jeep was towed to Paul Bailey's (Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram) dealership in North Kingstown, RI. My jeep was evaluated that coming Monday, 6-6-22 when tech found codes in system for electronic parking brake. The tech then removed carpets and discovered standing 12 inches of water retained in the spare tire compartment as well as major corrosion in module. The tech tested vehicle and found leaking through the sheet metal seams at top of both sides of tailgate which he then cleaned and resealed. The tech stated that the water had led to an electrical shortage [of the EPB module], which caused the failure. He replaced park brake module, spliced in new 30-pin connector for park brake module and then reassembled vehicle. The tech cleaned sunroof drains of debris causing overflow onto headliner and removed headliner to confirm repairs and clean. The tech also removed rear fascia, resealed body seams behind lights and bumper. I notified the manufacturer of the failure but offered no assistance at all. The vehicle was repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer until July 18th for a total of over 6 weeks with no rental car discounts from Jeep dealership or help from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 53,631 miles. If my 2yr old and 4yr old were in my jeep on the highway at 65mph, this would be a tragedy and possibly a fire explosion!!!

My vehicle will shift roughly, sometimes surging before switching gears. This is more pronounced after refueling. Additionally, sometimes immediately after refueling, the vehicle will sputter and die when trying to pull away from the pump. Attempting to turn it back on may take a few tries before its successful. The battery light may come on, but the battery has been confirmed as not the issue. Having my vehicle shut down mid drive after fueling to where I can't steer it or move it out of the way is extremely unsafe! I just took it to the dealership. They completed a recall involving a powertrain software update, but did have any explanation for why my car would randomly die after getting gas.

Transmission, at least it is what I have been told by Jeep technicians. My vehicles transmission has been changed twice because it hard shifts and slides. It is currently doing it again and the technician stated he cannot submitted agains as it is a known issue can can only submit it to warranty if it is severe. On multiple occasions when parked and shifting to reverse, the vehicle jumps back because of the hard shift, putting me close to hitting other parked vehicles. While driving, the transmissions slides from each shift, making it extremely unpredictable in power transfer to tires. I cannot use the vehicle off-road because of this, I am concerned that it can jerk and put me in an uncontrolled and unsafe position. This is extremely frustrating as I bought the vehicle of its marketed off-road capabilities while living in Colorado. I bought the vehicle in November 2021 and the first transmission change was on December 7, 2022. The second transmission change occurred on September 1, 2022, although it was approved for service on August 7, 2022. Both times, the vehicle was in the repair shop for 7 days with no rental vehicle provided. The vehicle does not feel safe to operate with the hard shifting and jerks, it feels like the transmission is falling apart as your are driving, I only use it to work as I have little to no option. Lastly, the Jeep authorized repair technician denied to inspect the transmission on my last visit to the repair shop.

Service 4 wheel drive light was coming on intermittently. Had been for just a few days. Driving in a parking lot and all of a sudden the car slips into neutral. Dash board indicated car must be in park to change gears. So I pressed break moved gear shifter to park then drive and continued on my way. It did this several more times before I was able to get it to the transmission shop. I am just glad I wasn’t driving 75 on the freeway and it slips into neutral. There I was told it was the transfer case and would cost 4,000. The consumer stated the vehicle would hesitate after stopping when the vehicle was originally purchased and feels she needs to be reimbursed for the repairs.
