Service Shifter lights up on the instrument panel as well as the check engine also stop/start not ready. 4x4 not available exhilarates and UN exhilarates all by its own. Shifts hard and jumps hard when I take off at a stop light don't wanna come out of park unless I take my finger and flip up a plastic thing down inside the shifting housing. And the key fobe won't come out of the key switch. No it hasn't been in a crash yet but it's one looking for a place to happen if jeep don't have a recall. Yes my jeep has been confirmed by the Dodge dealership in Lexington Kentucky. They say that it needs a new shifter put in it I'm taking it to the dealership this coming Thursday

My Jeep Year, Model, and Make have a recall out for the PTU system (within the last year). When I checked my VIN number on here it said My Jeep was not part of the recall. I believe the recall should be extended outside its current limits. Just last week I had to take my Jeep in because my PTU went bad and could have potentially been dangerous if I had not taken it in (loss of power to transmission etc.). On top of that, since according to NHTSA (really FCA), my jeep isn't affected by the recall but clearly it is. So I have to pay to get it replaced out of pocket for a defective unit!

while I was driving a was coming to a complete stop and the jeep stalled on me and said a quick message on the dash about shifting i tried to start it again and it took a second to kick over. Its done this twice today and has been doing it at least once a day. This is a serious problem especially if I happen to be on the highway or going threw an intersection.

While driving home from work. The rear of my vehicle made a sudden shifting forward / jarring effect. Soon after that a notification came up saying "4WD unavailable and a ding lighting saying to service 4WD. Then all went away. My boyfriend called dealership and explained to our service advisor @ New Carlisle CDJR dealer the situation and told us to bring it in today. While driving there the 4WD indicator to service came back on and that 4WD was unavailable again. But at the dealer he could not pull it up on computer. After reminding him of the jarring effect, he decided to test drive it. As soon as a pulled out he knew something was wrong. They put it up on a lift and found the rear differential housing was CRACKED all the way around. I was lucky to be able to get it there without incident! I wonder how many other jeeps are getting ready to explode the rear end like mine and others I have read about! Hopefully FCA will release a recall on this life threatening issue that could cause a fatality!

Hello! My service 4WD light came on in my vehicle. The dealership stated that I need to replace my PTU which will cost me approximately $2200. I researched Jeep and see that there were some recalls regarding this same issue with Jeep Cherokee Limited 2015. I searched my VIN# and there appears to be no pending recalls. I’m asking to speak with someone further regarding my PTU concerns since there was an apparent issues with select models. My vehicle may also be one of those affected. I would appreciate a response. I can reached via email at [XXX] or via phone [XXX]. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Headlights do not point far enough down the road, making it difficult to see while driving at night especially on country roads or when raining.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power causing the vehicle to jerk back and forth and eventually stall. After a few minutes, the contact restarted the vehicle and was able to continue to their destination, however, the failure persisted several times thereafter. The contact noticed after doing an oil change the vehicle would consume a lot of oil and shortly after the oil change check engine warning light would illuminate. The contact checked the oil level and found the level low. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer to have it inspected, but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The failure continued and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the failure was diagnosed as a multi-air actuator with the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage 143,000.

My Jeep dashboard goes black, the vehicle stops in the middle of traffic. When I start the vehicle back up and shift it into drive it make a sound like I got rear ended. The transmission light comes on and the vehicle will only go about 20 mph. The check engine lights stays on. This has happened numerous times. The dealership kept the vehicle for 2 weeks, gave it back to me and stated they could not find anything wrong with it.

While driving my jeep forward or in reverse my jeep launches forward very hard. I have to press on the brake abruptly so that I don't hit anything. Also when accelerating my speedometer shows the numbers increasing but my wheels are barely moving then it kicks forward abruptly. When turning or going over bumps I feel a pop in the steering column and sometimes the dashboard icon with the vehicle & squiggly lines under it appears. I told my dealership but the mechanic just said there is nothing wrong with it even though I know there is.

I have to have the PTU replaced because it went. It’s not even 6 years old and there’s been a recall on the PTU for my make and model and year, yet they’re saying not my vehicle. It’s costing thousands of dollars.
