One day while we were driving, shifting became very slow and harsh. A few miles later, vehical slowed down enormously out of nowhere, and service brakes and transmission lights came on. No 4wd, no traction control available etc. Gigantic safety hazard, especially. With no prior indications or warnings.

At a stoplight or red light, the car will sometimes start revving up, like it wants to go, while my foot is on the brake. The check engine light will then come on, and It'll then come up with a notification on the dash saying "Shift to P then desired gear". The photo is also attached. This is very annoying, as it happens while driving too. When it comes up during driving, when you press the gas, it will not go any faster and starts slowing down. This is dangerous and needs fixed. Took it to the garage, and they couldn't figure out what is happening, even with the check engine light!

My vehicle shutsdown repeatdly in the middle of the road without any warning and I was even about to have an accident many times because of the sudden shutdown and now I get it diagnosed because of another SVC 4WD light turning on. It came out to be a power transmission unit/failure which need to be fixed.

Wife and I were towing our 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk behind our 28,000 LB Motorhome and it began to shake and wobble so bad we had to pull over. We got 35 miles from our Home base in Ohio. Sat on the side of the road about 20 min and took off again toward an exit about a mile ahead. It did not wobble so we drove on. About 30 miles later it did it again. After it did it 5 times in 80 miles we decided to have the Jeep hauled home and put away for the Winter and we left for the South.

When the fuel tank is filled, to the first click off of the pump. The vehicle will stall, sputter, and is hard to accurate. The dealer has all ready replaced the fuel tank, evap line, and a puger valve, but still has the same problems. I have almost getting rear ended when it stalls a couple of times. Still has been going on for 2+ year. Vehicle drives fine after 30ish miles after filling it up.

Power Transfer Unit broke free from mounting bracket and transmission. PTU transfers engine power to the all wheel drive system. Dealership inspected vehicle and determined several bolts holding the PTU to the transmission were missing. It appears that the bolts were never installed at the factory. Google search shows many similar cases with 2014 Jeep Cherokee. All 2014 Jeep Cherokees must be recalled and inspected for this factory flaw, and fixed at manufacturer's expense.

After my recalls were addressed with a dealership. I picked up my car and had no speedometer when I turned my car on. And it warned me to service shifter. This is on the start up after recall corrections. Later it started to act like it was trying to shift. Mostly under load conditions driving along. In or out of cruse. It acted like water in the gas,, but that's not the problem. It also started to shift funny slower than it did before. The lights blink on the shifter and and manual will not engage or show up on screen. Could it be caused by my shifter lights?
