Check engine light on 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport turned on, vehicle "went limp". Pulled over, turned car off, waited, turned car back on. Happened again taking car to dealership. The dealership said "code for trans range sensor p1726. reset trans and test drove. code did not come back". Same thing happened again a week later. Took it to Firestone, code was "TCM P1726-00 Transmission Manage Sensor "C" circuit High. They said it sounded like the Recall Number 16V529000/S55. I took it back to the dealership, they said the recall, despite being for a 2015 Jeep Cherokee didn't apply and noted "Same code P1726 set in TCM. Going to need range sensor and TCM replaced."

2015 Jeep Cherokees is not functioning and I'm getting flashing parking brake light. There is water corrosion, which can cause the brake to activate unexpectedly. I did not have any spills in the cargo area of my vehicle. I believe it is from water coming into the wheel well. I took the car to the dealership and they claimed it would cost me $5000 to replace not only the Parking Brake module, but the whole connection to the body harness. I currently do not have a parking brake. I am aware there is a known Service Report for this issue.

The vehicle suddenly started showing parking brake, traction, ABS, and check engine lights after being started. Earlier in the day, I had also started the vehicle but cancelled the errands and returned to start it later when the dashboard and warning lights came on. Putting it in reverse, the steering was stiff as if in neutral. Never left the driveway as I wasn't taking a chance in steering or braking. The battery is less than a year old. This is the second time this has happened.

Vehicle was driving and working just as it should, up until two mornings ago, I start the jeep, shifted into gear and it got stuck in neutral. Service parking brake came on, traction control claims to be on even after pushing the button a couple different times to try and disengage it, odometer flashes when car is fully on(not in acc mode), check engine light is on. Battery was recently replaced and is good so it’s not the battery. Jeep still starts, but is still stuck in neutral as of yesterday morning(9-23-2025).

My 2015 Jeep Cherokee Vin [XXX] threw a code on the ptu.I saw that it had a extended warranty on the car. When i took it to the dealer they informed me that car was imported to canda when bought. The car was brought back to United States work was done on the powertrain twice while the car was in Us and extended warranty was then issued for the ptu.The dealer told me the car was pending a recall as of yet the vin was not issued for recall. When i contacted Chrysler they informed that since the car was imported to Canada that warranty was voided. If possible to know if my car is coming up on recall list. Or if i can get further assistance in this issues i never know that a car can get imported to Canada then back to Us would have these issues. I was not informed by the dealer that i bought the auto from that the car was imported from Canada i never know that it would be an issues on this matter I wouldn't have bought the car had i known this issues i would be facing .Any help or guidance in this matter would be appreciated. The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the “Service 4WD” warning light was illuminated. In addition, the “Service 4WD” warning light was flashing on and off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a power transfer unit failure. The contact was informed that the power transfer unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a power transfer unit failure. The contact was informed that because the connection point was worn, the power transfer unit needed to be replaced. The contact referenced an unknown recall which had a similar failure description; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

UNKNOWN - The "Service 4WD" and "Service Parking Brake" warning lights are on. My mechanic said that the PTU needs to be replaced and that this is a known issue with this model. It should be a recall item.
