2017 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints

Hello! its been 2 years since i bought my 2017 grand cherokee laredo, and I am reporting HUDSON CYRSLER RAM IN JERSEY CITY for selling car with mileage discrepancies, I bought and paid for the mileage that i did not use, in the mile showing in contract that i paid is 36,400 miles , the mileages of the car they give it to me is 41,900miles. The miles showing the stickers /pricelist when they selling is different mileages, and when i sign i noticed that this not match to the contract snd the car that they gave me, the car that i paid is with 36,400miles not for 40kmeage, this is odo meter fraud miles decrepamcy

The contact was able to continue driving; however, the vehicle lost 4-WD functionality. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving and the vehicle was shuddering significantly. The contact was able to drive to his residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the power transfer unit (PTU) had failed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 61,050.

When driving the vehicle it's like the transmission is slipping through the first few gears then all of a sudden it takes off. if you try to accelerate it just winds up and then bang it takes off. when coming to a stop it downshifts hard. When driving around a corner you slow down your foot off the pedal, then when you get through the corner you go to accelerate again and it has a dead spot, no power, it's like it died and you have nothing then again it takes right off. Really dangerous, I first thought the car was dead, with no power but then it takes off like a rocket. It acts worse when the start-stop button is depressed so that the engine stops at red lights or when the vehicle comes to a stop. If you turn that off the vehicle seems to run a little better but still cuts out. Almost like someone flicking a light switch off and on with the power of the vehicle. The dealership says they are booked out until March 25th to even take a look at it.

I was driving back home and was travelling at around 30miles/hr on a street. All of a sudden my car dashboard started flashing and all the indicators in the dashboard started to flash.. The vehicle started to accelerate and brake at the same time... The engine made a strange weird sound. I had to put the emergency parking lights and pull over slowly. Luckily I was closer to home, so drove back home with the hazard lights on.. The car moved very slowly with the engine accelerating and braking at the same time. Next day, I had the car towed to the dealership and they also saw the same issue. They indicated the Throttle Control Module was behaving erratically and have to re-flash it.

I was driving this vehicle on a sunny 38 degree day on the highway when my front sunroof exploded. The glass was broken upwards, no rock or debris hit the glass. It spontaneously shattered.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the battery and window switch; however, the failure persisted. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet notified. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

My car recently started making a grinding noise that got bad really fast. I had it towed to the dealership to get a diagnostic test done. I was told that it was my transfer case that was making the noise. Now this caught me by surprise because I had no warning lamps on my dashboard or no messages alerting me of any problems that would point to it needing servicing done it just happened out the blue. Because of this problem my car has a hard time accelerating and this is no good to me because I live in Atlanta Georgia where there is nothing but Highway and hills. My car makes a constant grinding noise no matter how fast I’m going or how hard I press on the gas. With the acceleration of the vehicle being bad I have almost been in a few incidences where people have almost rear ended me. An inspection by the manufacturer has not been done as of yet. I would just like to know what can be done about this especially because my car STILL has no warning lamps and the grinding is so bad that I can no longer drive it.

I am having difficulty pumping gas the pump continually shuts off. I Am upset that during snowstorm to get home i was unable to fillup causing me to get stranded. I thought the nhtsA was here to ptotect us.

The contact stated that numerous attempts were made before the vehicle started. The contact stated that the check engine and Stop/Start lights were illuminated. The contact had driven the vehicle to an Auto Parts store where it was diagnosed and determined that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V699000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

The UConnect touch screen in my vehicle is “delaminating” causing phantom touches to the touch screen. This is an extreme safety hazard due to it causing distractions to the driver when attempting to use the touch screen/radio/etc for its intended purpose. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by Jeep to my knowledge. The component has not been inspected. There were no warning signs.
