2018 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints

Driving and the display screen kept switching uncontrollable and caused a safety issue while I was driving and was not in a familiar place, and was trying to use the screen for navigation directions. Concern as it was switching screens/adjusting the heat controls while I was driving. Research indicates my screen has become delaminated and a known issue with this car. Concern that while I drive this continues and may be a safety risk.

BUBBLE IN SCREEN SYSTEM ACTING FUNKY I JUST PURCHACED THE JGC ON 01/16/2024 THE NEXT DAY THE SCREEN GOES NUTS CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE GHOSTING ME VERY UNHAPPY FIRST TIME JEEP OWNER

Delamination of radio is causing the radio to change radio channels, not be able to use the handless phone option or adjust heated seats. The constant beeping when the radio is constantly and randomly changing channels is a safety hazard. FCA is aware of the issue and has not issued a recall and is denying repairs for the consumers.

1. My instrument panel screen is completely non-functional due to delaminating / experiencing delamination. It is available for inspection upon request. 2. I can no longer manage the air flow in order to properly defog my windows. I was driving on a highway, the windows were fogging up, and I could not defog my windows. It was incredibly dangerous to myself and the other cars around me as I could not see them. I can also no longer make phone calls through the car as it would randomly hang up or mute the calls. 3. It is a constant problem, and has been rendered permanently disabled. 4. It has been inspected and confirmed by others, yes. 5. The screen started to bubble in one corner (now half of the screen has bubbled), and random places on the screen were being "ghost pressed" causing the instrument panel to behave sporadically and trigger all sorts of random functions. This starting happening about 4 years after purchasing it brand new from the Ramsey, NJ Jeep dealership and has progressively gotten much worse to the point of being completely unusable. Every time while I am driving it performs random actions which are incredibly distracting. Changing the radio stations, skipping songs, making random calls, cancelling / or modifying my GPS directions. It is completely possessed. At this point I leave it off most of the time, but do need to use it for certain features, but it's highly distracting and unsafe at this point.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and turned off, the brake light remained illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the recall repair was completed in May of 2023 and the failure reoccurred immediately after the recall repair was completed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

1.At 63263 miles ADAS front Parking sensor and at 96000 miles Active park assist modules are failing with a pop up message asking for a service. The parts are working intermly but, I believe it could potentially mislead the driver when parking using Active Park assist and can cause and injury or damage if the safety system fails. It was inspected by a dealer before but exact diagonisis was not provided. 2. Air Suspension system warning came up at around 96000 miles. I immediatly took it to a dealer who charged 1800+ dollars to inspect and replaced a valve block mentioning C1556 code and said the poblem was sorted. I checked my car and the system warning still exists. They took the car immediatly and kept for 4 days and mentioned the air compressor in air suspension could be weak and over heating causing it to fail. They mentioned there were no leaks on any air bags of the suspension and quoted a 3400$ additional cost of repair. I believe the inital diagonisis was incorrect or not up to the mark (the part is available for inspection) from the dearlership as there were no clear indication of what was the root cause. This suspension failure could cause the ride height to fail any time and can cause imbalance while stopping the vehicle at higher speeds as it has an Aero mode. The air ride system is working intermily depending on the climatic conditions the components are malfunctioning which has to be addressed by the FCA group.

I purchased a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The second I left the lot, the screen started flashing the Clock Settings screen. I researched this and it states that it's a known issue because the screen delaminates. I purchased a warranty and the company will not cover it. This is a SAFETY HAZARD. From hours of research, this issue has been known and Jeep needs to do a recall on this. If someone gets hurt pertaining to the disfunction of the screen and it's options, there will be a lawsuit and I don't think Jeep wants to deal with that. Hi, I’ve noticed with this Jeep and the two newer cars before it would have my dash lit up when my headlights weren’t on. This is giving me and other drivers of these cars the false impression that my headlights must be on. So many folks are driving with either just fog lights or no lights at all because their dash is lit up. Before this technology your dash would be dim and that way you knew you needed to turn your headlights on. This is becoming so common I see 1-2 every day home from work. Before this new technology it was maybe 1 a year. Please research or ask around about this since there doesn’t seem to be regulation around it. Thanks very much! With less than 40k miles on my vehicle the leather dash on my Jeep has begun to delaminate. I'm concerned for the way this will impact the front passenger airbag to deploy in the event of a collision. Additionally this causes a viability issue due to the glare at certain times of the day when the sun is shining through the windshield and onto the dash.

UConnect navigation system shows current location as West Virginia but vehicle is in Missouri. If attempted to use or refer to onboard compass associated with system would result in significant driving direction/location mis-information. Software is current up to date for system; system is currently inoperable in this condition. Prior to this however navigation and compass were working correctly. Review of numerous Jeep online forums shows this navigation system failure to be quite common and likely requires complete radio/information system replacement. Why has no recall been issued?
