2021 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints

When driving above 30 MPH and going over a bump the car shakes and wobbles Violently feeling like the tires and steering wheel will fall off. This has been referred to as the “death wobble.” The car has some warranty remaining and is going in for repair with an authorized Jeep dealer.

The contact leased a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the instrument panel lights were flickering. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where unknown software updates were performed; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light and the service warning light were illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 30 minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown software update was performed; however, the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: RQ24012 (Electrical System, Engine). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

All codes began to display, errors delaying to charging port initially then gradually progressed. car would not turn on and would not move had to be towed to dealer ship.

Approaching red light and the vehicle came to a sudden stop. Message popped up on dashboard to place into park and start vehicle. Vehicle would not start and could not shift into neutral to move off of road. Message then appeared to plug car in to calibrate battery. Had car towed to my house, plugged car into charging station and message popped up to service charging system. Car will not start.

Started my jeep this morning and the indicator light for my airbag came on saying it needed service.

Attempted to pull onto highway and lost propulsion. Dash lights lit up. The vehicle was powered off and upon starting it back up it multiple times it displayed the “service charging system” error. I was ability to limp home with limited propulsion and had the vehicle towed to the dealer on 8/8/2024. Dealer was great to work with and stated that the vehicle needed a new HV battery. The processing time for the part was 10-14 days after approval from Stellantis engineering. 8/29 still no vehicle, but was told that the part would arrive this week. 33k miles 2021 Wrangler Sahara 4xE

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,986.

DEATH WOBBLE. Loose, or misaligned mechanical parts shake violently when driving on highway causing the “wobble” in the front end steering and suspension. Exactly the same way the 2018 and 2019 Jeep issue occurred, as noted by NTHSA in 2019.

Driving on the expressway and a rock from a vehicle in front of me hit the top right corner of the windshield causing small pieces of glass to scatter on the inside of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle lost electrical power. The contact coasted to the side of the road. The contact stated that several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle before being able to continue driving the vehicle. The failure had occurred a second time. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic retrieved DTC code: POE787; and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V787000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V787000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.
