2021 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints

ON NOVEMBER 2022 I HAD THE FIRST LOST OF POWER ON MY JEEP WRANGLER 2021 4XE SAHARA, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ON THE CARPOOL LANE ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN LEAVING ME, MY MOM, MY AUNT AND MY SERVICE DOG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE [XXX] IN LOS ANGELES WHICH HIGH TRAFFIC FREEWAY WITH NO POWER TO KEEP MOVING I COULD HAVE GET KILLED AND MY FAMILY AS WELL. AFTER THAT THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIRS FOR THE SAME ISSUE ANOTHER FOURTEEN (14) TIMES. CHRYSLER WONT ANSWER TO OUR REQUESTS. After charging my vehicle, I received a “Service Charging System” followed by a check engine light. I tried to shift gears from P (parking) to R (reverse) and it wouldn’t let me. When I finally got it to drive, my vehicle was only throwing hot air and it wouldn’t accelerate. I was going about 20 miles per hour and it loss all the speed. When I got to the light and tried to accelerate again, it moved for like 10 seconds and I wasn’t able to accelerate again leaving me stopped at the intersection for about 30 seconds. Once I was able to move again, my vehicle would stall.

- loss of power -lag in gas pedal response - struggles to go up hills - lunges forward at times - its a 2021 and starting to have corrosion issues

While climbing a mountain pass between 2000' and 2500' MSL and passing some vehicles at approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost power and multiple warning lights illuminated. These included: Service Electronic Throttle Control, Check Engine Light, Automatic Emergency Brake system failure, Adaptive Cruise Control system failure. After the initial power loss, the engine seemed to partially recover and could be driven below 60 mph until the vehicle was shut down and restarted. There were no signs or warnings of any impending failure. The coolant, engine oil, and transmission temperatures were well below the published limits. The danger was the power loss was sudden, unexpected, and at a critical time when passing large trucks and in the vicinity of heavy traffic with no emergency parking available. This reported event is the fourth time it has occurred. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer to repair it, and the dealers have attempted three times to fix it (all three times dealer fixed something different). All three times they reported the issue had been fixed, yet it has re-occurred after each time. It is currently scheduled for a fourth dealer visit.

My jeep quit while driving down [XXX] . I was the only one in the vehicle and was in the left lane. I pulled to the shoulder and shut down the vehicle. I could not get it to drive after I restarted. Vehicle was in the Jeep Dealer Garage 3 times within first 6 months of purchase. It would not start, it wouldn't turn over. Absolutely nothing. First time in they said my wife must have done something wrong because the next day it worked fine. Next time it happened to me, again I must have done something wrong because next day it was fine and they couldn't find a problem. Third time they found something (not sure what) but assured us problems were over. Next incident was January 2024, car now out of warranty and I was told it needed 2 new batteries at a cost of $800. Next incident is now, Vehicle wouldn't start and I had to get a jump to drop it off at dealer again. Next day they tested batteries and said they were good. Vehicle is still there 4 days later because they don't know.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the “Shift to Park and Restart" message was displayed. The contact's wife was able to pull the vehicle to the side of the road and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but no failure was found. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

My wrangler 4xe stalled during driving twice even after the 2022 software update was done. I was unable to regain any power to the vehicle and had to have it towed to a dodge dealership for repairs.

I took my 2021 Jeep Wrangler to the dealership for the clutch recall, which has been completed. However, my Jeep is now stalling and they cannot seem to figure out what the problem is. They repeatedly tell me that it is a "software issue" but there is not resolution to this software issue. My vehicle cannot be safely driven. Each time the clutch is released and the gas is engaged, the vehicle stalls. There was an announcement sent to dealerships to suspend the completion of the recalls on 2021 Jeep Wranglers as there is an issue. Additional communication was expected on June 27, 2024. The service manager at the dealership called me yesterday to inform me that the Jeep engineers are aware of the problem but there is no fix and there is not anticipated timeline on the fix.

Jeep issued a recall number 19A in 2022. It's been two years with the company providing no solution or fix. The vehicle is designed for off-road use. The recall states that the failure could cause a fire. I would not like to be off-road and cause a fire in the forest. I've called the company multiple times.
