2021 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints

The contract owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V787000 (Electrical System), where the high voltage battery pack software and other updates were updated. The contact stated that after receiving the repair the vehicle started to run rough while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the charging indicator was fluctuating, the RPM was fluctuating, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle also ran rough while attempting to accelerate. The power would fail, and the vehicle would restart while driving at various speeds. The vehicle had been taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery had failed. The dealer performed more software updates; however, the failure persisted. The dealer stated that the battery pack assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired due to the dealer waiting for parts to be available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 34,000.

There has been an open recall 19A/NHTSA 23V-116 on my vehicle's CLUTCH since February of 2023. Last summer (2023) a dealer told me they didn't know when the part would be available. Last week another dealer told me the same thing and that he had seen some clutches on the JL Wrangler fail. This is a significant risk to me because I take this vehicle on off road trails with features require frequent and sometimes prolonged use of the clutch. The manufacturer, Stellantis/FCA, has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy What's incredible to me is that in July 2015 NHTSA issued a consent order because FCA was failing to address over 20 recalls in a reasonable amount of time, and here they are doing the same thing!

When I encounter a bump in the road or uneven pavement at highway speeds, the jeep begins to wobble violently (being shook like a bag of popcorn). I have to release the gas and slow down for it to stop. This has happened numerous times over the past 2 years. I didn't report it previously as I thought it was just a jeep thing and poor manufacturing. Now that I have become aware that it is prevalent in the Wrangler for years and most likely a part (suspension damper or bushings) issue, I am reporting it.

The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle was wobbling violently from side to side and pulling toward the opposite lane. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving and exceeding 40 MPH on bumpy road surfaces. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the steering shock absorber system needed to be upgraded to a double steering shock absorber system. The dealer informed the contact that the repair could not be covered under the warranty. The contact declined to pay for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they were waiting for the dealer to submit a claim with the diagnostic report. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

NHTSA Recall # 23V-116 has been active since February 23, 2023 but the status is "Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available". The recall has been active for almost 14 months with no solution. I do not consider this to be reasonable amount of time for a safety recall to be incomplete with no remedy.

The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Vehicle often had a burning clutch smell after driving on interstate. This has been ongoing for a couple years now. Jeep has not issued any guidance or fix for this issue. The vehicle is unable to be sold.

The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The clutch pressure plate was recalled in February 2023 and they still have not repaired. Seems unreasonable to have a recall for 13 months with no remedy

Jeep death wobble. Same problem as the 2018/2019 models. Over 45 mph and/or hit a bump and the Jeep wobbles uncontrollably and won’t stop until you slow to almost a stop. Incredibly dangerous for highway driving. There are no warning signs before it happens. This happened to me on a congested and fast moving highway.
