2021 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints

On 12/12 around 2pm PST, I brought in my Jeep Rubicon 4XE to the dealership to fix the fire risk but was denied service and a repair order. Sunnyvale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram The dealership was in Sunnyvale Ca. 94087 1176 W El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 I must be able to recharge my battery and use the hybrid functionally asap. I also have no where to park my Jeep but inside my garage as I live in a HOA housing development with limited parking. My family feels terrified and we would like to have the Jeep fixed ASAP or bought back.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V787000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

FCA US LLC issues a Safety Recall - B9A/NHTSA 23V-787 - indicating that a high voltage battery defect could cause the vehicle to catch fire with the ignition on or off. The Safety Recall instructed owners and lessees not to operate the vehicle, charge it, park it inside or near structures, or park it near other vehicles. Essentially, FCA US LLC instructed owners and lessees to park their vehicles in a field. The cause of the issue is unknown and no remedy is available, nor is FCA US LLC able to provide an estimated delivery or timeline for a remedy. I contacted FCA Support for more information, as instructed by the Safety Recall notice. FCA US LLC Support indicated that I should continue to operate the vehicle and should schedule a service appointment with a dealership. This is in direct conflict with the "Important Safety Issue" identified by FCA US LLC in its notice, which "can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside of the vehicle, as well as property damage." In other words, FCA has instructed me to continue operating a vehicle it has deemed unsafe. Alternatively, the vehicle is rendered totally inoperable and no remedy has been offered. When contacting FCA US LLC, the representative I spoke with was unable to provide any information and ultimately hung up on me. This response is wholly unacceptable when FCA US LLC has deemed the vehicle unsafe.

I've confirmed with the my Jeep dealer and the NHTSA that there's a safety recall for the battery on my Wrangler 4xe possibly catching fire. There's currently no remedy. It's the third recall on this vehicle. I'm also wondering why Jeep or anyone has contacted me about this. I had to find out on the internet then make phone calls to confirm. Telling us to no park our cars next to building or other cars is unrealistic. Like where?? up in the mountains? We are in southern California. I'd like some answers very fast. My car started shaking out of control. I was on highway. Could not get over or stop for a bit. Could have been an accident. There was a car behind me and on the side of me. I have taken it to the Jeep Dealership. It has happened 3x without warning. Online this is called the "death wobble"

Vehicle at highway speeds shakes uncontrollably and makes you slow down to maintain control also causes you to vear into other lanes when trying regain control. It happens all the time at those speeds and have to park the vehicle and not drive. Jeep is having hard time finding parts. My vehicle is all factory stock and no modifications have been made to it. Very scary and very very dangerous to drive

Death Wobble. When traveling over 45 mph and Jeep hits a bump or even mild uneven area in asphalt it can occur. It is unpredictable as it will not always happen. Vehicle has varying degrees of severity in shaking, threatening to become out of control and cause accident. It will force you to try and slow which is not easy and pull off highway until it stops. Dealership (in Manassas) sold this vehicle to us this past March and Dealership in Fredericksburg (Stafford CDJ) left us without a rental car until replacement part comes in. They have been horrible about responding and getting in touch to resolve this issue and did not give us a rental call even though our warranty covers it. It has become apparent it will put our lives at danger and others.

I took this jeep to the dealer and they repaired it per my invoice. I am still receiving messages that the recall is still open from corporate jeep. The NHTSA also says the recall is still open. I called the dealer and they can’t help me or see no recall?

When driving around 65-70 mph and hit a slight bump, the vehicle shacks violently and you must slow down to about 50mph. There is no warning or any other indication the issue was about to happen. This was replicated several times over the next few days. This was a safety issue as the steering became difficult to control and slowing down to below 50 on a major highway increased risk for a rear end collision. The vehicle has been inspected by a dealer and will need new steering stabilizer. Unfortunately the parts are unavailable at this time and the jeep cannot be driven on highways until repairs are made.
