2020 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints

The contact owned a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that there were strong fumes coming from the vehicle, causing the contact to sustain severe headaches and nausea. The contact had gone to the Doctor's Office, where blood work was completed. The contact was informed that no issues were found, and the Doctor inquired whether the contact had been exposed to any chemicals. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that fuel was leaking from a cracked quick connect and was entering the high fuel pump. The dealer determined that the high-pressure fuel pump lines needed to be replaced. The dealer related the failure to an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated while driving approximately 10-20 MPH off a ramp, the contact noticed smoke in front of the vehicle. The contact looked at the instrument cluster, and upon looking up, the contact noticed fire coming from underneath the hood. The contact depressed the brake pedal and jumped out of the vehicle while the vehicle was still rolling. The contact had not pulled over. The contact did not sustain injuries from the fire. A nearby Police Officer notified the Fire Department and Emergency Services because the contact had jumped out of the moving vehicle without the cellphone. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Department. The front end and the hood of the vehicle were burned to the ground. It was unknown whether a Fire Department Report was filed. A Police Report was filed. The vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss by the Insurance Provider. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,959.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty or recall. The contact referenced an unknown recall with a similar failure; however, the VIN was not under recall. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive with the instrument cluster being inoperable. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the steering damper, inner tie rods, adjuster sleeve, outer tie rods, and the drag link assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer, Vallejo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (4325 Sonoma Blvd, Vallejo, CA 94589), where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering damper, inner tie rods, adjuster sleeve, outer tie rods, and the drag link assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,500.

My jeep steering wheel and entire vehicle shake violently at high speeds and after a bump.

The cluster instrument panel stopped working. It is a part that has been recalled. It was taken to the local jeep dealer and they confirmed the issue. Apparently, my jeep has not been added to the recall list yet. I also reported the issue directly to Chrysler back when it first happened.

Shortly after leaving my house I glanced at the digital readout for my speed and noticed that the instrument cluster was blank. I pulled over, stopped my Jeep, then restarted it to see if that would correct it, which it did not. I took it to a reputable auto/electrical garage who at first noticed a master fuse block blown and replaced the fuse block. That didn't correct the instrument cluster however but they did find a recall 30B for 2020 Jeep Wrangler. I called Stellantis (1 800 334 9200) today, Feb 16th . I was told by 3 different people in 3 different departments that even though there is a safety recall on 2020 Jeeps my VIN# isn't included. I asked why not and was told that it depended where the Jeep was made. They also told me that the repair will be at my expense. This doesn't seem fair to me because the recall is a safety issue to replace the instrument panel cluster free of charge. Just because my Jeep VIN# wasn't included doesn't mean it wasn't going to fail like the others that were included!! I have no readouts on my dashboard and am sure it won't even pass inspection now because of that, let alone serious safety concerns without warning lights. My speedometer/odometer screen went completely black. I have no idea how fast I’m going or how much gas I have. This is a know and very dangerous issue.

The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with instrument cluster failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

The IPC intermittently goes blank and I lose driver information like remaining fuel and speed limit and other safety information. The IPC also turns green and gets distortion.

The instrument cluster has failed. I am unable to see critical warnings for my Jeep. I am unable to determine the milage. Fortunately, the speedometer is separate and I am able to see the speed. I see there is a recall for 2020 Wranglers but, for some reason my VIN is not included. I'm being told by the dealer that the repair will cost $1600. Reading online, this issues seems to be a problem with Wranglers.
