2014 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints

2014 Jeep JK with 53,000 miles has a code C2200 abs module internal failure. The ABS module needs to be replaced. Part cannot be located as there is a national backorder. This is a known safety issue with no resolution by Stellantis.

The ABS control module on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler JK failed approximately four years ago. Since that time, I have been unable to obtain a replacement module through Jeep/Mopar, leaving the vehicle without properly functioning ABS and related electronic stability/traction-control safety systems. I was initially told the replacement part was on backorder and waited for an extended period (August 2022). In January 2026, I contacted my Jeep dealer checking on the status of my quote q96683 from 12/3/25. I was required to prepay $1,342.54 for the replacement module, which I did. It is now September 2026, approximately eight months after I prepaid, and the part still has not been supplied. I have not been given a reliable delivery date and there is no ETA. My concern goes beyond an ordinary parts shortage. This is a failure of a safety-critical braking component, and Jeep owners appear to be experiencing extremely long waits because the manufacturer cannot provide replacement ABS modules. My vehicle has needed this repair for approximately four years. A manufacturer should have a reasonable means of repairing a failed ABS/stability-control system in a vehicle of this age. Owners should not have to operate vehicles indefinitely without these safety functions—or stop using otherwise serviceable vehicles—because the manufacturer cannot supply the necessary component. I am asking NHTSA to investigate failures of the ABS control module in 2014 Jeep Wranglers, the availability of replacement modules, and whether the number of failures and inability to obtain replacement parts represent an unreasonable safety risk. I also ask NHTSA to determine whether a recall or other manufacturer action is warranted. I have documentation of the dealer order and my approximately $1,342.54 prepayment for the replacement module and can provide it if requested.

Have had this issue since I believe 2020 or 2021. Either way a long time. This issue concerns the ABS control module failure. The warning lights (Brake, ABS and traction control) are lit showing unavailable / issue. The computer is throwing code C2200. The parts to repair are not available. Online forums show this is a big issue within the Jeep Wrangler community. It has been reported that Internally, Jeep has acknowledged the issue by placing new inventory on an "engineering review" hold after admitting that a massive batch of newly manufactured replacement parts had fatal software flaws.

The ABS module has failed and is apparently impossible to locate. I have been working with a mechanic for 8 months now, and both the dealership and MOPAR cannot provide a date for either a replacement solution or parts availability. This seems to be a widespread issue for the Wranglers from this period. Stellantis should at least provide an alternative. Thanks,

Recalled part not in stock, back-ordered, unavailable and no estimated time of availability; I did not receive a loaner vehicle/I need a loaner vehicle and would like an a “vehicle off road priority tag” placed on my VIN. Case filed with Jeep, case no.s 97461935 and 97468071.

The plastic oil filter housing was leaking oil onto my exhaust I had to quit driving it because of fear of a FIRE, SO MY QUESTION IS : IF YOU HAVE OIL RUNNING DOWN AND DRIPPING OF YOUR EXHAUST AND YOU GUYS WONT RECALL IT BECAUSE YOU SAY ITS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE? YOU GUYS ARE NUTS, THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD BE MADE TO MAN UP AND FIX THIS PROBLEM INSTEAD OF LEAVING THE CONSUMER STUCK WITH A PROBLEM THAT THEY CREATED AND AN EMPTY WALLET AS WELL, SIMPLY NOT FAIR MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH THIS PROBLEM TO DEAL WITH WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM THE ENGINEERS THAT CAUSED IT, MAN UP AND MAKE EM TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IF NOT THEN WHY DOES THE NHTSA EVEN EXIST AT ALL

XXX lights on dash for abs, brakes, traction came on upon commuting home from [XXX] to [XXX]. I went to Honda Fredericksburg and diagnosis was C2200 failed and the part was on back order. Returned to SC and followed up with Jeep and local automotive services and part back order but able to drive without replacement and still awaiting product. XXX engine light on in addition to the continual abs, brake, traction lights as well as vehicle going into limp mode. Took it immediately to local automotive services shop and received ABS control Module failure is now sending error to other sensors to put Jeep in limp mode and inoperable. OEM Part still on back order and unable to obtain from Jeep. I contacted Mt. Pleasant Jeep dealership service department as well and unable to get the part. No part available and unknown timeframe which leaves me to garage the Jeep while waiting for a new part to become available. The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The traction control, cruise control, and ABS features were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and DTC: C2200 was retrieved. It was determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

• ABS Control Module. • Intermittent braking & locked calipers while driving in normal conditions. Vehicle would became unstable at highway speeds at times. Sometimes resolves. Ruined calipers & almost started a fire due to friction heat from failed system. • Yes • No • Yes & No. The warnings & uncontrolled braking happens almost simultaneously & at times Intermittently. Warning lights are now on continuous. Unable to drive vehicle due to the dangers of uncontrollable braking by the module.

The ABS module on my vehicle has gone bad. I have no antilock brakes, no traction control and my cruise control no longer works. Jeep no longer produces the module needed to repair my vehicle. Their customer service department refuses to help because I have no proof that I’ve attempted to purchase the part that isn’t available for purchase. There are thousands of people with this same issue. I’m also unable to sell or trade this vehicle because this is a major safety issue and it has diminished the value significantly. Please help me.
