The contact received notifications for NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V710000 (Electrical System), 25V741000 (Electrical System), 25V766000 (Engine), and 26V363000 (Steering). The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, and the vehicle restarted after a while; however, the failure recurred while driving approximately 20 to 30 minutes later. Additionally, the infotainment screen was intermittently inoperable. The contact associated the failures with the recalls. The manufacturer was contacted and scheduled an appointment for the recall repairs with the dealer for the first week of August; however, during the appointment, the dealer rescheduled for August 10th due to the duration of the repairs. During the second visit to the dealer, the appointment was rescheduled again for the same reason. The contact was informed that she would receive a call once there was availability for the recall repair; however, the contact had not received a call. Additionally, there was an abnormal burning odor coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,167.

The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving uphill in Electric Mode at 35-37 MPH. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road on both occasions. The vehicle was restarted and pulled into a parking lot. The message "Electric Mode Unavailable" was displayed, and the vehicle entered Gasoline or E- Safe Mode. The vehicle was towed to the dealer on both occasions; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the failure had occurred a third time, while driving in Hybrid Mode. The contact was able to drive to the nearby residence. The contact stated that during each failure, the battery charge exceeded 85 percent. The contact stated that the failure started after several software updates were performed under past recalls.
