2024 KIA EV6- Daytona Beach , FL
I am reporting suspected odometer fraud and misreported mileage/VIN/title data by Greenway Kia North (Longwood, FL) involving my 2024 Kia EV6 GT-Line (VIN: [XXX] ) and my 2017 Audi Q5 trade-in. These actions appear to violate the Federal Odometer Act (49 U.S.C. § 32705 and 327 and Florida title/odometer laws. After attempts to resolve the matter, I issued a rescission and statutory-demand notice on Nov. 8; the dealer provided no adequate response. Title/Registration Misrepresentation: My Audi Q5 (dark blue) was submitted to FLHSMV as “Monsoon Gray.” The EV6 (Aurora Black Pearl) was submitted as “Blue.” I verbally corrected both errors at signing; the dealer ignored them, and the false data was transmitted to the State and later reported through Carfax. This indicates intentional or reckless submission, not clerical error. Odometer Fraud: The dealer certified 131 miles on the Odometer Disclosure Statement, though I informed them the mileage was higher. Post-purchase evidence shows the certification was false. Documented travel from Dec 29–Jan 4 totals ~546 miles. Charging records (49.2 kWh on Dec 30; 63 kWh on Jan 2) indicate regular use inconsistent with a 131-mile vehicle. On Jan 4, the dashboard displayed 965 miles; Carfax recorded 1,206 miles. If delivery mileage were truly 131, the vehicle would show ~677 miles minimum—yet readings were 965–1,206 miles, proving the EV6 had approximately 413–660 miles at delivery. Willfulness Indicators: I verbally corrected mileage and color errors; the dealer ignored the corrections, submitted false disclosures, and provided only a thumb drive instead of paper contracts, preventing immediate verification. Carfax confirms incorrect DMV data originated from dealer submissions. Requested NHTSA Action: Investigate for violations of the Federal Odometer Act, audit the dealer’s odometer/title practices for a possible pattern, pursue civil/criminal enforcement if warranted, and refer to DOJ as appropriate. 2016 KIA SORENTO- Cape Coral, FL
The top padded dash of the instrument panel and the lower crash panel of the instrument panel, which the mechanic identified, have been developing cracks since the car was three years old. I made 3 calls to corporate customer service after the dealership said that the warranty had expired. I was told by the manufacturer that as long as I did not get hurt or cause an accident that they could not do anything about replacing the parts. Since then, numerous additional cracks have developed in the padding, showing deep cracks through the padding to the surface below. The airbags are in the area of the damage. I tried many times to submit photos and a statement from the mechanic who was assigned to my car at the dealership, but each time it failed to load the 8 pictures on this form. If you would like, I could mail them to you if you give me the mailing information. I feel that in time, the pieces will become loose while driving the car and cause a distraction, or the airbags could fail. Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2022 KIA SPORTAGE- Olympia, WA
Engine began to knock on [XXX] on my way home from work. Drove to work and back the next day, but heard a loud CLUNK when I started it to head home. Stopped at auto parts store and checked oil. Completely dry dip stick (after wiping it clean). Added 2 qts of synthetic since I had an appt the next morning ([XXX]) at 7:30am at dealership where I purchased it. Knocking stopped but only drove about 12 miles total from that time until appt in the morning. Kia now tells me that engine failed and based on their records, insufficient maintenance. Kia dealer changed hands recently so not sure of the recordkeeping on their end. I've only ever had my vehicle serviced there. Also, no engine light nor oil light ever came on to warn me of low oil pressure. Service tech says he will email me video of their inspection. Not yet received. Currently requesting warranty coverage. Expect it to be denied, based on what service techs have said. I cannot believe Kia didn't get their act together after the Theta II engine debaucle. My car is a 2022 Kia Sportage with ~50-51k miles. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2023 KIA SPORTAGE- Kewanee, IL
Three occurrences where electrical system glitched. 1st- driving vehicle and dashboard warnings all lit up. Pulled over and ran system check. System fault indicated do not drive and all vehicle alerts where red. Shut car off allowed time for system reset and it started right back up with no system warnings, no dash warnings on. Drove perfectly fine. Two weeks later went to start car and car began to flash dash lights, head lights and overhead lights while car made clicking sound. Would not start. Required a jump. Took into shop had battery and alternator tested and both came back 100%. Returned to dealer and they overlooked the vehicle and returned it stating nothing was found and all systems where fine. A month later driving and entire dash went black and head lights shut off and would not turn back on. No engine trouble but electrical glitch again. Pulled over shut car off allowed it time to reset. Started back up, dash and headlights back on and no warnings on vehicle. Each time an incident occurred The car did not present with engine trouble. It physically would drive just fine. However the electrical issues would require engine to be shut off and time for system to reset for it to function properly. Most recent incident date listed below.

2025 KIA EV6- North Haledon, NJ
Driving down local (residential) roads, the ICCU died; towed to dealership 12/3/2025. All 12 volt electrical was inoperable. So no hazard lights, no shift to neutral, no locking the doors. It was towed to the dealer. ICCU is now being ordered. The Master Warning light and 12V battery warning light illuminated. I was fortunate to be able to park in a parking lot just before all electrical died. An Internet search shows that this is a known issue; and, even after the replacement the situation can happen again. Took delivery 6/28/25. So, not even 6 months old.

2020 KIA TELLURIDE- Bryan, TX
Several oil housing changes. I’m not the first owner, the oil housing has been changed once already and I’m going to have to do it a second time, the car is only 5 years old. I’ve only owned the vehicle 2 years. The dealership did no diligence to check it, I went to the dealership for years and due to negligence with my oil changes and recalls I stopped going, now I’m having to pay out of pocket for issues they’ve caused. I thought I messed up my car and had a part dragging at the bottom, when I took it in to the dealership they said it was previously not bolted down properly. I had a recall, I was told 3 times my lights were connected and I was “good to go” each time I got in and the car said my lights were not connected. After this I never came back! Not sure if it’s the dealership issue or on the car for my oil housing leak.

2016 KIA SEDONA- Lacrescent, MN
The Sedona just stopped in traffic with out warning with my kids in the van. No type or warning lights came on. I had recently got an oil change and tune up. I almost caused an accident. It was extremely scary. I am thankful no one was hurt. I had to pay for a tow and come to find out the engine is locked . The machine started it had very low oil. Which makes no sense since it hadn’t even been 7 days since my oil was changed .

2016 KIA SORENTO- Suquamish, WA
The car was running as normal and then randomly it started kind of rough and seemed like maybe just cold. But I had my mechanic take a look, and he said that when he started it, which was the next day that it made a loud knocking sound upon start. On the 30th I had it towed out to West Hills Kia in Bremerton. And they reported back that the engine needed full repair. I only owned this car one year and before me it was reportedly well maintained. I maintained it well also! Kia is denying all recall, but it’s a 2016 Kia sorento. It’s within the one or two years that the recall doesn’t cover??? The brake lights also work and always one of them is not working. It is not exclusively one or the other but the bulbs keep burning out. I need to know what to do to get this engine fixed, and it should fall under the bad engines that Kia’s have!
