2022 KIA EV6- Oneonta, NY
In November 2024, my 2022 Kia EV6 became suddenly non-drivable due to electrical failure consistent with a repeat ICCU/12-volt system malfunction. The vehicle would not start or maintain normal electrical power and became stuck in accessory mode, creating a loss of propulsion and complete loss of transportation. This vehicle previously experienced an ICCU failure earlier in 2024 that required dealership repair and battery replacement. After that repair, the vehicle again developed electrical failure symptoms, including loss of 12-volt power and inability to operate. Due to the unsafe non-drivable condition, Kia Roadside Assistance directed and arranged a tow to a Kia dealership. Upon arrival at the dealership, new undercarriage and wheel-well damage was documented within approximately 90 minutes of drop-off. This damage was not present prior to towing and is located where tow equipment attaches. The vehicle remains in the possession of the dealership and is available for full inspection. The electrical failure created a safety risk because the vehicle became immobilized without warning and could not be safely operated. There was no advance notice or driver-caused event. The failure resulted in complete loss of vehicle function. The vehicle has been inspected by a Kia dealership, and I have been working through Kia corporate and roadside providers since the incident. The vehicle remains out of service with unresolved electrical issues and unresolved damage resulting from the manufacturer-directed tow.

Days later, while the vehicle was idling, smoke was suddenly present coming from under the hood. The contact opened the hood of the vehicle and discovered flames and smoke coming from the fuse box located in the front of the engine bay. The contact, who was a local fire investigator, retrieved a fire extinguisher and extinguished the flames. The fire department was called to the scene, and a fire report was filed. The vehicle was later towed to the home, and the manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the incident. The manufacturer sent an investigator to the home to examine the vehicle. The investigator determined that the fire had originated at the front of the engine compartment, but did not determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported. The contact was concerned that the fire was related to the recall service previously performed. The failure mileage was 212,000.

2020 KIA TELLURIDE- Crown Point, IN
I just recently purchased this vehicle used. I live in northwest Indiana and as soon as the temperature went below 40 degrees I developed an oil leak. In searching this topic this is a known issue with these vehicles but a widespread recall has not been issued. All owners of these vehicles as well as the Hyundai Pallisades have this issue due to having a plastic oil filter housing. This has been diagnosed by a non dealer certified repair facility already. The part is only around $60.00 but the labor to install is very high. Upon contacting Kia they informed me that I would have to bring it in to the dealership for diagnosis at a cost of $180.00 and then go from there for them to determine if they will "goodwill" the repair. I feel that in a situation like this either a recall should be issued, a class action should be created to reimburse all owners that have had these repairs done. It will not affect owners in states with warm climates. Can someone please research this and discover the amount of complaints online associated with this and get back with me? am already $5000.00 into repairs for known issues on these vehicle including rear suspension that is also a known issue but no recalls have been issued.

2025 KIA SORENTO- Dublin, OH
There is an electronic glitch with the gear shifting system where it will randomly / sporadically not allow shifting from reverse to drive and provides the error message "gear already selected." This has happened numerous times and resolves itself after 1-2 minutes. However, the vehicle remains in the wrong gear (reverse) while waiting, creating a significant safety issue. I purchased this vehicle brand new from Kia Coughlin in Dublin, OH. After two service visits where they were unable to recreate the problem (it happens randomly / sporatically), they have not provided resolution or a way ahead. I have multiple videos of this issue taken while it was happening.
