2023 KIA TELLURIDE- Loudon, TN
Transmission blew resulting in not being able to switch gears. Was out of my car for 34 days. Got it inspected multiple times. Finally got a new Transmission but now gears "slip" when changing and seems like it'll break down again. Also, can not use the circulation button as it brings a strong vinegar smell into the car and can no longer use the heating/cooling seats as it does not work.

2019 KIA SORENTO- York, PA
This has to do with your investigation into the oil pan caps cracking. I had my vehicle serviced 6 months ago and KIA of York PA required me to pay for replacement. Over $150 to correct this issue that seems to be a defect.

2017 KIA FORTE- El Monte, CA
I am writing to you today regarding a persistent issue I'm experiencing with my 2017 Kia Forte. On several occasions, while driving at various speeds and coming to a stop, the vehicle has stalled. Each time, I was able to restart the vehicle after the stall. I took the car to an independent mechanic, who discovered debris from the skirt in the oil and informed me that the engine would need to be replaced. Additionally 2 days upon purchase the coils were replaced and about 5 times after that I am concerned that this issue may be related to an unknown recalls for both the coil and the engine, as I've seen similar reports. The current mileage on the vehicle is 134,071. I have already notified the manufacturer about this failure but they stated they couldn't do anything even through this started 2 days after my purchase I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter.

2025 KIA K5- Scottsdale, AZ
My 2025 Kia K5 with less than 10k miles on it is experiencing intermittent windshield wiper failure. Starting over two months ago, my windshield wipers would fail in the sense they would not turn on while it is raining and/or would not activate when I use the sprayer function leaving residue and obstructing my view in both scenarios. This is a critical safety issue that has been documented on video, however the dealership/Kia are not being forthcoming in fixing the issue. My car has been in the shop over a week at Mark Kia and there is still not a remedy for the issue. They claim to not being able to reproduce the issue and will not do further diagnostics until it happens. The car is leased and I do not feel safe driving it knowing there is a chance my wipers can fail intermittently (as they have while it has been raining) so I'm filing this complaint.

2021 KIA SELTOS- Selma, TX
On [XXX], while driving my 2021 Kia Seltos (VIN: [XXX] ) on the highway at approximately 70 MPH, the engine suddenly revved slightly higher and then completely shut off without warning. This caused a loss of power, making the vehicle difficult to control and nearly resulting in a significant accident with surrounding traffic. Fortunately, I was able to coast and pull over to the shoulder safely, avoiding a collision. No warning lights illuminated prior to the incident, and there were no other noticeable symptoms beforehand. The vehicle was towed to Classic Kia in Texarkana, TX, where technicians diagnosed engine seizure with no oil present—a clear symptom of excessive oil consumption and cylinder wall damage linked to faulty piston oil rings. During a call with Kia on September 16, 2025, they confirmed two prior recall repairs in 2021 and 2022: one for Recall SC209 (NHTSA 21V-259, addressing piston oil rings in 2021 Seltos with 2.0L Nu MPI engines) and another related repair not directly tied to SC209 but addressing similar engine issues. These repairs failed to prevent the defect, as evidenced by the seizure. This matches the piston ring defect in SC209 and the expanded Recall SC336 (NHTSA 25V-099, covering 2021–2023 Seltos), which can cause seizure and fire risk. NHTSA’s 2025 audit of Kia’s engine recalls notes ineffective fixes, with owner complaints of post-repair failures. This incident posed a severe safety hazard, as engine seizure at highway speeds risks crashes, injuries, or fatalities. I urge NHTSA to investigate this as part of the audit and compel Kia to provide a permanent remedy, such as engine replacement or vehicle buyback under warranty/lemon laws. 2017 KIA FORTE- Harrisburg, PA
The contact owns a 2017 Kia Forte. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where a scanner determined that there was a failure with the crankshaft. The contact replaced the spark plugs and crankshaft; however, the failure returned. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic ,where a defect with the timing belt was found, and the mechanic discovered metal shavings inside the oil pump. The contact stated that an oil change was performed on the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The contact was then informed by the mechanic that the failure was possibly linked to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V260000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

2025 KIA K5- Kissimmee, FL
Tire size: P 235/45 R 18 While I was driving home from work my steering started feeling a little shaky. My commute is 6.5 miles. I thought it felt a little weird about 2-3 miles in and I called my boyfriend to meet me when I got home because I could tell something was off, but my tire pressure was fine. When I was about .5 miles from our home, the shaking became audible and violent so I got scared and pulled off. I called again for help while I was parked and walked around to see if there was anything weird and I could not see anything. About 3-4 minutes later while I was sitting in my car waiting, my tire exploded. It shook my car and was so loud that people ran out of the building I was in front of to see what happened. At this point, I had a tire indicator come up saying something was wrong. When I walked around my car again, I saw in one of my tires the cords came out and split in middle of the tread causing separation, and the tire still had air in it. It also scratched my paint around the tire. When I had help come, we put my spare on and got it home, and we took it to a tire dealer the following morning. They all were shocked at how new the tire was and what happened. Everyone is so glad I was parked when it happened and upon research, this is a common occurrence with this brand and type of tire anywhere with 1000-10000 miles on it. My vehicle is less than 6800 mi and the specialists even said the tire had basically no wear and was faulty. On top of that, Pirelli warranty essentially refused to process anything and the dealer that THEY told us they would work with, Pirelli kept hanging up on them. They would not give me a name, let me speak to a supervisor, or give me a call back number should the call “disconnect” again. The dealer was able to comp the tire through their management, but even then, the issue of the faulty tire remains, and based on what I felt, I don’t want someone to get hurt having this happen to them while their car is in motion.
