2018 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR- Omak, WA
REAR CAMERA MALFUNCTION!! The rear backup camera has malfunctioned due to water entering the device. This is the same issue seemingly as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport rear cameras, but the Velar has yet to be included in the recall. The Velar has the same 360 degree surround system. Thanks, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

1. The components that failed were part of the coolant system, specifically the coolant pipes. JLR used plastic coolant pipes which over time deteriorate and lead to massive coolant leaks, and in my car it got so bad that even with the engine off the coolant would just pour out in a couple seconds. 2. This leads to severe overheating issues. While I was regularly driving home, the vehicle started smoking which prompted me to pull over. If I had kept going, there is a chance a catastrophic failure could have happened and put my life and others at risk since I was traveling on a high speed road. 3. This problem has been reproduced and reported by many owners, since the plastic coolant pipes have been used in many vehicles. The dealership also said they were aware of this issue and explained how the part deteriorates over time. 4. My car has not been inspected by the manufacturer, but has been by the dealership. 5. I did notice that the coolant was dropping a few weeks prior (it was significantly under MIN but no warning lights). I took it to the dealership and they conducted a pressure test but found no leaks. Then a few weeks later, as I was driving regularly, the vehicle started smoking and the low coolant light appeared. This was the first time the light appeared, and the coolant level was extremely low. I have videos/pictures of most things including the coolant level that prompted me to initially take the vehicle to the dealership, inspection report from the dealer, also the smoke and coolant level of the car during the breakdown, and the repair documents the dealer provided with the broken parts.

2018 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE- Sanibel, FL
The front windshield began leaking into the cabin interior. A windshield replacement has been performed. I paid for the replacement in full. Receipts provided to Land Rover. The auto glass specialist that performed the work performed the replacement of many windshields ( same make, model, year) for the local LR dealer. Safety concerns existed due to the fogging of the windshield interior and the possible water damage to electrical control components. The problem has been documented by a Land Rover authorized auto glass specialist. The windshield replacement was performed by an authorized Land Rover vendor which provided a statement of cause of failure being contaminated glass and primer failure. The cause / nature of the failure is the same as many other vehicles of the same make , mode and year. Also a Class action lawsuit exists for the same problem. The windshield leak presented the symptoms of water intrusion to the interior, resulting in a fogging of the windshield and restricted frontal visibility. Upon contacting the local Land Rover dealer for a resolution to the safety problem, they denied providing help due to the VIN number being out of the posted range and suggested that I contact my insurance company. I felt compelled for safety reasons to seek replacement of the leaking windshield as soon as possible.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a prolonged and troubling service experience at Jaguar Land Rover Buckhead, related to my 2018 Range Rover Sport (approximately 49,000 miles), and to express dissatisfaction with the handling of a prior related incident. My vehicle has been the dealership approx. 2 weeks with no loaner and me missing days from work and not able to transport my children to school. For past context, In 2023, I experienced a faulty ground stud issue that left me stranded on the highway during my morning commute. I later learned this exact issue had been subject to a recall on the Discovery model — but not on mine — despite identical symptoms. As a result, I was issued a $675 Owner Loyalty Certificate (OLC) by Molly B. of Land Rover USA, which I appreciated, but which I believe did not fully compensate for the risk and inconvenience caused. Recently, I returned to the another dealer, Jaguar Land Rover Buckhead, in May 2025 for a new issue. I was told there was a broken exhaust bolt that delayed repairs. I specifically asked the service advisor if I was responsible for the bolt breaking during service and was told I was not, though it was framed as a “common issue” across many vehicles. I respectfully disagreed, noting I’ve owned multiple vehicles with higher mileage and never encountered such a failure. I also suggested that if this is so common, it may reflect a design flaw that Land Rover should address. Additionally, I was misled by the service advisor, Cole Eidson, who sent me a message on Tuesday, May 28th, stating the bolt was already removed and the exhaust installation was underway. I later discovered this was not true, and that the bolt had not yet been extracted at the time of that message. This misrepresentation caused unnecessary confusion, delay, and loss of trust. This pattern — first with the unresolved ground stud failure, then with misinformation about repairs and unexplained delays — leaves me deeply disappointed with

2018 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE- Oriskany Falls, NY
When traveling on [XXX] in New York, at 78 mph, my 2018 Range Rover Evoque experienced an electronic power steering rack failure I had just picked up my neighbors from the airport and were on the way home. When traveling on a smooth, straight highway, the audible notification alerted and a message on the dash appeared stating "power steering reduced". When just trying to change lanes on the straight highway I would feel the strong resistance. When exiting the Interstate my neighbor sitting in the passenger seat even helped me with turning the wheel on the exit ramp. We manage to make it back to my driveway. My wife normally drives this vehicle and if it was her driving at the time of the failure in our more rural area, there is no doubt she would not have been able to steer and would have crashed with a high possibility of personal injury. There is no way she would have had the strength to control the vehicle. The possibility of injury or death is high. If that had happened legal action would have been taken. I had the vehicle towed 90 miles to the JLR dealership and they eventually completed the fix by replacing the electronic power steering rack at a cost of over $6k. There was much discussion with the dealership about the failure and the kept saying nothing could be done. I chose to pay for the repair only because I wasn't going to continue making monthly payments for a vehicle i couldn't use, or even move. There is a recall in regards to steering rack bolts. However my vehicles VIN is just shy of meeting the require range. Cost of tow, fix, and travel to pick it up after the repair is close to $7k. The large amount of added debt is a huge inconvenience for a repair that should be covered by a major part that was defective. I have attached the dealer repair estimate, the dealer repairs made, and the text communication with the dealership in regards to the steering rack failure. 2018 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT- Lake Orion, MI
Driving on interstate the coolant level low light went off and started blowing hot steam from underneath the hood the hood. Running 70 on the interstate and now couldn’t see due to the steam. I luckily maneuvered out of traffic and limped to exit. Very easily could have been a 10 car pile up. Got the car to a mechanic and it had a plastic quick connect on a hose break. There are no metal clamps as backup and the mechanic said that these run on very high water pressure and those plastic quick connect clamps are huge problems because they can’t hold the pressure with the slightest defect and there are no metal clamps to securely hold. I had the hose replaced. Speak to any Land Rover mechanic and you will immediately learn how many problems people are having with this issue. Seeing how many claims are made around the cooling system, plastic quick connectors, main hose under the supercharger causing so many issues with no warning, I pray someone looks in to this issue and makes Land Rover fix these issues. It is truly a miracle this did not cause a major accident.

I recently purchased this car 2-3 weeks ago. The control center screens go out with no rhyme or reason as to why. When this happens, controls of the vehicle are no longer accessible and the safety cameras/safety sensors no longer visible nor alert to pedestrians and other points of collision. This is extremely dangerous when it happens while using those safety features. There is never a warning and it can happen anytime. I can not make it happen, it just happens and when it does, it puts many in danger. The car can be inspected and has not been by anyone. The car has approx 56,000 miles. This has happened two times since purchasing it. I have been told this was an issue on this model and there was a recall at some point for some VINs, but from what I can tell, not mine, but mine is having the same issues.

My brother in law was driving my 2018 Range Rover (with only 47,000 miles) on the busy highway. Without any warning, the car lost power. He was able to swerve into breakdown lane (thankful he was in right lane). The car was smoking so badly he thought the car was going to explode into fire so he and his wife evacuated the car and sat a safe distance away. Car was towed to the Range Rover Dealer where it was diagnosed. We were told the coolant manifold pipes under the supercharger ruptured causing what they believed was a catastrophic engine failure. We just joined a class action lawsuit over this issue alleging Range Rover has known about this dangerous situation in many of their cars for many years but they continue to market and sell the cars as "safe vehicles" without recalling the defective parts.
