The rear gas tank has started to rust and creates a safety issue since the metal shield is a different material it creates a galvazing effect on the metals due to them being seperate materials

Dealership reported at last service that the metal guard plate protecting the fuel tank is rusting and poses a safety hazard. This is a known defect with this model/vehicle.

SUV Rear hatch has a mind of its own and will come down unexpectedly on you when your reaching into the back. This is the kick your foot under the bumper to get it to open feature. I have never been able to get this feature to work when I want it to. However I'm pretty good at getting the hatch to open when I am just washing the car/bumper. From my research this seems to be a very common gripe among various makes and models. Need feature to go or at least a way to disable it.

Both the Cooling elbow and manifold connecting to the engine block were disintegrating causing severe leaks on both the elbow and manifold connections. This is a well known recall for Range Rover Velars that was never addressed on my vehicle. Multiple dealers refused to address the issue forcing me to perform the repairs myself. Constant loss of coolant, overheating. Coored. Crossover pipes replaces. Pressure tests to coolant system come back as normal, but vehicle requires frequent topping up and dashboard warning lights. Car overheated on highway requiring immediate stopping and tow. After removing starter, pooling found while under pressure on shield under turbo manifold. Exact location of leak is tbd. These repairs should be covered by a recall for how frequently they occur. The MHEV turbo is generating too much heat for all of the plastic parts.

The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing chain and the VVT solenoid needed to be replaced. The contact researched and was made aware of an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,200.

The LED headlight on my 2019 Land Rover Velar is no longer working properly. The built-in Daytime Running Light (DRL) has stopped working completely. This is an important safety feature that helps other drivers see my vehicle during the day. I've already been pulled over three times because of this issue, so it's something that really needs to be fixed. The dealership in Maryland told me the only fix is to replace the entire headlight unit, which costs over $6,000. That’s an extremely high cost for a safety-related problem. I’ve seen many similar complaints online from other owners of 2018–2022 Velar and other Range Rover models, all experiencing the same DRL failure. This seems to be a common issue. When the DRL doesn't work, it makes the vehicle less visible and more dangerous to drive during the day. Given the high cost, the safety risk, and how often this seems to happen, I believe this issue needs to be investigated and possibly recalled. I'm very disappointed that such a costly repair is required for a basic safety feature.

While driving my 2019 Range Rover Evoque on the highway on [XXX], the headliner on my vehicle just suddenly collapsed, hitting me in the head while driving and blocking my view of my rear windshield and rear view mirror and startling me almost causing a serious accident at 70 miles per hour. Something like this should not happen on a car that is just a few years old and has less than 30k miles on it. The adhesive in the headliner just simply failed and the whole thing collapsed. I called my Land Rover Dealership and they just stated that the warranty expired 2 years ago and nothing they can do. So then I called Land Rover corporate at 1800-637-6837 option 9 and they told me they can't help either unless I take it to dealership and spend $300 to get a diagnostic report from them. Then they may or may not assist me. I brought to their attention that the model year 2020 Range Rover Evoque has 2 current recalls for the same issue, Failing headliner and headliner built missing materials and since the body on the 2019 and 2020 are exactly the same the recall should cover this as well, but they refuse and say it goes by year and VIN and 2019 is not covered under the recall. The recalls in mention are: Recall N412 (19V-840) and Recall N454. These need to be expanded to cover 2019 or a new recall needs to be added, because the issue of a suddenly collapsing headliner while driving is a serious and potentially fatal matter.
