2022 LEXUS ES- Little Rock, AR
I purchased my car approximately four months ago, and the lights on my dash began blinking there was a warning to clean parking sensors. I went to the dealership to see what this meant. They stated I have a missing sensor and immediately stated it was not covered under warranty. I haven’t had any wrecks or bumps on my car. I asked if it could be a default with the glue that holds the sensor in place. The manager said that’s not possible someone had to push the sensor out. He continued to state they have had several cars come in with the same issue and people are pushing them out. This has caused warning lights to come on in the vehicle due to this default the dealership stated it was a wear and tear and would not be covered under warranty. It also causes the car to beep as if you are going to hit something every time you start he car. Even if you turn off the system, it still beeps and blinks as if your car will shut down. the parking sensors are defective in the sense that they are not secure and being installed which is causing repair approximately $900-$1000. I stated it has been extremely hotter than normal with a consistent temperature oaf 102+ in Arkansas. He was not open to the fact and basically said pay or leave. He refused to give me an estimate on the cost unless I paid the $100 diagnostic fee. I feel that if several people have been in for the same reason it’s should definitely mean there is something defective with the front bumper sensors. I have not even drove 10000 miles and now there is a repair not to my fault that I am having to pay as if the car is t expensive enough. I believe there needs to be some sort of recall on. This section with how they are installed. He said they glue them on the back side and glue does melt..please look into this.

I was traveling east bound on 161/16/37 near Raccoon Valley Golf Course in Granville OH. I was near MM 104. It was approximately 8:13PM and the road conditions were clear. No other vehicles were in front of or behind me. I heard a screech, the wheel jerked out of my hand to the left, and the wipers came on. I tried to regain control and keep the vehicle on the road. The wheel kept tugging to the left and I was fighting to pull it right. At the same time, I was also pressing on the brake, but it went straight to the floor. I kept pumping on the breaks because I didn’t know if the ABS was working. Then I hit the guard rail on the right side of my car and after I hit the guard rail, that time when I pressed the breaks, I was finally able to stop. I am unsure what system malfunctioned. There were no lights or warning messages. I did have the vehicle at Lexus for routine maintenance a couple weeks prior. The sheriff came to the scene and filled report 23-31830. I also called Lexus the next day and filled a request for an inspection to be completed. My insurance company is aware, but has advised I don’t file the claim until after the investigation is complete.

My front driver tire flew off as I was exiting the expressway 8-7-22. The tire and wheel continued on to go through another vehicle’s windshield, Crash # 23080049 was filed by NV Highway Patrol Trooper E Thallon # 347.The car had 6300 miles at the time of the accident. It had its first customary 5K maintenance which included a tire rotation on 5-26-23. If I wouldn’t have been exiting the freeway, this would have happened in 5 lanes of traffic whIch could have killed me or other drivers as well. Since I drove 1391 miles since service, the dealer is claiming someone else did something to the tire. I never lost tire pressure and have had no reason to have anyone touch my tires. I purchased the car new 10-15-22 and also pre-paid for 3 years of customary maintenance as well as tire and wheel protection. The car is garage kept and just used for traveling short distances to my work/local places (within 25 miles of my home). After the dealer claimed no liability, I reached out to Lexus Corp who inspected and told me to have it fixed. I and my insurance are currently responsible for repairs, rental etc. If the dealer’s service center did not over-tighten a lug nut or not tighten one enough, there is a serious problem with this vehicle that needs to be investigated ASAP.

I WAS SITTING AT A COMPLETE STOP FOR MORE THAN 45 MINUTES BEHIND A FATALITY ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY THEY HAD CLOSED WHILE OCCASIONALLY REMOVING FOOT FROM BRAKE TO INCH FORWARD A FEW FEET A BEST AND THEN STOP AGAIN NEVER TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR WHEN I REALIZED AT ONE POINT TRAFFIC BESIDE ME WAS MOVING, I THOUGHT, IT WAS MY RX 350 WHILE PRESSING BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO SEE IF IT WAS SLOW ME DOWN AS AN UPCOMING CRASH WAS UNAVOIDABLE. NO BRAKE ASSIST, PRECOLLISON WARNING OR ASSIST, NO EMERGENCY BRAKING, NO RESISTANCE FROM BRAKE PEDAL AND ***NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AT ALL PRIOR TO IMPACT WITH THE BACK OF A STOPPED SEMI TRUCK** and during the entire incident the speedometer remained at zero or moved a tiny bit off of zero as if it was pulsing somehow and the accelerator was never touched while car felt like I was being pushed from behind, randomly accelerating on its own before impact.

I want to bring 2 issues to your attention: First, with all the technology in vehicles today, I can't figure out why there isn't an audible warning if the lights aren't on at night and why they don't come on automatically when windshield wipers are turned on. I often find that I am driving without lights because either my wife or some valet turned them off from 'auto' without my knowledge. I have to imagine accidents have occurred because of this and it seems like such a simple problem to fix. Supposedly there is a law (though I've never seen it) in Florida that you have to have your lights on when it's raining. So why not just have them cone on with the wipers? Second, I am from Detroit so am familiar with cars. Or at least used to be. I recall some time ago that there were regulations to minimize costs and damage during low speed impacts. I am attaching a document I found on line as an example. We had some issues with the sensors on the rear of this Lexus. The dealer said it was going to cost around $3000 to repair and it wasn't covered by warranty, because it must have been caused by someone hitting the car. I don't know if anyone hit the car. We were not in any accidents. And if we were it had to be so minor it wasn't noticed. So how can it cost $3000 to repair such a problem and of course if they aren't working, there is a safety issue when backing up.

I am writing to bring to your attention the grave matter of odometer rollback fraud, consumer law violations, and a series of fraudulent activities that have occurred in connection with my recent vehicle purchase. I am seeking a settlement of $60,000 to rectify the significant damages and hardships I have endured as a result of these unethical practices. The issues at hand stem from the fraudulent rollback of the odometer by 100,000 miles on the vehicle I purchased from a moving rides dealership. This deception has not only violated various consumer protection laws and Department of Motor Vehicle regulations but has also endangered my safety and well-being by knowingly selling me a vehicle that was not roadworthy and unsafe to operate . In light of these unfortunate events, I would like to detail a few aspects for which I am seeking compensation: 1. Reimbursement for Travel Expenses: I incurred considerable expenses, both monetary and time-wise, traveling a total of 1,025 miles for trips related to the purchase and subsequent issues with the vehicle. The 22 hours spent on the road and the three days of missed work have imposed severe financial strain. 2. Insurance Payment Refund: I was coerced into obtaining insurance coverage before taking possession of the vehicle, due to misrepresentation of the condition of the vehicle I didn’t get to take the car home till three weeks after the purchase. 3. Down Payment Refund: The undue distress caused by this fraudulent transaction warrants the return of my initial down payment. 4. Legal Fees and Filing Costs: Pursuing justice has come at a significant cost, both in terms of legal representation and filing fees, which I believe should be compensated. 5. Vehicle Rental Reimbursement: The unsafe condition of the purchased vehicle, compounded by expired tags, made it essential for me to secure alternative transportation for both work and personal use. 6. Restitution for Pain and Suffering
