While driving regularly on the highway my sunroof spontaneously shattered. There were no warning signs and no visible debris on the road that could have hit it. This is the SECOND instance of this happening with this vehicle (2018 Lexus NX 300) within three years. The sudden loud sound is dangerous as it can cause someone to jerk the steering wheel. Also, if the sunroof is open, glass could rain down on the occupants of the vehicle. My sunroof was closed at the time, but my vehicle littered glass over the roadway while trying to exit safely. The dealership refuses to take responsibility for the manufacturing defects in their sunroofs.

I am writing to report a serious safety issue involving my Lexus RX350. While driving on the freeway with my [XXX] child, I suddenly heard a loud explosion-like sound coming from the roof. To my shock, I discovered that the sunroof glass had shattered into pieces. Fortunately, the sunroof cover was closed, preventing glass from entering the cabin and potentially causing severe injuries. When I contacted my Lexus dealership, they acknowledged that another GX had come in just the previous week with the exact same issue. They insisted that a rock was the cause. However, I find it extremely concerning that a small rock could cause such catastrophic failure, indicating that the glass material may be dangerously flimsy. This incident has left me deeply shaken, as it could have resulted in severe injury or even loss of control of the vehicle. I am afraid for my safety and that of my family, knowing that this could happen again. I urge NHTSA to investigate whether this is a defect in the sunroof design or material quality, as it poses a significant risk to drivers and passengers. Please let me know if additional details or documentation are required. I appreciate your time and attention to this critical safety matter. The passenger airbag light is constantly on. When no one is sitting on the chair, the light states that the air bag is off and when someone is sitting in the chair, the airbag light states that it is on. I just purchased this used car a month ago from a Toyota dealership. Two weeks in with no accident whatsoever, the problem had occurred. I noticed the airbag light turned on when I first purchased the car but it would quickly turned off completely after a while.

Lexus had a recall on certain 2010 HS250H cars for an issue where they have nitrogen gas leaking into brake fluid causing brake failure. My Vin number was not one of recalls however in August of 2023 they sent me a notice stating that if my car has this problem they will repair at no cost to me. Very expensive repair. That notice says they will repair until March 31 2024. It says if certain warning lights are not on , don't take it to get repaired. My car now has this problem and they are saying they won't repair it unless I pay for repair. I have 5 warning lights on and cruise control now won't work as well as they note that brakes could fell causing a collision. I can't afford the repair and I don't agree that they won't repair it. Under the recall there is no time limit and they would repair it today. To me they are verifying that my car was one that should be on recall since it's the same exact issue and they sent me letter verifying that my car was one with problem. Is there anything I can do?

We bought the brand new Lexus (RX450H) back in 2022 (Vin [XXX] ). As of today, February 03, 2025, the mileage on the car is 20,125 miles. The OEM tire size was 235/55R20, all the 4 tires were Bridgestone Ecopia H/L [XXX] . Recently, one of the wheels exploded when it passed a pothole, the tire was damaged and the rim was bent/cracked as well. I brought one tire, same brand and size, and installed it to the new Lexus rim. The installer told me that these tires were "Recalled" and suggested to replace all 4 tires ASAP. I Google and found these recalled tires as well. As of now, couple other tires keep leaking air as well. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
