    - Frankfort, IL

Top handlebar on passengers side fell off completely causing my mother a great fall. Nearly died the way her head bounced off on gravel with handle in hand. The SUV was only a month old. I have other people on a fb page stating their handle came off completely too but no accident like my moms. This is definitely a safety concern that a Black Label Vehicle should have passed inspection before leaving manufacturing plant. Was reported to dealer and they directed us with Lincoln directly. Case was open and has been in General Council over 30 days without a response. They keep coming up with suggestions such as take it back to dealer to get fixed and the dealer simply latched it on and telling us to be careful that it is not correctly put in and let us go this way. Lincoln has also advised to ask other Lincoln dealers for a second opinion? Makes no sense. After numerous calls, emails, faxes, and mailed letters Lincoln concierge is stating that General Council has tried contacting us back regarding this matter and has been unsuccessful. I find this very odd when they have a list of all contact methods for both my sister and I who have made complaint. We were told its 30 days for response and after the 30 days now concierge argues its 60 days. We have video of moms fall from ring camera and the handle was in her hand at fall. I have pictures of her bruises two weeks after incident, bruising on her shoulder was bad, and I have pictures of handle and roof of vehicle. I have not received not one sorry from Lincoln or "is your mother ok." NOTE* My mother was actually on her way to hospital that day, she has been battling an aggressive infection in the toe and was on antibiotic IV's daily and had her pic line in arm at the time of fall. We never really saw the fall until it dawned on me that the ring footage had been saved. My mom was afraid to say how bad fall was in concern of her treatment being stopped but incident was reported to her doctors and nurse

  • 2017 LINCOLN MKZ
    - West Orange, NJ

In September 2022, I began noticing issues with my 2017 Lincoln MKZ. Despite notifying Lincoln and the dealer, they delayed inspection due to their policy that a check engine light was not a sufficient reason for an early inspection without an appointment. It was only inspected in November. I also was told both by the dealer and Lincoln corporate customer service that I couldn't take my car to other dealers to get it inspected. In November 2022, it was finally inspected, but they were unable to diagnose the issue. By July 2023, the issues escalated - my car was now diagnosed as requiring a new engine due to coolant leakage into the engine. I was shocked and horrified at this outcome, given that I had only driven the car for 25k miles since its purchase in 2020. Over a third of submitted complaints to nhtsa regarding this vehicle model are related to engine failure due to coolant leakage. TSB reports and existing class action lawsuits indicate that the issue is a known design flaw in the engine affecting both Lincoln MKZ and certain Ford Fusion models. Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 22-2134, indicates that the problem may present "with or without an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)". A complete engine replacement is their proposed solution. Despite the urgent need for corrective action, Lincoln's response has been neither prompt nor transparent. They seem to be avoiding responsibility rather than addressing this critical defect, as evident in their decision to discontinue the MKZ and the Ford Fusion in 2020 a year after acknowledging these issues. This is a case of warranty and insurance fraud, not to mention a critical failure in maintaining public safety. I urge NHTSA to thoroughly investigate this defect affecting numerous vehicles and compel Lincoln to rectify it. For the past two weeks, I've requested multiple times my vehicle records from Lincoln but received none, leaving my car hostage in the shop. Please consider this plea for action.

  • 2007 LINCOLN MKZ
    - Jefferson City, MO

The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-40 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle pulled to the left. There was a significant stopping distance delay. The brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on several occasions, and unknown repairs were completed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

  • 2020 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR
    - Newport, ME

On June 28, 2023 I was driving my 2020 Lincoln Navigator Black Label and pull over due to smoke coming out from under my car. I turned the car off and went to open up the hook and seen black smoking pouring out of my car. I immediately called 911 and reported my car on fire. My car burned to the ground and Lincoln says there was not recalls. I have loss a significant amount of money on this car that I purchased only 1 year & 3 months ago and my insurance company is only paying me what the most current sales are. I hope something can be done since other Navigators has been recalled due to fires. I would greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts. Engine light would come on & off. Took my care in to be inspected - they determine i need a new motor -due to defect in motor design leaking antifreeze into cylinders. Not cover by warranty because i was 2 months out of the 6yr. period with only 47,000 miles on it. They will do nothing for me except charge for a new motor. My understanding is this 4 cylinder w/turbo motor in Ford/Lincoln has a known design flaw that they hope no one finds out about.
