The manual transmission has a synchronizer failure. Safety was put at risk due to inability to safely complete a gear change reliably. The problem has been reported to the dealer and the transmission has been replaced once and is scheduled to go in 9/23/24 for a possible second transmission replacement. There are no warning lights associated with the failure. The only symptom is the inability to complete a shift with no warnings of this failure prior to it first presenting itself.

I travelled to Phoenix for a concert and after the concert I was driving back to my hotel room. I was traveling on the freeway and I heard a popping sound like a gunshot was hitting my window. I slowed down and ducked, thankfully no traffic surrounding me, only behind me. No vehicles were in front of me, as it was late at night, only two vehicles behind me and no overpasses. I pulled off the road, and found that my sunroof had exploded. It seems like the glass had blown from the inside shooting outward. It was very scary and thankfully no vehicles or heavy traffic as it would have caused an accident if there was. I’m not sure how anything could have hit the window because there was no traffic and no one in front of me to kick up debris. I did google and see that pressure changes have been causing this to happen to other vehicles and the only thing I can think of is the pressure changes of traveling to a new city which is very hot and driving with my ac on for long period of time possibly caused the sunroof to explode. It is currently awaiting repair at my local Mazda dealership now. The vehicle is just under 2 years old and has no damage. I don’t currently have any invoices because it’s still waiting at my local dealership.

I took delivery of this car about a month ago from the dealership in Kansas. On my way home to Grand Rapids, Michigan I noticed that the driver side rear view mirror was vibrating severely to the point that the image in the rear-view mirror is blurred. This is during daytime driving, at nighttime this issue severely impacts safe driving as I am unable to locate the type of vehicle accurately. Mazda seems to be aware of this issue since 2023 and have been trying to address it through TSB's indicating the dealers to replace the mirror glass. I have taken my car to my local Mazda dealer in grand rapids Michigan, and they have performed the latest TSB on the car, but the mirror continues to vibrate although less than before but still presenting a safety risk while driving. Per the latest conversation with the dealership, Mazda is still continuing to fix a better fix for this issue and I am asked to keep checking each month.

While driving on a highway, a small pebble impact caused a windshield star on a Mazda vehicle. Within hours, this star developed into a full crack from the left driver A-pillar to the center of the windshield without any further impact. A few days later, two more pebble impacts on a 50-55 MPH roadway immediately caused another vertical crack from behind the windshield mirror mounting area straight downward. The windshield, a critical safety component, appears to be failing under minimal impact, potentially compromising the structural integrity of the vehicle and putting occupant safety at risk. This could lead to reduced visibility, increased risk of injury in the event of an accident, and potential for the windshield to fail completely while driving. The manufacturer (Mazda) was contacted and initially issued a warranty claim number, recommending the windshield be replaced and retained for inspection. However, after replacement, Mazda declined to inspect the glass, citing inability to examine it before replacement, despite their initial instructions. The vehicle owner reports no prior warning lamps, messages, or symptoms before the failures occurred. The owner also notes that they have extensive driving experience with multiple vehicles over 40 years and have never experienced such windshield fragility, suggesting a potential systemic issue with Mazda windshields. Similar experiences have been reported by other Mazda owners on message boards, indicating a possible widespread issue with Mazda windshield integrity. The manufacturer's reluctance to investigate this potential safety concern, despite initial assurances, raises questions about their commitment to addressing this issue. This complaint is filed to bring attention to what appears to be a safety concern regarding the integrity of Mazda windshields and their ability to withstand normal driving conditions and minor impacts without catastrophic failure.

The contact owns a 2015 Mazda Mazda3. The contact stated that occasionally while the vehicle was shifted into reverse, the review camera image would not display on the digital screen. In addition, the contact stated that the image looked distorted. The contact received a notification of 23V487000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The display screen appears to initiate "ghost actions". It will change songs, put phone calls on mute/hang up, change display settings etc. on its own. I looked this issue up online and it seems to be very common with 2017 and newer Mazdas. I took it to the Mazda dealership and they wanted to charge me $150 for a diagnosis and another $500 for a screen repair. I decided not to do it because all of the threads online stated that this didn't fix the issue so no diagnosis was made. It doesn't put me at extreme risk but it is very distracting when I am using maps or CarPlay.

I am writing to express serious concerns regarding the recent service that occurred on November 14th, 2023. Due to the service's failure and negligence, Luther Brookdale Mazda has jeopardized the safety and well-being of my family members. On [XXX], my 2019 CX-5 was towed from Monticello, Minnesota, to the dealership in Brooklyn Center around 9 pm. While returning from [XXX] dinner in St. Cloud on [XXX] , a sudden warning appeared on the dashboard: "Engine Coolant Temperature High. Stop the vehicle immediately in a safe place." Upon receiving this notification, we pulled over to the shoulder and observed smoke emanating from the engine bay. We promptly turned off the vehicle. Concerned for our safety, we contacted our family to pick us up and had the vehicle towed by AAA. As we awaited the tow truck's arrival, we noticed coolant had sprayed all over the engine under the hood, and the engine cover was missing. Furthermore, the coolant reservoir was below the minimum threshold. This particular issue is the reason I brought the vehicle in for service the week prior, regarding insufficient coolant temperature. It was evident from the state of the engine bay that the dealership failed to follow proper protocol. This lack of oversight likely resulted in damage to the engine and other essential vehicle components, leading to the total loss of the car. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of care and attention to detail in the service provided. This negligence also compromised my family's safety. Moreover, what was meant to be a festive holiday was marred due to the disregard for my property. I have been a loyal customer at Luther Mazda Brooklyn Park for several years, and I am shocked by the incident that has transpired. We have approached the dealer with the issue and they are continue to articulate that there is no engine damage, but with the ongoing class action lawsuit, I am extremely skeptical of their claims. The problem I have is with my rearview camera, as described in Manufacturer Recall Number 6023G / NHTSA Recall Number 23V-487. This problem has existed since I purchased the car in November 2022. The recall was announced on 7/14/23. Mazda has failed to provide a remedy. Dealers report that they don't have the parts needed to make the repair and that no remedy has been provided by Mazda. It is meaningless to have a recall if the manufacturer doesn't fix the problem. This is a serious safety issue as when the problem occurs, it is not possible to see behind the car via the camera/screen.

When the cruise control is canceled and the speed has dropped more than a couple of MPH when it re-engages the accelerator goes full throttle just like you've mashed the pedal to the floor. Also when in an HOV lane with a dividing wall to the left and going around a highway curve it modulates brake/gas/brake/gas, etc. It will also occasionally pick up another vehicle on either side when on a highway curve and do the same thing. But it seems to operate properly in a straight line. I have spoken with Mazda Customer Service several times. The 1st case which was opened they never contacted me and closed the case. The 2nd time they have contacted me on several occasions but I don't seem to be getting their attention.
