The vehicle is experiencing a “ghost touch” malfunction within the infotainment system, wherein the touchscreen registers unintended inputs. As a result, the system intermittently initiates phone calls, changes radio stations, and alters other settings without driver interaction. This erratic behavior is highly distracting and presents a potential safety concern while the vehicle is in operation.

I had my car only for 4 months, but the windshield glass is broken when the car was parked on my driveway couple days ago I usually only drive my cars during weekends so the windshield glass broke without any forcing. I was asked to bring to Mazda dealer, the 495 Mazdas at Lowell MA. The technician couldn’t find any cause leading to broken windshield. I took the car to safelite shop. The inspection report is same and believe it is most likely due to quality issue. However Mazda service was not willing to repair. Very poor and disappointing customer support!

Cracked cylinder head due to defect in the casting process. Oil leaking thru the crack landing on the exhaust manifold causing an odor and possibly toxic fumes in the cabin of the vehicle.

The infotainment system suffers from ghost touching. It has gotten out of control even after a “recall” fix at the dealership. Without being touched the volume changes, the stations change, the presets change, the car makes calls to my contacts. I am often unable to control the screen as it turns the car to max volume while driving. It is extremely unsafe, distracting and alarming.

My Mazda had a recall due to faulty steering worm. We noticed the steering was getting unsafe and the steering column was replaced once in 2024. It is now having the same issues again. Almost 2 hours into a 14 hour road trip, we turned around and went home because the steering was sticking and jerky

I was driving down the road and started smelling smoke then looked over and my passenger seat was in flames.

After fuel gage recall completed, vehicle still doesn’t read fuel level correctly. Sometimes doesn’t show fuel level at all, sometimes, after refueling to a full tank, computer only shows 250 miles of range.

Shifter switch has gone out and no longer recognizes the car is in park, causes battery drainage because car cannot fully turn off. Car not recognizing gears can cause car accidents and possible loss of life. This issue can be found online as a known defect in mazda cx-5 that has not been recalled. Vehicle has been inspected and issue has been verified.There were no warning lights, sounds or symptoms of potential failure before failure. Mazda has had recalls and service bulletins related to shifter/ignition switches, particularly for models like the CX-5 and MX-5 (Miata) in years like 2013-2019, concerning worn shifter switch units (Part #KDY0-46-040) that can prevent the ignition from fully turning off in Park, potentially draining the battery or causing accidental activation. While some were major recalls (like the 1.4 million vehicle ignition switch issue in 2015), many were Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for the shifter switch issue where owners sometimes got repairs free even outside warranty due to the commonality.
