I am writing regarding my 2026 AMG GLE53 Coupe. It has 6,000 miles. On XXX I was driving from [XXX] to [XXX]. On the drive up the Collision Alert engaged. It terrified me, as I had no idea what had happened. The car continued to drive normally, so I proceeded. When I was about to drive down a decline of approximately 7% grade, the brake light came on. Shortly after, the engine light came on. I reached my destination (one more mountain pass) as the car drove normally. I contacted the service department at the Mercedes Benz of Littleton. I was told to wait a few days to see if it reset. When I turned on the car the next day, the brakes were extremely compromised. I had to literally push my foot through the floorboard to get it to stop, Fortunately, this was only in my driveway at 3 miles an hour. I called Mercedes and the car was towed 100 miles back down to [XXX]. I have extreme anxiety levels thinking about what would have happened had I been driving through the mountains and the brakes had failed. They told me that the vacuum sensor had stopped communicating. (Although with all of the other sensors that engaged, I’m not sure that this is the only thing wrong) I have no faith in this car and no longer want to drive it. The dealer will only give me a very low trade-in amount for the car. It is important to know that this is the third time something has happened with the car. The first car that I purchased (same year/make/model) had a “Limp Mode” alert come in shortly after driving it off the lot. The service department could not figure out why. Mercedes of [XXX] bought the car back from me and ordered a new one. I took possession of the new car in February, 2026. In May, the 48V Battery failure alert came on. The latest incident has left me with absolutely no confidence in the car or a desire to continue driving it. This is a serious failure which clearly could have had catastrophic consequences.
