(FROM FACTORY)CONTINENTAL VANCO 4 SEASON 225 17 101H TIRES PREMATURE EXCESSIVE WEAR @ 12,000 miles. TIRES WERE ALWAYS INFLATED TO RECOMMENDED PSI WITH NO TPMS WARNING LAMPS TIRES ARE NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON AND COULD CAUSE A BLOWOUT, CRASH, INJURY OR DEATH. MB IS NOT OWNING UP TO THE WRONG TIRE SIZE AND RATING ON THESE VANS AND BEING UNDER RATED FROM WHAT WHAT IT SHOULD BE . CURRENT MBUSA RECOMMENDED TIRE is 235/55/R17 with 103H LOAD RATING. SEEMS THAT THE TIRES THAT CAME WITH THE VAN ARE THE INCORRECT TIRE SIZE AND LOAD RATING WHICH PUT DRIVER AT RISK FOR RAPID ONSET TIRE WEAR AND DAMAGE RISKING IN BLOWOUT OR ACCIDENT.

My vehicle has a manufacturing defect that has been causing excessive tire wear and alignment issues. New tires are needed every 7k miles and the wheels will not stay in alignment. This has been reported by many other owners. I have put together the following website to detail the problem and link to reports of the same: [XXX] . Power steering malfunction caused by computer glitch when we had a bump. SeeNHTSA recall #17V-595 for earlier manufactured Metris.Yes- available for inspection. Yes, loss of power steering endangered us an anything in our path as we attempted to steer the van without powered steering I don’t know if it can be confirmed by a independent service center, but there is a history of this with other owners and I assumed it can. It has been inspected by a Merecedes service center, see the enclosed repair estimate. No warning ,a bell dinged a red service message came on when we hit the bump.

After one year of ownership, purchased used from dealer with 40 miles) I have to replace control unit due to the location of the unit in the car developing mold from condensation. Is a common problem, is widely discussed on the internet, and MBZ does not cover under warranty. The repair is to replace the unit ($2,700 in labor/parts) and place a plastic bag over the new unit.

Rear view camera control module broken. This causes rear view camera to be stuck in the housing and inoperable, so this is a safety issue. The rear view camera system was installed improperly. Instead of in the rear door panel, the control module was installed in the right side D panel. Additionally, it was not secured properly but was just placed loosely in a plastic bag. Rear view camera system available for inspection upon request. I know for a fact that this is the case with other new 2020 Mercedes Metris. Additional information available upon request. I have had multiple conversations with MB Santa Rosa, CA and MB Wilsonville, OR and they have not been helpful. They expect me to pay for the part, even though MB did not install it properly. They refuse to fix the rear view camera system and restore it to factory specifications.
