    - TUKWILA, WA

The engine wiring harness insulation near the ignition coil connectors prematurely deteriorated due to prolonged exposure to engine heat in the turbocharger/exhaust area. Multiple wiring connectors exhibited brittle, cracked insulation with exposed conductors. The degraded wiring began shorting within the ignition system, causing engine misfires, ignition circuit faults, and eventual loss of engine operation. While being operated by a rental customer the vehicle developed severe misfires followed by electrical shorting, smoke, localized flames in the engine harness area, and eventual engine shutdown. The flames self-extinguished after the electrical shorting stopped, but portions of the harness insulation showed thermal damage and overheating. The customer became stranded due to the vehicle becoming inoperable. Diagnostic faults included ignition coil circuit open faults and ignition primary circuit faults. The vehicle ultimately became inoperable due to the electrical failure. Inspection revealed multiple adjacent ignition harness connectors showing progressive heat-related insulation degradation in the same high-temperature area, indicating a broader harness material failure rather than isolated damage. This failure occurred on a 5-year-old vehicle. Engine wiring harness insulation should not prematurely degrade and short under normal operating conditions.

    - Walnut creek, CA

Vehicle: 2021 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sedan (W213) VIN: [XXX] While operating the vehicle, the diagnostic system displayed the fault code P240200 related to the Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP). The warning message indicated a “positive short circuit” in the fuel vapor leak diagnosis pump control circuit. The malfunction appears to involve the EVAP diagnostic module and/or associated electrical wiring near the fuel system. The affected component may be available for inspection upon request. The issue raises safety concerns because the fault involves an electrical short circuit associated with the fuel vapor control system. Potential risks may include electrical overheating, malfunction of the fuel vapor management system, fuel vapor leakage, emissions-related failures, or unexpected vehicle operating issues. Prior to the incident, warning messages appeared on the vehicle diagnostic display. The fault code was identified using the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic system. No collision or fire occurred at this time. The problem has not yet been fully repaired, but preliminary assessment suggests a possible failure of the EVAP leak detection pump, control module, wiring harness, connector, or related electrical components. The condition may be reproducible because the warning message remains active. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance representatives. Dealer inspection is planned. UNKNOWN whether this condition is currently associated with an official recall or service campaign for this VIN. This vehicle was originally purchased in the United States and is currently located outside the [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2024 Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC, VIN [XXX] , sold to me on 01/21/2026 by Peoria Motor Company LLC d/b/a Mercedes-Benz of [XXX] for $144,995, financed by Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. The dealer's Certified Pre-Owned Inspection Report is dated 01/28/2026 — seven days AFTER contract and one day AFTER the vehicle was shipped to me in California — meaning no valid CPO inspection existed at sale. The dealer's own Service Invoice XXX dated 01/06/2026 shows Line G "rear bumper damage — Recommended NOT Performed," confirming the dealer knew of unrepaired damage and sold the vehicle anyway. Independent iCrash report #XXX documents $15,140.03 in prior collision damage across 58 line items not disclosed at sale. Odometer disclosures are inconsistent across documents (25,541 / 25,534 / 25,535-in / 25,541-out). The Maybach hood ornament shown in the listing was replaced with a standard three-pointed star at delivery (iCrash lines 18 and 45). Vehicle was delivered to a Rocklin, California parking lot at 10:57 PM. After-sal [XXX] by the seller to a Mazda dealership "after 5 PM." A formal demand was sent April 16, 2026; manufacturer's reply on April 21, 2026 addressed only Lemon Law and ignored the disclosure violations. A Final Notice was issued May 8, 2026. I am filing concurrent complaints with FTC, CFPB, California Attorney General, California DMV, California Bureau of Automotive Repair, Arizona Attorney General, and Arizona MVD Dealer Fraud Investigations. • 2026 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300 4MATIC
    - Waban, MA

I bought a 2026 GLC300 4matic SUV a month ago. I am very disappointed and scared of serious bodily damage due to the trunk door closing by itself while my upper body is loading/unloading the trunk. My wife and I were hit on the shoulder, back, arms, or head over a dozen times for 1 month. We took the car to the dealership for the problem but did not hear back from them for 3 days. The loaner car the dealership provided which is also 2026 GLC300 SUV also closes on me in the trunk. When the trunk shuts by tself while part of my upper body is in the trunk, it is impossible for me to stop it. It requires the 2nd person to stop the trunk door by forcefully pushing up. If I am alone, I don't know what could happen to me when tailgate closes on me. I have never had this problem with my old 2018 GLC300 4matic SUV for 8 years that has been traded-in to purchase this 2026 GLC300 4matic SUV. It turned out that the same problem has been discussed in the Mercedes GLC Forum with 19 participants, as shown in the link below: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  • 2024 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300 4MATIC
    - Jacksonville, Fl, FL

My 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 has experienced multiple serious safety-related malfunctions involving several vehicle systems. In August, after picking up the vehicle from service, I placed my [XXX] grandson in his car seat, set my purse with the key inside the vehicle, and closed the rear door. The vehicle immediately locked all doors on its own, trapping my grandson inside in approximately 88-degree temperatures. I was unable to gain access for about 30 minutes. This created a dangerous child safety situation. Key fob periodically will lock you out of car. The following day, while driving approximately 35 mph with my [XXX] grandson in the vehicle, the car suddenly and violently applied the brakes and tightened the seatbelt without warning or any obstacle present. The vehicle came to a complete stop in the roadway. I later experienced bruising and increased neck pain afterward. I have also experienced repeated power liftgate malfunctions. While loading groceries, the liftgate failed to recognize my presence and closed on me unexpectedly, striking my head. The vehicle was brought in for service in November regarding this issue. Additionally, while driving on the highway, both side mirrors have suddenly folded inward without warning on several occasions, causing immediate loss of visibility and creating a serious driving hazard. • 2023 MERCEDES-BENZ EQB 350 4MATIC
    - Austin, TX

My 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB has an unresolved recall (25V487000) issued July 25, 2025 — nearly 10 months ago — with status still listed as remedy not yet available. The recall is classified as URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED on NHTSA's website for my specific vehicle. On May 6-7, 2026 I contacted Mercedes customer service three times and received conflicting safety guidance. Agent 1 told me charging above 80% was acceptable and did not advise outdoor parking. Agent 2 (appointed by a manager) told me to restrict charging and park outside immediately, and escalated to buyback team. Agent 3 called back and said Agent 2 made a mistake and that no restrictions apply. My only available parking is an enclosed residential garage. I have a newborn due any day. Mercedes has failed to provide consistent written safety guidance despite an active federal fire risk classification on my vehicle. I have sent written correspondence to Mercedes Financial Services requesting clarification.
